I have had irregular periods for over a year and a half, I was recently put on the pill to try to regulate this problem. In the mean time I have started to bleed heavy after inercourse, I visited my OB and have been told that it is my Cervix that is bleeding. I now have an apt for a coloscopy, but I am confused as my paps have always been normal including the one I had 4 months ago.I am 30 years old (in one week I turn 30) I am tired all the time and my body is telling me there is something wrong.
Is it normal to have a "normal" pap and still have Cervix cancer or precancerous cells?

Hi Getwell12,

I had cervical dysplasia when I was 24, that is a stage before cancer when the cells are changing and had to have my cervix removed, thank God I had my daughter already! Since then I lost both parents and a father in law to cancers and then got diagnosed with cancer in June 2004. I had a melanoma skin cancer very close to my female parts, and thank God it had not traveled inside it required major surgery to remove, but I am cancer free! I have told you that so you will understand my thinking on this matter. I am 50 years old and have been studying cancer for some time now determined to prevent a reoccurrence and if I do get cancer again of any type I will heal myself! Sound weird? In my studies I have come to understand that alot of people have cured even death bed cancers where they were sent home to die. One of the books I just finished (How to fight cancer and win by William L Fischer)talked about cervical cancer and the need for Ctscan type xray because cervical cancer can be hard to detect in its early stages and often can be incurable if detected too late. Anyway he says the best for early detection is thru this type of xray. I had one last week and I am clean. He said this about breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers as well.
My husband recently put up a web site to inform as many as will go look, as to why there is so much disease and cancer in our lifetime. We have found that cancer is definately preventable with proper nutrition, and have alot of testimony of those that have cured their own. Sara Snow is right on in her approach to enlighten the masses to the need to change their diet, detox, and abstain from food being so called sold as
nutritious. Then we have the FDA that says 60 mg of Vitamin C is enough and that wouldn't keep a mouse from the common cold. Peoples immune systems are depleted and when that happens sickness and disease have free reign. I have enclose a link http://personalhealthoptions.info
and I encourage you to read this site and look at the various charts. There is one map/chart that shows where the cancer is most prevalent, by types, male/female, and color. I was blown away when My husband showed me that. I fortunately now live in New Mexico where our cancer rate is extremely low, I believe because there is very little industry here. Anyway as you can see I am so blessed to be among the living these days and am just now so driven to want to help educate others, on our site is my number please feel free to contact me day or night as I have alot of info to share about books and sources to prevent the variety of illnesses we now have in our world. God Bless,
Melissa

SmileIn 1991 I too was diagnosed with abnormal or precancerous cells of the cervix. I had a complete hysterectomy.( I had already had my 3 kids and had the tubes tied) No chemo necessary afterwards. Then in 2006 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I had gone to my PCP and asked for bloodwork to be done because I was soooo tired. Bloodwork came back normal and the nurse called me to say the doctor wanted to know if I would like to come in and talk about depression. NO Thanks! I have finished all chemo, all CT/PET scans have come back clear. I've had a stem cell transplant and all scans are still clear. I'm feeling well now and just trying to grow my hair back.AlsoI am on a maintenence of Rituxan once a week for 4 weeks every 6 months for 2 years.God is Good!

Hi getwell12. I know you posted a few months ago, and hopefully you are doing okay now. To answer your question, yes, you can have a normal PAP and still have precancerous cells on cervix. It happened to me. PAP didn't catch it til it was already cancer. I had adenosquamous carcinoma, which is one of the different kinds of cancer that a PAP doesn't detect early. There are several different kinds of the rarer form of cervical cancer that the PAP isn't designed to catch. That might be what's happending to you, as I spotted after sex also. Hopefully you are getting treatment and doing well. You're in my prayers.
