During the Kathy from NYC show last night, Clinton was holding all of Kathy's old purses. He said that one of his pet peeves was seeing thirty year olds carrying teenage purses. He then held up this really, really small purse and asked what is was for. Stacy in a "get a clue, Clinton" manner said, "IT'S FOR TAMPONS!"
HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great submissions!
I'm glad this thread has had some staying power, but I knew it would because Stacy and Clinton have such sharp senses of humor, and such a great chemistry.

Thanks, Tenngirl on the tampon remark - that was by far one of my all time fav's!! Smile Cathy then tried to fight about the denim purse 12 year olds carry around Manhattan! LOL

I would gladly give them all of my 12 year olds purses knowing there were larger, richer more expensive grown-up purses; not to mention the shoes! But I digress...Wink PGood, I am also proud this thread has stood the test of time, and I'd like to thank you for starting it in the beginning. Thank you.

I do not remember the particular MO; however, Stacy used a Yiddish word to describe a body part exposed by a hoochie skirt. Needless to say, the true essence of the joke seemed to go over the MO's head. Great fun.

Tonight's new episode, Clinton says, "You just may be the first Contributor I want to bite - you are just so darn cute!"

Stacy, "Stop that Clinton, I think that borders on harassment." Clinton says, "But she's so cute," as she's walking away he says to Stacy, "I'll bite you." Stacy says, "Uh no, not me either." Smile

Probably didn't get it quoted perfectly, but it was so funny. Clinton is right, she is so adorable I just wanted to eat her up - she reminds me of my daughter.

The word she used was "pupik," which actually means bellybutton. I originally thought she was referring to a different part of the body. Wink But she used the phrase again in another episode where she said that she was talking about the bellybutton.

One of my favorites is from the Ellen episode:

STACY: (Holding up a red taffeta dress) You know what this reminds me of?

CLINTON: A sl#t on prom night?

STACY: Close. Tonya Harding.

Zing. Smile

Saw the Kelly from Philadelphia repeat last night (liked the Stacy and Clinton sock puppets!)
But the part that was really funny to me was when Clinton pulled one of her tops and said, "This says to me Drama Club Stage Crew", and Kelly said, "I WAS on the Drama Club stage crew!".

In the live episode, Moriah, the MO, got off the best line when S + C were wondering how she could go so quickly from frumpy to slutty, and she said, "It's that easy!", which cracked up S + C!

There was a look that passed between them at that moment that made them both crack up. I suspect it was a veiled reference to Clinton's sexual orientation (God love him either way).

Gosh, so did I (and she's used the word often)! But I'm a WASP; what do I know? <G>

I've not visited this forum for a while and stumbled on this thread, which I love because of all the clever lines. So sorry for the many posts tonight.

Another one of my favourites is on the Kathryn from Utah episode, when she goes shopping in some boutique where she tries on a white "snow princess" furry wrap. The sales associate (who tells her she comes "from a place we've never heard of," which cracks up S & C) tells K she thinks she should get it.

Clinton: I think you're being tortured by a native New Yorker - and that's our job!

Talking about native New Yorkers, I don't recall all the specifics, but there was an MO who tried on a wackadoodle outfit and wanted somebody's opinion, so she asked an older lady who was just sitting there who I'm assuming was a New Yorker.
The lady said, and I'm paraphrasing, "I'd never wear it, but it looks good on you."
It was pretty funny.

PGood, the episode to which you refer was the girl who never thought of herself as a "Woman," and the New Yorker said, "Well, it's good for the Country maybe, but you have a cute figure you should show it off, not hide it underneath baggy sweats." S&C commented, "Can we hire this lady as a consultant?" Big Grin

Actually, I got on here to post something Clinton said on Moriah's episode Friday night because the word "pupik" has made the rounds so many times. They were in her bedroom trashing Moriah's clothes when he stumbled across the denim skirt with black lace attached (it was one of those potholder type deals). Clinton said, "This skirt just looks even worse in person; it really does come up to your whohoo(sp?)," which I THINK he meant what we've all been thinking pupik has meant all along?? Did anyone else catch it? I was rolling with laughter....

Thanks Flirt, great recall!
So her comment had that New York vibe (calling it as one sees it) but in a much nicer way!

I, too, enjoyed it Friday when Clinton said "hoo hoo", or whatever it was. I suppose there's no way to know, but I actually thought he might have meant something else besides belly button in that reference! Red Face
It was great fun either way.

This is the type of friendly banter I love between S + C, heard on one of the repeats Friday, when they both said something at the same time to the MO:

S and C: ‘‘Color is your friend!’’
C: ‘‘I can’t believe we just did that. You so owe me a drink.’’
S: ‘‘Don’t even think about it.’’

