I am a mother of three boys all under the age of 8 and they are so much more respectful than any of these children. They have a beautiful home that they trash, they are constantly rude to their parents and do not appreciate what they have. These children need serious discipline...and they go to a Christian school...I wonder if they treat their teachers that way?
I blame Amy. Did you see that talk matt had with Zack about his best friend. Everything Matt said Zack had a little sassy comment back, then Matt says something and Zack just flips out on him. Why? Because his dad is joking around with him about his childhood friends?

Well then...give poor helpless Matt a pass on parenting. He must need a backbone.
Tonight it was demonstrated that both parents can be lax and uncooperative when it comes to disciplining the kids. Matt was hesitant about taking the phone away and kind of lagging behind Amy on this issue. To me it was a boneheaded idea to give Jacob a cell phone at this age anyway. A good idea would have been to at least require him to "earn" it by showing responsibility in other ways, first.
I agree as far as giving Jacob a phone for emergency purposes. You can ask the provider of the phone not to allow texting. If you've watched the media, the Roloffs have had problems with vandalism on the farm. It was stupid trusting a brat like Jacob to obey rules. Has he ever obeyed in the past? That was a costly lesson. Maybe the parents learned one this time. That bill was more than I make in a month and Jacob just laughed it off. What else is new, no respect as usual.
