Song/Score featured in Deadliest Catch: TRANSMISSIONS & TURN IT UP
04/05/2007. Silver is a California-based indy band whose tracks have been featured in several television series. If you haven’t heard of them it’s because they’re still indy but they’ve been on the scene since 1999. Clips of two of their songs are heard in Deadliest Catch, season 1 and 2. They are Turn It Up and Transmissions. The track Turn It Up, has never officially been released on cd however, you can listen or download the song from Silver’s website here. You may also visit their myspace here and listen to Transmissions. On their myspace you can view a video clip of scenes from different shows featuring their music including of course, Deadliest Catch. Silver’s music is catchy and will probably grow on you if you listen to it much…fair warning.
I can't seem to get a new discussion started tonight so I'm hoping that I can get my message or question out there via this method. It pertains to all the boats that fish during Opi season.
We're all very familiar with the problems all of our Crabbers are experiencing during the brutal winters on the Bering Sea. Everytime I see those boats icing up and getting top heavy, I end up feeling every muscle in my body aching and my hands feel like I've been holding onto one of those soft blow sledge hammers. I've done it before but not on the Bering Sea. That has to amplify the discomfort exponentially! Anyway, my question and I hope I can find out from someone close to the action why they don't try using something like Heat Tape or an electrical low voltage pipe wrap on the ship's masts, booms, cranes and rails during those periods of time when the boats are icing up? Doesn't that sound like a potential solution for all of their icing problems? Shoot, it works for so many other icing problems, why doesn't one of the engineer's give it a try? I can't help but believe that it would work. What do the rest of you think? Thanks...
