I don't watch this show every week, so I can't comment on the family dynamics, other than to say there is definitely some tension.

However, I do have a couple of observations:
Matt is in bad shape. My dad had numerous orthopedic issues all his life, and he dreaded the winters. Oregon is cold and damp in the winter- this would make Matt's aches and pains even worse. Maybe he really needed to go to a warmer climate for some relief.

I think Jeremy does understand his dad's health is going downhill, and wants to do things while he can. Zach, on the other hand, may be in denial because he may face the same health issues himself someday.

I would agree that Zach has some attitude problems, but I also think it is very difficult for him to have a tall, good-looking, charming twin.

I think the whole family is having a hard time getting over Mike's death, and this is making existing problems worse.

At the end of the day, remember, editing can make any situation seem to be much different then it actually is.

I think your description of the home as having some tension is an understatement. LOL.

It's true that Matt has some serious health issues, but for some reason, when he sees a doctor or gets medical information, Amy rolls her eyes and says Matt is just over exagerating his condition. Yeah. Pretty sick IMO.

I hope Matt is able to keep cameras in the house. I would hate to see how Amy and one of his kids might treat him if he were bedridden. If he were just lying there helpless and dependent on Amy for care, God only help him.

I think he deserves to be treated like a human being. Despite his health, Matt is only middle age. I think he's in his 40's. I hope better times are on the way.

I agree. I think Amy rolls her eyes because it takes attention away from herself. She shows very little concern for her husband. Amy's actions give away her secrets.

Amy does not appear to be a very compassionate person, least of all in her husband's direction. Its very disturbing.

Zach's behavior is incredibly out of hand. No child should talk to their parent that way. We all have disagreements, but you don't talk to anyone this way. Zach treated his father horribly and it was hard to watch. Zach is so incredibly angry and he needs serious help. I think in some ways Zach blames Matt for his disability, especially when he sees his 3 siblings all of average height. I know he must be suffering, but that does not excuse his behavior.

I do agree that he is incredibly rude and disrespectful to his dad. He has some serious anger issues.

I don't like the way Amy came off this week waling in the room saying I think your father has had a little too much tonight and he's in that fram of mind. That makes it sound like he's drunk, but I don't think so. I think the cameras would show us something and it's not. I think he knows his heath is bad and he is in a frame of mind do to depression. I think he is suffering from depression and Amy wants us to think it's more. She was a wit*h this week. She was so happy that Molly and Zach did not go with their father. Jeremy said on the trip this could be the last one for him. Also I think people know when things are comeing to an end with themselves and I speaking from the same point of view as Matt so I have his understanding on what could be his last. He tried to tell that to Zach but Zach didn't want to hear it. I hope if he is bed bound one day he has compassionate people caring for him. Being bed bound is a hard life awful on the mind and that could be the reason he has this frame of mind, DEPRESSION.
