I highly enjoy both of your shows and laud your ability to get trusted info to the masses efficiently.
I would, however, like to comment on the "Bugs Are Everywhere" (my title) show. We have enough things to fear today (our president sees to that) without over-sensitization to the threat of a killer disease. The content of the show was just fine, but the message was "Oh my God, bugs are everywhere!" while it might have been "Thank God, bugs are everywhere!" Some fraction of the show should have been devoted to the good that bugs do to soften the paranoia punch.
Living in fear of all microorganisms around us is like living in fear of radiation. We all live in a sea of both. The further the fear penetrates, the more we separate ourselves from our environment. Lower immunity levels, more allergies, and asthma have all been blamed on being too clean. Iron deficiency has been linked to us eating less dirt. I would have like to see more balance -- show how we are a part of nature, not how we cah shun it at all costs.
