I am so tired of the salt water fishing/crabbing/sitting around a small table talking/fighting the elements...etc.
How about just moving on and letting someone entertaining take over your time slot?

deadliest catch isn't a bad program. It is just that it has run too long. It seems that every time I turn on Discovery I see men on a ship pulling in nets. I'm tired of it. I miss watching the Discovery Channel because they have had so many good shows. I think it is time to cancel this one and put something new up

As soon as I see men on boats pulling in nets, I DO change the channel. That's the problem. I miss the GOOD programming that Discovery has had in the past. This show's time has come...and passed!!! (I’d love to tell you what I used your tissue for!)

I love this show and enjoy even the repeats...I don't want to see the show stopped.. By all means.....

I think all stations could quit resting on their laurels though and quit pounding the reruns so much....
I repeat, I DON'T want to see Deadliest catch stopped..I look forward to it every year...

But quit driving ALL shows through the endless repeats.....

They pull up pots, not nets.

In my humble opinion, not that it really matters, DC is the best reality show on television. I won't name shows, but watching people confined to a house, squabbles, fighting on an island and doing stuff, while a camera crew is there to supervise, seeing who's the best ballroom dancer, and on and on and on - yuck! For those who do not like DC you have the right - the right to TURN OFF THE TV or CHANGE THE CHANNEL! 'nough said.

Completely agree! If you don't like it you have the choice to not watch. I personally love the show. Reruns and all.

It always amazes me that people will spend 4+ minutes to log onto a fan board just to post a message that they hate a show, versus spending the 4 seconds to change the channel.

There are bigger, and more important, issues in life to get worked up over.

I agree with ya Past Wild. The show is great, but it seems whenever I get time to watch t.v. and turn to the Discovery Channel, (HD and regular channel), Deadliest Catch (or How It's Made) is always on.

For those of you saying to turn the channel, you're missing the point. We love Discovery Channel and we want to watch it. It'd just be nice to have some new/different programs on once in a while.

Past Wild,
It appears that you are seriously out numbered regarding your opinion that DC should be cancelled as it has run too long. I wonder if you would say the same about Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Cash Cab etc.... These are all fine shows and I find that I at least learn something new and do not mind the re-runs. Here’s a thought, try the HD Discovery channel as it has the back east feed. Different station, different shows. Either way you can always change the channel or walk away from the TV. What about reading a book, I would suggest either the Deadliest Catch or Time Bandit books as fascinating reading. I'm just saying.....

why is so much time spent on trying to persued otherss to agree with the opion of their own. everyone has differnet taste and thats the way it is. i guess some poeple just get so mad they could puke blood over the thought of someone else not thinking the way they do.i can understand someone voiceing their opinion but why do the ones who dont agree with it have to try to change thier minds or tell them they are wrong, or what to do about it. just voice your opinion and let it go. sheesh dont try to be a mr. know it all. just because someone is letting everyone know what they think doesnt mean they are wanting a solution to the problem.why is so much time spent on trying to persued otherss to agree with the opion of their own. everyone has differnet taste and thats the way it is. i guess some poeple just get so mad they could puke blood over the thought of someone else not thinking the way they do.i can understand someone voiceing their opinion but why do the ones who dont agree with it have to try to change thier minds or tell them they are wrong, or what to do about it. just voice your opinion and let it go. sheesh dont try to be a mr. know it all. just because someone is letting everyone know what they think doesnt mean they are wanting a solution to the problem.

DC is still interesting for me, but the more they get into the soap-opera stuff, the less I watch of it.

The show I think is overdue being cancelled is MythBusters. I love the guys, but after about he second season some of the "myths" they came up with were, IMO, bogus. I expect they are now onto "Can a can of tuna be a flotation device?"
