The show is very informative. But...I have a question. Who pays for the procedures? There's no disclaimer stating that the participants are willing to give up their privacy in lieu of payment for the procedure(s). One participant referred to saving for this. So, I'm in the dark on the money part.
I too wonder if the cost of the procedures that is shown at the end is the actual amount the patient paid, or the amount that would have been charged under "normal" circumstances. I can't see why these patients would pay full prices and allow themselves to be on television - seems some sort of discount must apply somewhere! Surely no patient can want "fame" so badly that they'll allow themselves to be shown in such a manner for free. It's annoying as well that Beverly Hills seems to be the primary area where procedures are done. Let's face it; if one can go to a surgeon in Beverly Hills then money must not be much of a concern! Why doesn't the show focus on the other 99% of the population. Those of us who can't go to Beverly Hills and couldn't afford those prices even if we could get there? And with all the questions I see around here asking how to get on the show, why is it that no one (moderators, listen...) ever responds to those questions? Why is there so much secrecy? It almost makes me wonder if the show is an infomercial more than reality; that the surgeons involved might be paying to be on the show to drum up more business. Where would American Idol or similar shows be if they were cloaked in such secrecy? Hmmm....
