if you want to go green with organic clothes it's horrible. I mean, have you seen some of the stuff that’s out there?!?!?! The manufactures should be fired! I want to see if Stacy and Clinton can make someone have a makeover from head to toe and staying friendly to out planet! That would be a good challenge.

I just caught the end of the show about Tara and eco-friendly fashion. I was horrified when she picked out a bamboo suit as her eco-friendly choice. Bamboo is NOT eco-friendly. It's just another way to make cellulosic rayon, rather than the normal wood pulp method. Once it's been processed it's chemically indistinguishable from rayon made from other sources. And the processing of rayon is pretty bad for the environment. It's important to get the word out that bamboo is great as a construction material, but not such a hot fashion choice.

I found this interesting about bamboo and the process:

Why isn't cotton considered organic? I saw the Sunny episode and she was vegan, so silk was out for her, but cotton worked. (I confess to some questioning when Sunny wouldn't wear animal products but the synthetics and all their chemicals were OK.)

But do you agree that reusing the vintage clothing is a good green way to be? I buy second hand clothing all the time, and I feel that it is. And often you can find things that are better quality than the same style in the stores. I especially love rummage sales and raiding my grandmother's closet (she was a seamstress and was very trendy). I find it a way to bond and to discover classic styles as well as find something that is one of a kind.

I quite agree, but I have two problems with going vintage. One is fit. We are getting larger and larger each generation, and I don't mean just chubbier. The other, is the costume effect of head to toe vintage.

I agree, vintage is the way to be!! Why waste perfectly good clothes? I always find stuff at second-hand stores; antique shops even! The clothes are awesome! In my opinion, they are so behind yet lightyears ahead of the current trends.

However, I do agree with mezzogoch concerning fit. One time, I found this awesome hippie dress... bright neon pink, green and yellow, and even had a hood. But it was unfortunately too tight. The one who owned that dress must have been very tall and very skinny... which is weird cuz I'm also skinny and yet it did not fit. But it was by far the coolest dress I ever saw. xD
