I have had a dog that was poisoned with Anti-freeze. One of my neighbors was setting out Anti-freeze to get rid of the dogs, cats, and wild-life getting in his yard. After seeing how my dog suffered, no animal should have to go through that. We called the cops, but nothing was done. It's wrong that people can do this and get by with it. I've heard stories where people abuse animals just for the fun of it. Something needs to be done!

That is sickening

Antifreeze poisoning is a horrific way to die, and I couldn't agree with your viewpoint more.

It's heart-breaking!! My dog was my baby and she did not deserve to go through that. No animal deserves to go through that! If people don't want animals coming into their yard... than they should not keep trash in their yard. That's why they have a trash-dump. Take your trash off there. If you have trash in your yard than animals will come. All they want is food... can you really blame them? And that's why the man set out anti-freeze... because animals was coming into his yard. Which in my book, is no excuse! And after we called the cops and they went up there to talk to him... he said that he would put it up and that he didn't mean to. A few days later, the anti-freeze was back and another dog was poisoned! Frown

I found this poem on the internet and I wanted to share it with you.

A dog sits waiting in the cold autumn sun --
too faithful to leave, too frightened to run.
He's been there for days now
with nothing to do
but sit by the road, waiting for you.

He can't understand why you left him that day;
he thought you and he were stopping to play.
He's sure you'll come back,
and that's why he stays --
how long will he suffer? How many more days?

His legs have grown weak, his throat's parched and dry;
he's sick now from hunger
and he falls, with a sigh.
He lays down his head, and he closes his eyes --
I *wish* you could see
how a waiting dog dies!

khv18,
I like to know why the officers did not warn him of charges that will be brought against him if he continued to set out anti-freeze. You have my sympathy and I agree with you that animals wild or tamed shouldn't have to go throught that and suffer. Also if I woas you, I would seek charages and have the guy prosecuted for animal cruelty. There are laws out there that forbits people from hurting animals and I would also notify the city or state where you live and let them know what is going on have have criminal charges brought against this man. So if you have any more questions that you need to ask, feel free to send me an e-mail and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. My e-mail addres is Dochristi3@aol.com andlet me know what happens ok. Good luck.

Yes ethel-gulcol poising is a bad way to go. but maybee you could do better from hearing this. I moved out to the sticks to get away from this type of stuff. I too had the problum you described. I got 5 acres now and other peoples dogs still come on my property all the time. I use a paint ball marker now,they learn quick, Its more fun and i don't half to dig any more holes.
Theres nothing that will spoil your morning like stepping in dog poop with bare feet while headded over to look at all the spilt trash cans! (not to mention the dead chickens I've yet to notice)
I would never condone poisining, but you scat freaks need to rember that it is not acceptable to allow your "pets" to stray. There will alwayse be the the types that will solve the problum Quietly,themselfs. Sorry if i offended anyone but thats just the way it is. So the point is, if you relly want to help animals, start by keeping your "pets" to yourself, just plain commen courtisy. s.s.& s.

i agree with hunter-t although that person who set out anti-freeze does sound like a cruel, red-necked, jerk... maybe you should not leet your pets walk into other peoples yard, you should've known that there are people like that and not let your dog out, not to mention i think you'd be ticked to have your kid walk around in your house not knowing he had dog poop on his foot!so yes, it isn't right to have put antifreeze on your property to kill animals, but you were equaly responcible.