They’re such good pals, and have been through so much together, they even think like each other at times!

Agreed, Clinton uses a line that I've been using for years, "Get out of my head, London, get out of my head!" Of course, I am talking to my best friend not Stacy. Smile

One of my faves was from Stacy during Irene's (hot young bod in real estate)ambush. Referring to Irene's low-cut tops, mini-skirts and low-rise jeans "gives a new meaning to the phrase Open House

on one of the recent reruns, clinton said of a MO while watching the 'previous day shopping' videos, "ah, i think she just had an shOegasm!"

Loosely translated from one of the repeats Friday night, I think it was Diane, a hairdresser from Florida:

She had chosen a sharp-looking pencil skirt, and Stacy was next to her in a similar skirt.
Diane said, ‘‘This pencil skirt looks good on me and of course they always look fantastic on Stacy.’’ Stacy took a tiny bow and said, ‘‘Yeah, you did steal my pencil skirt!’’
Then (and this is the part I loved) Clinton piped up with, ‘‘I want a pencil skirt, too!’’

The exchange was amusing to me by itself, and not for the reason you might think. I just think it really showed how excited Clinton gets about clothing and making people look good — so much that he’d say that!

The episode with the MO that wore the fairy wings, and S & C each grabbed a pair, and a comment was made S & C about wearing "fairy wings" and Clinton chuckled and "I am NOT going there!"

Ha ha.
Fraggle Rock was a bit after my cartoon/muppet watching days, but I was pretty sure that was a great reference based on what that lady's fuzzy orange boots looked like!
Thanks for confirming.

I loved the episode when S&C were going through the woman's closet and Stacey pulled out a very unattractive denim pantsuit. Clinton just looked at it with this horrified look on his face and screamed "What is that?! What is that?" It was too funny! Like he had just seen the Loch Ness monster or something!

Today during the noon (EST) hour, I watched Terry a/k/a "Surfer Dude" from San Fran. During the trashing of the wardrobe, Clinton fired off another one-liner that had me rolling; perhaps it was the manner in which he said it. Wink

Terry owned a hand-made sweater from the Hemilayians (sp?), and while C was holding it the thing shed all over his designer suit. Clinton was obviously skeeved out and asked Stacy, "Get this thing off me; it's shed all over me! Gross!!" They began to assume what "animal hair" the sweater was, and Terry said, "It's Yak, Hemilayian Yak!" To which Clinton replied, "Great! I've got Yak all over me!" Red Face

garnetsue, the sunny (los angeles aspiring actress) re-run was on last night, and that WAS hilarious when S + C both put on the fairy wings
clinton said something along the lines of ‘‘i really have to reassess what i’m doing with my life’’ after he had the wings on and viewers had time to make the obvious connection

you can watch every repeat and pick up something you missed, too
for instance, in the desiree (arizona hairdresser/amateur mechanic) episode, stacy picked up a pair of sparkly shoes and a pair of biker boots and said, ‘‘we go from dorothy (wizard of oz) to american chopper! who are you????’’
in the same episode, i loved it when clinton said about one of her shirts, a green, black, and white color combination, ‘‘i had that same shirt for my eighth-grade class picture!’’
and about another one of desiree’s shirts, a plain red number with a blue stripe across it, stacy said, ‘‘how long have you been playing with matchbox cars?’’
both of those shirts looked EXACTLY like ones boys would have been wearing! do S + C know everything about clothes, or what?

p.s. the chicago face painter was ‘‘amanda’’, not ‘‘glenda’’, as i called her in a post a while back; her MO rerun (a great one) was on last night

Amanda's episode was one of their finest. The only line I truly recall was one of her 360 numbers, Amanda said, "But this is how I look!" It was not about the clothes in her mind; she was speaking as though what you see is what you get and there is nothing else to be done that will make it better. However, our dynamic duo worked their magic on this face painter, and she now looks great.

She loves her "fruits!" I believe that was one of her lines as well. Wink

I love the banter on the show. Generally, it's Stacy & Clinton who get in the zingers, but occasionally Carmindy has a few good ones. In the "Ed" episode (the guy who named the colors he wore), she & Nick glanced at the clothes Ed had worn and she said, "Look, Nick, the circus is in town."

My thoughts exactly. Smile

that’s true, nick and carmindy get off some good ones

in the sunny episode (cali free spirit who wore glitter) carmindy said something like, ‘‘when you’re 8 and you wear glitter it’s fun, when you’re 28 it looks like you forgot to take your medicine!’’

and in an episode with this real serious woman (i forget her name), she didn’t use some type of well-known product in her hair and nick wanted her to. she asks, in a panic, ‘‘do they have it in los angeles?’’ and nick, with a little wink to the camera, says, very dramatically, ‘‘they have it there!’’

