Ok. I've watched this show periodically since its inception but, I finally have to say something that is on my mind. I thnk I've had enough.
At the beginning of this show, it was facinating to watch the struggles of this family. (from home furnishings that were too big for them and their struggle to make ends meet.) I think it showed a facinating view into the world of LP's as well as the everyday struggle of every person with a family.
However, this show has become a marathon on how a family can spend ridiculous amounts of money. Each week they go on a new vacation or build some monolithic new attachment to what I would describe as a compound. Is this how normal American's live? Is this mass spending an attempt by the producer to alleviate some guilt about the Roloff's situation? Does that make it real?
I have grown tired of the new pool, the new vacation to exotic places,(that viewers can vote on to pick the location) the new garage, the new cars, ect, ect.
I guess I picked the wrong career. I should have been a pumpkin farmer that sold step stools.
When will this, "slap in the face" to everyday, hardworking American's end?
As for me and my family, we are tuning out.

Good intentions + lots and lots of money = ugly reality.

I totally disagree with the above posts. LPBW is a wonderful show that the entire family can watch. How many TV programs can you say that about?

I think eventually that the Roloffs will tire of all the "haters" and halt their participation in this show...but I hope it isn't any time soon because this show is full of many positives!!

Here we go again with the "haters" terminology. Gee what goes around comes around.

You have your opinion, others have theirs. Isn't America wonderful that way? It is a discussion board after all.

I agree the show has many positives and I love the show. I have heard next season will be the last season for the show. The decision does not have anything to do with negative comments or opinions, in fact the negative posters actually keep the ratings up. Jeremy and Zachary will be graduating from high school next year and the family will have done four seasons at that time. I am greatful for all the time they have shared. There is still another year of filming to be done for the show.

I have watched this show from the beginning. THey is no way that the show you see today is the the same same Roloof shiw,. Matt is so greedy! He has no concern for his family! For Zack to go to a Winter Dance in nasty sneackers is beyond me, Any needs to be with her famiily...........................................

Presto chango, a run-down house is now a mansion! Did anybody catch the line "we're going to pay for this as we go, no loans"?. The show is now a no go. The kids are brats except for Zach. Where will the next exotic vacation be? My bet is Europe! Didn't Molly suddenly develop an interest in geography and world travel? Amy finally seems happy. I guess she doesn't have to work at the preschool anymore and now she's calling Matt "honey". You never heard that in the earlier episodes. What next? A heliport? Didn't Matt say he loved riding helicopters? This show has just become a joke and a slap in the face to the working man and the middle class families who are losing their homes. This family was a normal family in the beginning and their initial message was very important now it's just all about materialism and shallowness and greed. It's a huge disappointment to many of their loyal viewers. It's also a shame the way they discarded their friends artwork from Jacob's room. How long was that beautiful art actually there? The funniest part is that they want us to believe that they are making all these changes to their home by selling pumpkins and foot stools. HaHaHa! Amy also wants us to believe that there is only a dollar in the kid's college funds. We all know that TLC is this family's lottery ticket. We should all get a reality show! I think it's time to pull the plug on this unreality show!!!

It used to be a show about how they had to do things a little differently than the rest of us, but now it is how the strata has changed for them, and lets flaunt it at every turn. When the McMansion is finished, what is next, the Mcbed & breakfast, the Hummer for the twins? Really, where does the living differently stop? A Hummer limo for a Christian School winter formal? Please. You would think Jeremy and his friends, were the most popular, and why were Zach and Danni left to ride in the van? That was odd?

what on earth is wrong with Christian kids renting a Hummer Limo to take them to the event????

Christian school or not, what was the Hummer shot all about? Car rentals? More cool things the Roloff family does? A push for high school students to expect their parents to rent a limo, too? I suppose Zach in the van was to allow filming of his interaction with a "tall" girl.

Perhaps I am fortunate that I really don't know one limo from another, but now that I know it's a Hummer..that means big bucks rental, yes?

No surprises...all of them are all about spending. The most, biggest, most bells and whistles seem to be their preferences in material things.

I am pretty sure they are NOT going to go back to the original premise of letting the public share their struggle to make ends meet...so lamentations about that are going to be fruitless. jmo, tho.

Its NOT out of the ordinary for a group of kids to get together and rent an expensive limo for a formal event. Spread the cost out among a bunch and its not as bad. No one from MY kids small school does this, but its really not that unusual at all. And yes, Proms and the equivalent are very extravagant; doing something over the top that night is part of it.

Yep. Prom night ..kids do pitch in and rent limos etc. My daughter's friends were going to do that last year but she and her date decided not to join in with the limo thing because they wanted to drive themselves so they could leave when they wanted and come home when they wanted. (fine with me..saved us some cash). BUT that is part of prom.

As I have stated before I have no prob with the Roloffs expanding their world, weather with trips, the pool, new vehicles, the new additon, etal.God Bless em'!What I do have a problem with is there is no balance with these people?!? My Partner and I along with our Twins enjoy the nicer things life has to offer, albeit we both work everyday, but we keep a balance, our girls excell in their studies, our home is presentable,we travel every Summer, and our children have manners and treat others with respect!Matts ego has totally transformed,he was such a sweet and humble man at the genesis of his show,I truly miss that side of him.

I agree Hisown,in the enclave where My family and I reside every June people come out to see the Seniors n Juniors head off to Prom in their finery and to see all of the different Limos, yes that was a Hummer but last June we saw our neighbors son n 2 of his friends n their dates drive to Prom in a rented Rolls Royce Silver Cloud! I had no problem with Jeremy and his friends n the Hummer,as you stated when they split the price it 'aint' all that, but I have no doubt the Roloffs treated. And thats o.k. too!

Why is it that posters are jealous for pointing out something they see on the show? Isn't that jumping to conclusions? Besides, we're here to talk about the show, right?

I don't lump ALL posters who point out something on the show... indeed, * I * point out things on the show and I'm not jealous. That being said, I do sense jealousy among some posters... am I right? I don't know.

Is there anyone there but me that thinks the conversation about not having enough money was scripted for the viewers so that they would not concentrate on the huge influx of money the Roloffs are getting for these unreality series.
Somebody from tlc must read these posts and then they script dialog to buffer some of the complaints from the viewers!!!

Scripted? Perhaps. Motive to deflect from the money... not IMHO.

Yes, I do agree with you. I do think some of the dialogue is scripted. Amy and Matt do not have any money troubles anymore and all the conversations they have about money is a big joke!
