Quite honestly, it amazes me that some of you are just now seeing what many of us have been complaining about all along. S&C only know how to dress people who look good in the particular styles that they themselves wear. If any of you had looked at the picture of Stacy and Kathy Brier (Marcie on One Life to Live) after Stacy had styled her for the Daytime Emmy Awards last year, you would have known that Stacy had no clue about what she was doing. http://soapoperadigest.com/InWeekly/kathyBrierStylistL.jpg

That's not really the most flattering outfit. She looks like a linebacker. I'm not so sure it was a good idea to open her up at the top like that, and the rest of the dress doesn't have any shape.

I am REALLY sorry I missed this ep, and I hope they repeat it soon! But I wanted to weigh in anyway (no pun intended) on plus-sized shopping. Last year I was away from home, and was invited to an outdoor party. I hadn't packed any suitable clothes, so I went on a desperate shopping spree. In spite of going to one of Northern New Jersey's finest malls, I found NOTHING! Even at good stores (Lord and Taylor) I found poor cuts, drapey clingy fabrics that did not flatter my curves - well, I'm sure many of you have been there. I ended up not going to the event.

Even designers who include plus-sizes in their lines have only a small portion of their designs available in plus size. And how those are chosen is beyond me - gathered skirts, pleated pants, skirts broader than they are long and Lycra fabrics abound! It's time for a talented designer to step forward and say she (it has to be a she) is going to design only for the full-figured woman. There's a great business opportunity out there for somebody!

BTW, two years ago I bought a pair of pants and a shirt from Lane Bryant. I wore them once, and donated them to Goodwill.

hi all, I missed the episode under discussion, but I too have been really disappointed by the lack of less than skinny people on the show. Some of us have a little more to offer the world. I did see an episode the other night where the young lady had a horrible time shopping because there was nothing her size. Of course, she was trying on a 16, but that was probably the largest the store had. She was very discouraged, but the second day of shopping was with S&C and they were very supportive and helpful. They found most of her clothing at lane bryant. We have one here and there is very little to pick from unless you are into clubbing or something. I am over 50, not dead, but not into leather/denim mini skirts or shirts cut down to wherever!

mischabarton889, just to clarify...I thought Jeanine was a pretty girl. My comment above wasn't aimed at her, it was about the picture of Stacy standing next to the woman she'd styled. Just wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't slamming your friend. Big Grin