I heard these on the Melanie episode yesterday:

CLINTON: You definitely look like you march to the beat of a different drummer. Unfortunately, that drummer plays for the Wiggles.

And later, as they were watching Melanie shop...

STACY: I feel like it's "What Not to Wear: The Muppet Movie."

Can't remember exactly the ep this happened on, but I think Clinton took some piece of clothing from an MO and started hobbling around and talking like he was an old geezer.

Stacy said, "Clinton, stop it! I just had a visual of What Not To Wear, Season 80!"

I like the episode from last week where I woman put on a pair of the ugliest shoes ever seen on the show and Clinto said "if those were the last shoes on earth.." then Stacey cut him off and said "I would chop my feet off"!

And I forget the woman from Atlanta I think who was a part of an improve troupe who kept talking about putting snacks down her blouse!

I have several. My all-time favorite episode is the Christina episode. There were some hilarious quotes in this one.

Christina: "That's Christina that you're throwing out. You're gonna have nothing left."
Stacy: "Christina, it's NOT you that we're throwing out. We're throwing the stuff that is stopping you from being as fabulous as you should be!"

Stacy to Christina: "We really do want the kind of attention you get to be of better quality and not just drunk men sort of falling into your chest."

Christina: "I hear a voice, it's very low, but it's saying "This is Christina."
Stacy: "It's not coming from the girls? She's hearing other voices?"
Clinton:"I don't even want to know where that voice is coming from."

Christina: "I feel like Stacy & Clinton are winning. Right now, you guys are winning."
Clinton: "It's not a competition between us, Cristina."
Stacy: "That's right because we had every intention of beating you."
Clinton: "We've beaten so many before you."

Christina: "Guys. You got have a little room to be crazy. I mean, everything can't be like..."
Clinton: "You've got more than little room. Our private parts don't talk to us. At least not that we're willing to admit."

Absolutely priceless!

In the 360 mirror, Stacey says something like: "Did you work for Vulcan airlines? Beam her up Scotty!"

Another show where Clinton says "I think I just threw up in my mouth!"

While in the 360 mirror, Clinton says "Ok...lets get out of here. There's too much plaid in here even for me!"

Stacy to an MO who tried on a pink and purple burlap jacket top: "That looks like something Coco Chanel would have worn, if she was on acid."

Clinton to a Midwestern MO who had a T-shirt that said "Gourmet Manure" on it: "That must be the s#it that don't stink."

(Sometimes even the MOs get off good ones. I thought when the tiny New York comedienne who was trying to save her old clothes during the trashing yelled to S + C, "Look, Versace!" to distract them, it was rather clever.

Beam her up stacy!

Clinton, whose mind obviously went in the same naughty direction that mine did, doubled over laughing.

I laughed pretty hard during the episode featuring Diane the hairdresser, who convulsed Stacy and Clinton by repeatedly pronouncing Clinton's name in a way that sounded for all the world like "Clint Ann."
When Stacy and Clinton met up with Diane on her second shopping day, Clinton took Diane's glasses, put them on, and did a hilariously on target impersonation of her, squinting and groping around.
Stacy eggs him on, urging, "Say our names!"
Clinton obliges, twanging, "I *think* this is what Stacy and Clint Ann were talking about ..."
Diane is good sport enough to double over laughing.

I loved it when Clinton, viewing an overwhelmed Annie (I think) on her first day of shopping, says, "Look at her, she's like a four-year-old; 'UUUGH, I just wanna GO HOME'!"
He sounded *just like* a four-year-old on the verge of a meltdown!

Tragically, I cannot remember which episode this is from, but I found this exchange, which happened during the viewing of the secret footage near the beginning of the show, hilarious:
:
Subject: "I just don't want to look old!"
Stacy: "I get the feeling you equate being put together with looking 'old.'"
Clinton, with that wonderful impish grin of his: "Yeah, well, how old do you think Stacy is?"
Everyone in the room dissolves into laughter.
At times like this, Stacy and Clinton remind me of a brother and sister who like to try to get each other's blood pressure up.

Oh and...one of the best one's I think is not even on the show, it's in print from almost 3 yrs. ago:

""Besides the chickens, you're tucking in, and the rise on these pants is about 3 feet too long and the pants are tapered," Kelly said. "You can untuck and do a belt over the shirt or you can give it to me and we can all light it on fire."
