With your argument and if hair doesn't matte why argue with the MO's to get them to do something different with their hair then? They like the way they look so what's the point? Your argument is completely flawed. Secondly I get my hair done at a salon that has the latest trends from Britain, some of the top fashion hairstylists in the world train in England (FYI) so believe me, I KNOW what I am talking about. If you feel you have to offend me personally without even knowing me you have lost the battle already... If you think http://www.curatoruk.com/popups/toni_guy/cos/cos_1.htmlis a bad haircut, then please don't waste my time addressing anymore comments at me because you are seriously clueless.
You should seriously consider changing your screen name from Samsam to DumDum. My comments are directed at all Nick bashers, I couldn't care less about you personally. Almost every single participant requests that their cut be easy to maintain. The styles you point to are just the opposite. If you haven't noticed, the participants are working stiffs, not models. Based on bad past experiences, a lot of women feel that if you cut their hair shorter they'll loose all femininity and look like a boy. But if it's done right (as Nick does), the medium & short cut makes them look healthier, more feminine, and more modern. Re "the latest styles from Britain", have you been able to decipher what accent Nick has??? FYI, New York City is not exactly middle America. I WIN!!!

Ugh! Nick's haircuts are stale, usually unflattering, and not maintainable. Yes, these women are "working stiffs" but who wants to go from no maintenance to HIGH maintenance? His cuts are so predictable and end up looking the same everytime. I close my eyes when the hair segment comes on because I'm embarrassed to see the outcome! I don't expect high fashion styles but the same ole chin or shoulder length cut and straigtened, is just not ok. Nick bores me. Sorry. I don't mean to offend, I just needed to vent after watching 2 episodes in a row!!! Change hairdressers PLEASE!

I like most of Nick's haircuts... and I'd LOVE to have 'Danielle's' cut (yes, a layered bob). Where can I find a photo of the cut to take to my hairdresser? I'd love to have the site have a 'hairstyles' section so we could print something out. As to 'why a bob' ... they're the easiest to manage, look classic and nice on most women! And no one, not even Nick, is 100% right ALL the time, but he is MOST the time.

I've watched WNTW for years, and I'm at the point where I fast forward through all of Nick's segments. He gives nearly the same cut to every woman and I don't agree with the argument that these are all 'low maintenance' cuts. Most marry the woman to a blow dryer and a flat iron for the cut to look good. He's all shock value now, wanting to get a reaction from everyone that he is going to cut off all of their hair. I'm tired of it and can't bear to watch his segments. Even worse that Stacey and Carmindy both have the long hair that he tells every woman she needs to cut off.

I KNOW!!! I couldn't agree with you more!! in particular with what I have bolded. The best part is some people will say well average women don't have a team of stylists like Stacey or Carmindy to do their hair for them so he HAS to give them a practical bob. HOGWASH!! my hair is as long as Stacey's and I don't have a "team of stylists" doing my hair every day I do it myself and guess what I manage to have a life as well, I can even hold down a job with long hair and all IMAGINE THAT!! LOL what bunch of nonsense, he's lazy and gives lazy haircuts and that's it. Long hair doesn't take THAT much longer to style if you have a good haircut.

This is the Umpteenth We Hate Nick Thread. RANT ALL YOU WANT, NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE. CHOICES - TIVO, WRITE TO THE NETWORK AKA PRODUCTION STAFF, WRITE TO THE SPONSORS THAT ADVERTISE/SUPPORT THE SHOW, AND USE YOUR REMOTE. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO WATCH THE SHOW - SO DON'T. YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE WILL GO DOWN. With all of the problems facing us,food prices, gasoline costs, hurricane devastation, earthquakes, etc., this has to be one of the most silly posts that goes on ad-nauseum. Enough already

Spkeaing of blood pressure going down....YIKES!! LOL Well then it's simple, go find yourself a current events board to talk about current events. This board is about WNTW and this thread is about discussing Nick's uselsess haircuts, if you don't like it don't read. And NO not enough already there is PLENTY more where all this came from.

I agree that Nick seems to give the same hair style - bob or version of it - to most of the clients; it's a flattering cut on just about everyone, but how about mixing it up some, Nick? On a related matter, I'd like to see Nick cut bangs on the clients with large foreheads - like Natalie and Jessica from Pasadena, who was on the show a couple of weeks ago; wispy bangs are a great way to break up the space...

Whether or not Nick's range is limited (and I don't really think it is), the fashion victims shouldn't be allowed to skip the hair cut. Granted only one woman has so far opted not to, but she was one of the ones who needed it the most with all that long drippy hair pulling down the top of her head. I think if you take the money, you "buy" the program, and hair and make-up are a huge part of a new look. I don't think refusing the haircut should be allowed.

