I've tried this by taking a Honda Espirit, disconnect and plug the fuel to carb line. I took a 2 ft. piece of gardenhose, slid it in to the intake of the carb and the other end to the top of the fuel tank( not into the liquid) , started and it ran for quit a long time.I was running on vapor.

I'm sure it did. Up until the fuel bowl in the carb ran out of gas!

Now I suppose you are going to tell us that you started it first to run the carb out of gas right?
