I Don't see CCF on the web site as a R.O.A.R Partner. Great cause and lots of help is needed to save the worlds wild cheetahs. Adoptions, donations, wish list, membership. Check out the sight cheetah.org and give if you can. Remember if you close your eyes the spots you see will disappear.
I couldn't agree more. CCF is a fantastic place. I had the honor of going there 3 times and meeting Laurie Marker the director. In fact my friend Andrew Stein is finishing his 3 year study of Leopards and Brown Hyenas there. CCF does cutting edge cheetah reproduction studies, as well as rescue work, education, and they hold the international studbook for the cheetah. I really encourage everyone to check out there website at www.cheetah.org If you are also interested in other cool cheetah centers check out Dewildt endangered species center, Hoetspruit endangered species center, and Cheetah Outreach.
I'm raising money for CCF by selling original photos of cheetahs that I took this year. ALL proceeds will go to CCF for the care of cheetahs that cannot be released to the wild. It takes $5000.00 a year to care for 1 cheetah. Needless to say this fundraiser will only chip away at the tip of the iceberg. Photos will be 4x6 and sell for $5.00 apiece. I wondered if I was going out on a limb with this idea or if there were any other thoughts. Depending on feedback, I will post information on how to contribute to the care of these wonderful big cats.

Thank you for your intrest in contributing to the CCF captive cheetah fundraiser. 4x6 original prints will sell for $5.00 and 5x7 prints will sell for $10.00. I also have original prints taken this year of lions, leopards, and tigers. ALL proceeds will go to CCF - captive cheetah program. Please Send your request and contributions to:
James Carpenter CCF - Member P.O. Box 3662 Rapid City S.D. 57709-3662
Don't forget to include your address.
Again thank you so much for the R.O.A.R.!!! Your willingness to make a diffrence and your leading by example will enable others to REACH OUT ACT and RESPOND.
I would love to join in, and help if I can. Dr. Laurie is my idol, and although I've never been to Namibia to visit the sanctuary, I would love to go someday. I've done a bit of sponsoring, but would like to do more.
Thank you Meraai7. Every little bit helps. I will maintain a list of everyone that donates and send the names along with the proceeds to CCF. I know Dr. Marker will be glad to see that so many care about the future of the fastest land animals on the planet. Again thank you!! and I anticipate hearing from you.
I would like to offer to those intrested in contributing to the CCF-Captive Cheetah Program, the option of having your picture e-mailed. This way it can be utilized as a desktop background or printed to the size you want. Contributions will be min. $5.00 and all funds from this will go to CCF. Please send your requests and Contribution to the address above. Don't forget your e-mail address and please give me your name. I want everyone at CCF to know how much a combined R.O.A.R. can make a diffrence.
I've though of a great idea: giving people a x-mas card including a pic of a cheetah, and a note stating that you have supported CCF on behalf of whomever the card is for.How can they not appreciate it (maybe not everyone will appreciate it - but who wants another boring sweater?) I sponsored a cheetah and 3 cubs recently, and it feels sooo great!
I also have "babies" at the Sanaga-Yong Chimp Rescue Center in Cameroon. They also need all the help they can get, check out their website: www.IDA-Africa.org Some of these poor babes had a terrible start in life but thanks to Dr. Speede they have a brighter future. This is the second year I am sponsoring Kiki Jackson, and this year I adder Moabi. It feels wonderful, but I still feel that I want to do more!! Any ideas are welcome. Mariana
Great idea Mariana. I think to make the contribution worth your effort you would have to find out how much cards cost, prints, paper, envelopes, stamps, ect. and request a minimum contribution. You can also have photos made into christmas cards. I would have to research to find out the cost. You also have to be real careful useing anyones photos but your own. Congrads on your adoption of a mother and three babys. It makes me feel great to know that others care about the welfare of these magnificant cats. God Bless and Be Safe.
I am a federal employee, and there is an easy way to donate to the CCF. The Combined Federal Campaign is a fantastic way for military members and federal employees to donate either a lump sum, or a little bit each month over a year's period for a designated total amount. CCF is on the CFC listing, although their overhead is a little higher than the CFC wants, I've reviewed the CCF, and can understand the higher overhead, given all of the work that is being done, especially the breeding/genetics program. So, if any are Federal or Military, donate to the CCF through your CFC. I've done it for this year, and it feels fantastic to know that I've made a difference to the wonderful cheetahs!
Julie, I am also a Federal Employee and contribute to various funds through the CFC. When I looked for the CCF thru the CFC it was the Christian Childrens Fund (CCF) Am I looking in the wrong place or did I just miss it?
It's awesome to find so many cheetah lovers in this forum. I am a supporter of the Cheetah Conservation Fund and produced a video with Dr. Laurie Marker, for CCF, that you can see at the following link: http://www.cheetah.org/?nd=122
I also produced a DVD for kids called "KidsLoveAnimals.com's African Safari" and I am giving money from it to the Cheetah Conservation Fund (cheetah.org) and the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (lewa.org) to help them save endangered species, such as the wild cheetah and the black rhino. I also show my DVD and give safari talks at local schools, because it is so important for kids to understand that there are a lot of animals that need our help for their survival. You can learn about my work at KidsLoveAnimals.com
Thank you so much for what you do. Not only do you contribute financially to the conservation of the cheetah but, you are teaching conservation of this planets wild animals to those that can make a diffrence now and in the future, our children.
Kudos to you sir, Kudos to you.
James