Nick does fabulous things with curly hair, however. His own curly hair has clearly driven him to excel at helping those similary ..er.. "blessed".
And yes, that woman who kept her ridiculously long hair (after nominating herself!) looked like crap because of it.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY HE ALWAYS DOES MOMMY HAIR CUTS. ESPECIALLY WHEN WOMEN HAVE LONG HAIR. WHY CAN'T HE STYLE LONG HAIR LIKE STACY S OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT.

I too have noticed that Nick does basically the same cut on each participant. Although bobs do work for most people, the bob is a cut that lacks personality. Therefore he should try more to tailor styles to individuals personalities and hair types, like it's done on 10 Years Younger.
Also, he's always cutting the people's hair too short. Looking like an adult doesn't require that a woman have mid-length or shorter hair. Look at Stacey. She has long tresses, and she appears very stylish and mature.
Otherwise, Clinton, Stacey, and Carmindy are doing great jobs, and I learn a lot from you all. Thanks

Interestingly, my stylist told me today that the younger set is now trending towards shorter hair and it made me think of this thread. I think that perhaps Nick, being on the fashion scene in NY, is responding to that trend in giving the MOs shorter hair, thinking that this is actually a new fashion-forward thing and not a frumpy old thing. Unfortunately when he reinterprets that trend in his own way it doesn't come off quite as cute and trendy as it could look. He is probably trying to make it look more average for the sake of his MOs, but something is lost in the translation and it ends up looking the same from week to week.
One of the stylists at my salon had a shoulder length but cute style and it was anything but a "boring bob". And it looked very easy to style (I am even considering going over to something similar myself). There ARE a lot of really cute, non-boring cuts out there that Nick tends to avoid.

I also agree that Nick tends to be a "one note wonder" when it comes to his choice of haircuts.. I also noticed that he doesn't seem to be much of a fan of curly hair. He may make comment to the MO that they have a nice wave to their hair, yet inevitably out comes the straigtening iron.
As someone who happens to like my curls, I wish he would do more styles that accentuate natural waves rather than change them into a severe bob.

If memory serves me right, it's only in the past couple of seasons that Nick has caught up to the straightening iron. He used to let people with curly hair go natural, but unfortunately they all used to come out looking like Harpo Marx. So pick your poison with Nick, LOL.

Seriously...I'm sorry, but great hair does not necessarily mean SHORT...is that all he knows how to do??? Someone who has the reputation he has should know how to create a style with longer hair.

Obviously none of your new Nick bashers have seen the older shows. I watched an episode just yesterday where he left the hair long, but gave the girl bangs, which looked fantastic on her. He has done different styles over the years, but because bobs are so hot right now, that's what he's giving the MOs. For a while it was leaving the hair long and giving them those awful "supermodel bangs" to the side of the face. He is current with what's out there, whether any of us like it or agree with him or not.

Awful cuts, and I don't have to be able to do hair or style hair to look at hair and see that its boring and too short. He needs to get some inspiration from what Hollywood is doing- Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts! All long hair, all beautiful- STOP CHOPPING!

Ok. Here is my opinion on Nick's haircuts. I actually like them for the most part. Yes, sometimes it gets old that he always makes people cut off their hair, but keep in mind, if my hair looks like trash when I go in, then a one time visit to a hairstylist can only do so much. Add to that split ends, you are going to have to cut off some hair. Now, perhaps, if say someone like me who gets malibu treatments every few months, and really takes care of their hair were to go to Nick, then perhaps he wouldn't do the same style all the time. My only complaint is that I don't think that the cuts are low maintenance. For instance, I have curly hair, so he may straighten my hair then try to cut it. With curly hair, you have to cut it curly. I understand the "shock value" but I am too lazy to fight my curls. I have to flow with them, so the right cut makes a big difference. That is my only complaint. Stop fighting the curls, and let them flow!

I am so tired of seeing Nick's so called styles that ruin these poor girls hair. Even my 65 year old mom who loves the show is horrified by his bad cuts. I just watched a 2007 repeat of Molly P., the wanna be fashionista whose hair he destroyed with yet another horrific razored bob, leaving her with no shape & highlighting the cowlicks. The only people that walk out with "decent" hair are those who are very vocal about what he can or cannot do. Come on guys, get a real stylist to help these girls...it is so bad...read your boards...no one likes his "super"cuts!

"No one likes his "super cuts"? I would disagree with that statement. Lots of the MOs like the cuts and have posted on this forum saying so. Lots of fans like them too, but it does seem that more people who don't like them post more often - perhaps because they feel more strongly. According to the MOs that have posted, Nick actually consults with them about what type of style they want and how much maintenance they want to do.

Interesting. Nick left lots of length on (fashion show producer) Jennifer's hair. Didn't any of the Nick bashers notice?

the quest on the show should find their OWN stylist. nick is a cutter NOT a styler. anyone can do hair cuttery cut on their own head. why waste time with him on the show. u are suppose to get a make over. great clothes, great makeup, BOWL hair cut...EACH TIME.
ARE THEY KEEPING NICK ON THE SHOW BECAUSE HE'S THE SON OF PRODUCERS??? he cant style hair worth crap
