For gods sake dont bring the wizard back next year. I can hardly bare keith and his brother I turn the channel every time there boat comes on.

I doubt that Keith and his brother would tolerate you baring them, much less on national television.

I must say that I LOVE the Wizard. I also think her captain and crew ROCK!!!! I want them back next season more than any other boat. Like them all.... but LOVE the Wizard!!!!!

I too LOVE the Wizard. But then again, I LOVE all the boats---just the way they are.

I actually like the Wizard crew. Crosby, Travis, Lenny and gang are all mature hard working men. And I loved the addition of Cooper during Opies. Keith and Monte can be a little intense (they will be the first to tell you) but I would hate to have a camera stuck in my face 24/7. I'd look like a real jerk at times too. And I'm not in charge of running a floating prison (with the chance of drowning I love that one).

I actually like the intensity of Captain Colburn and his first mate, Monte. Captains, in my experience, are intense people. Whatever they focus on, they REALLY focus on it.

Physiologically, when a male (females do, too, but it's more pronounced in males because of their higher testosterone levels) gets an adrenaline rush, he literally gets tunnel vision. Their cognitive function becomes extremely focused, they are on edge, and anything that distracts them is not welcome.

So I can understand Captain Colburn's reaction towards Monte who challenged Colburn in an intense situation--setting out to sea, the start of a new season.

In that incident, the way Monte approached it, I got the feeling that perhaps he'd been prodded by production about the issue.

Anyway, it would be unrealistic to expect a Kumbaya experience in the crab-fishing environment.

I like the intensity. It's what helps make the show come alive.

Agree 100% Moragine. I'd take a Captain who demands excellence over one who wants to lead camp songs any day. I want my life in the hands of the perfectionist.
