I was just wondering if it is legal in the United States to keep endangered species for pets or entertainment purposes? I live in Arkansas, and there is a store near my home that has a ring-tailed lemur on display. It is in a wire cage (with no plants or trees to climb on) and is only let out on a leash to walk around the store. It is also always forced to wear diapers because of this. Though I enjoy seeing it, I think it deserves to be in a place more similar to it's natural habitat. Anyone know if there is a law against keeping endangered species?

Indeed it is illegal to keep such animals as pets or in inclosures without permites. Keeping such animals is quite dangerous and they require special medical care and large habitats to sustain them. You may want to vissit your closest police office to speak to them on the subject.
