I thought Nick was a hair stylist, however he only knows one haircut. The coloring is great but, Nick, Please start using a hair style other than a bob.

Hey, I just posted the same thing. How can we convence the show of how right we are?

I hear there is lots of consultation with the MOs before they get their hair cut... maybe that bob is what they all want?? Confused

It is kind of boring seeing the same-old-same-old haircut all the time, but just about all of them say they love it, so what can you do? Force them to get a cut they hate so we won't be bored?

I am not saying that Nick gets it right every time, But most of the MO's haven't taken very good care of their hair to begin with, damaged, over processed, etc. So, Nick does what he can to make the MO's look their best. The MO's are not models, just average women. I don't know what the viewing audience expects, you can only do so much with what you are given to work with. Nick does a great job of coloring hair.

You're not necessarily "right". It's your opinion. Big difference.

Nick needs to take some haircutting tips from the hairstylists on Ten Years Younger....the 2 women stylists that I've seen have done GREAT jobs with the haircuts...and they're not all bobs! Nick, come up with another style..please!

I agree, Feline. I think our Nick is stuck in a bob rut. I just watched an episode of WNTW today that dated from 2005 where he actually let a girl keep her long hair and styled it nicely for her. That made me realize that he used to do that more often. Now he seems to be fixated on saying, "I think you need to make a big change". But he says that to everyone regardless of whether they really need it or not. It's getting tiresome.

The stylists on that show give me the creeps! I can't image being in that glass cage and reading lips. The makeup guy is too over the top. I wouldn't let any of them work on me.

I watched 10 Years Younger Once and was creeped out by the public box display of the MO, but on the episode I watched, the hairstylst had ELECTRIC BLUE hair. Yeah, like that will instill confidence in the fashion-challenged MO---LOL!!

Maybe the Nick Bashers would like Nick to leave WNTW and join 10 Years Younger. Big Grin

Mrs Master Sergeant has repeatedly commented on Nick's love of The Bob. It is a running joke in our house when watching new episodes... will he or won't he go for a bob.

While the 'explanation' that he is choosing a cut which will work with the hair and any damage, he seems to go for this even when presented with long hair.

We have wondered though... What would Nick do with Carmindy or Stacey's hair?

I'm new here, but I have read the Nick bashing threads. When any of you who make fun of what he does with the ladies' hair, think about this -- when you have your own salon that does a booming business, do celebrities' hair, and can command $500 per haircut, then your comments mean something. Until then, unless you can do better (which I highly doubt), you're just making yourselves look silly with your comments. Show us what YOU would do instead, if you can.

No, I'm not. It's just that everyone here is so sick and tired of reading comments from people who can't do anything BUT complain. Suggest a hairstyle, justify your comments. But none of you can.

Why should anyone suggest a different cut? It won't change the fact that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice that Nick does a heck of a lot of the exact same cut. If people comment on it, so what? It's the truth. Get over it. My wife and I simply find it rather amusing.

Women who have been makeovers on the show have posted here, and they say that Nick meets with them before the hair segment is filmed and find out their lifestyle, how much time they're willing to spend styling their hair, etc. Look around here a little; you might learn something. The cuts he gives are very low maintenance, which suits their lifestyle. Think about it -- if they don't know how to dress, they most likely don't know how to style their hair attractively either. We readers can make all the stupid comments about Nick's work that we want to, but at the end of the day, we don't know what goes on.

I agree Nick is one dimensional and his cuts are boring, he makes the same cut every single time and brings down the show.

What bothers me the most is that he insists that women with long hair chop it off, and he sits there and argues with them until they give in only to make them look like crap in the end.

As a woman who takes great pride in her beautiful long sexy hair I would be devestated is that talentless "so called stylist" did one of his "wonders" on me. Thank goodness I was born with enough fashion sense to never have to put my faith in others to tell me what looks good for me but I sincerely feel bad for those women that are on a major high with all the great fashion advice they receive from the stylists on the show only to have a rude awakening when it comes to the hairstyle part. I really feel for them!!

I can't believe the guy has a regular spot on a show as cool and popular as this.

I concur.....very boring. His coloring is great, but he really needs to come up with some ideas for the actual cuts. My stylist is more creative than him, and she only charges $40.

I am a fan of long hair, I would go ballistic if mine were cut. That said, I really like Nick and I think he tries to give cuts that are easy to care for and suitable for the type hair they have.

Not everyone can wear a bob but probably 90% of the female population can and they are virtually maintence free.

Stacy and Clinton hate the word "comfortable", and yet some of you (and apparently Nick?) justify his very plain haircuts by describing them as "easy"? The object of the show is to make people look better isn't it? If he has to teach them how to properly style their hair then he should do it. He is clearly very talented, and enjoys showcasing his ability to technically layer hair. He needs to spend more time considering what will improve the MO's look. 9/10 times, the matronly cuts he gives, no matter how skilled, don't succeed. I think he's a bit narcissistic. . .he likes to cut

I JIONED JUST TO COMMENT ON NICKS HAIRCUTS. I,M GLAD TO KNOW THAT OTHERS AGREE THAT NICK IS DOING THE SAME HAIR CUT ON EVERY MO AND ALSO THAT HE ALMOST SEEMS TO PRESSURE THEM INTO IT.I ALSO SO WONDER WHY STACY AND CARMADY HAVE LONG HAIR BUT HE INSIST THAT EVERYONE CUT THIERS.GLAD TO KNOW ITS NOT JUST ME.

Thank goodness someone else besides me is talking about "Nick's Haircuts". Please, please Nick do something different. We all know that this "bob" haircut is easy to care for, but for pete's sake, show some variety. Have styles with curls and interest become obsolete? Personally, I am getting a "curly" perm style on purpose to protest all the straight styles. Well that's my take on things.

Hey KBMORE,
I had the exact observation about Stacy and Karmandy--that being that clearly Nick doesn't "do" their hair. I too, joined for the expressed purpose of commenting on Nick's haircuts. I've been struck ill this week, and after watching WNTW twice a day for six days, I needed to vent. I did see one episode where an accountant from Chicago fought with Nick to keep her hair long. He gave her a really pretty cut and color, but still ultimately tried to maker her feel badly that she didn't go shorter. I wish we could have a convo with Nick to hear his explanation.

I think I saw that one, hepworl. It's almost like he's against long hair. I've also noticed that he does try to make the women feel bad for not wanting him to go shorter, acting like he's the king of all haircuts. Short hair is not for everyone. But I've also seen episodes where the original haircut was really bad, and they fought tooth and nail for him not to change it. I've wanted to scream at those women for being so close minded-it's just hair, it grows back! And, I'd say about 9 out of 10 times, the MO looks 100% better after the haircut, even though the 10 people before her got the same cut! Hopefully they don't all live in the same city...
