I think a contributing factor to Zach's downfall in school and motivation in general has to do with Mike's death. Mike was Zach's soccer coach and close family friend...and not having Mike around during his last season of soccer during his senior year was and probably still is tragic for him.
Nope! I think not! Zach has been having a bad attitude for some time now and Amy does nothing to stop it. Matt does try to take a firm hand with the kids to teach them some dicipline but Amy always comes against him!

Only Zach knows for sure how he is handling his grief but, I think people on this board are offering up Mike's death as an excuse for Zach and his attitude far too much.

All right, I'm going to say it. During Mike's memorial Zach spoke of Mike. It wasn't so much of Mike, but of Mike seeing Zach's potential and knowing he was good and having him play the game and coaching him on to be better and better. Also, when he said "Mike was a good guy.....for the most part". That to me was like nails on a chalkboard. To blame his behavior on Mike's passing, is a huge stretch to say the least.
