Hey monteen thats a great question it took lots of thought. I believe a great new reality show would be Honestly a good one. Between the rock of love, tila tequila, and LPBW its HORRIABLE. Every reality show ive seen is just soooooooooooooooo... stupid. Maybe a show about puppys. It seems every show starts off good and just ends scripted and planned to keep it going. reality is fake these days. A good show would be good if these boards were televised. JUST KIDDING I love you guys.

Obviously, we don't really want someone to follow us around and view our lives. Not that big of a deal taylor...just posting a question. Seriously, stay calm...forget it.

Good Question:

1/ A show about dogs and their companionship to the owners.
My mother lives alone, she is widowed and most of her children live out of town. Her dog has been a great companion for her. It is amazing how they communicate.

2/ The life of a minister.

My best friend married a minister. They have been married for 20 years and been in ministry the entire time. Never a dull moment. 24 hour a day job. I think it would be interesting to follow them for 6 months. See how they handle all situations, even the ones that involve their children...teens.

I hope someone listens Monteen. Smile

Good ideas juicy.

I lived in a ministers home for sometime when I was a pre-teen to teenager. They would get calls 24 hours a day...even on vacation. They received both praise and criticism but just kept on doing their job.

Of course the dog and their comforting companionship sounds very interesting. Dogs are amazing pets/friends.

I was sort of taken aback when I saw that TLC now has game shows and competitive reality shows. They really are changing their format!

I guess it's TLC's equivalent to ABC, CBS, and NBC's habitual summer reruns and introduction of off the wall, hit or miss, 'test shows', a.k.a. pilots.

I am so disappointed in seeing the format change. Keep the competitive reality and the game shows on the other networks. They are silly programs that are not produced well.

I would love to be the camera person that followed someone around. I don't think I could be normal in front of a camera. (I don't think I act to normal not being in front of a camera.) Big Grin

Char, I'll be glad to follow you with a camera. We'll both be rich!

A great idea would be about a coffee shop that I visit in pittsburgh,pa called 21st Street Coffee and Tea. They are entrepreneurs who are meeting the challenges of running their own business and working to make it the best coffee shop in the city and are well known in the coffee industry. They have interesting customers as well as interesting predicaments that they encounter on a daily basis running their business (2 locations in the city). They were 2 engineers who worked in corporate america. They quit all of that to live the american dream and start their own business.

My husband and his childhood bestfriend started a racing engine shop together several years ago. They are really well known for their ability to make anything extremely fast for land or sea. Two of the nicest and different guys you'll ever meet but in completely opposite ways. So are their personal lives; my husband and I are married and have two kids semi normal but our first born I brought with me to the marriage, his partner is over 30 and still living with his mom and not dating but dating his girlfriend of 12 years at least we think so but he won't say. The one employee they have may or may not be a twenty something bisexual he hasn't decided yet. He is very cute and always with a different woman, but doesn't know why he can't keep a girlfriend, he thinks he is too cute for them and that scares them away. The customers range in age from teenager to elders and from poor to super super rich. They are all characters and everyday is crazy funny and always busy. I think we would make a great reality show, we're an eclectic group that laughs, fights, and builds amazing engines together.

I would love to see a show about families who have special needs children. My daughter is now 2 and has Cerebral Palsey. She was born as a micro-preemie at 25 weeks. (1 pound 11 ounces) I couldn't believe the number of babies in the Duke Intensive Care Nursery or Transitional Care Nursery. I quickly learned that there really is NO information out there for a parent like me....and the internet only makes one scared and paranoid. A show about children and the families who persevere would be great.

I'd sort of be interested in the life of someone who makes post after post after post on a message board. What kind of life might this person live when he's not on a message board? Or multiple boards. What is so compelling?

I'm not sure if it would be an uplifting show to showcase people who started new businesses last year or this year. I'm one of them and it's pretty bleak, in spite of my very positive attitude. I have a great product that doctors endorse and have loyal customers that can't live without my organic formula but because of the economy, most people can't let go of $10 for something new. I've had 2 other businesses over the last 20 years and it's never been harder for me to make a sale as it is now. People have to choose between buying my product or going out to lunch or a movie. I'm not going to let the economy kill me though, I have invested in plenty of product, labels, bottles, etc. Right now, the taxes are my only expense and who knows how long I'll be able to handle that without good sales. I'd love for TLC to follow me around and see the good my product does. It would be like winning the lottery.

I have what I consider a minor disability that keeps me from doing a bunch of driving to market the stuff but the disability is the reason for the development of my product. It all goes hand-in-hand and I know that eventually things will work out.

I think that most of us want things to be resolved "right now". We have to wait and let things settle down. There is a season for all things and the most important thing for us to learn is to be patient and let things happen in their own time.

# "Who dares to teach must never cease to learn."

# "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
-- Henry Brooks Adams

Hello,

I'm Beth and I teach Spanish, French and Japanese to middle school and high school students on ground and online. I'm also trained to teach Spanish to administrators and teachers in the Clark County School District. I believe these quotes to be true because they not only apply to me but all of my colleagues across the US. In order for us to make an impact on the future we have to continue learning and updating our credentials. This is costly and the public doesn't understand the fiscal crunch it bears on our wallets. But, we do it for the greater good of our students. In order to maintain my job, I
picked up Japanese and French so I could run my explorations classes, and it has been fun. My idea for a reality show would be "Millennium School Marm." I believe it would provide the public an awareness of all the late night and weekend grading and planning that goes into teaching in the millennium. Also, it could show the life and times of a teacher in the millennium and how she balances professional duties with a personal life...not always easy. I
also believe that it would be an excellent medium for our Governor, Jim Gibbons, to view as he has proposed a 16% salary cut. One can only imagine how this would affect our lives with mortgages, car payments and of course student loans to pay back. This is an atrocity! Here we have people from AIG who easily accept their millions in bonus pay from our tax money, and then we take a look at school teachers nationwide who go out and spend hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars to provide materials such as copy paper, crayons, colored pencils, etc...for the classroom. This is not just. I believe TLC would do America a favor by
hosting "Millennium School Marm" and I could expose all of the facets that go into teaching our youth in the millennium while maintaining a balance. On a final note, I love teaching but what our state governor has proposed is a direct insult into all of the training and preparation that goes into building sound minds for eternity. "Millennium School Marm" would awaken those who think we have "summers off." We don't ! We work summer school, substitute and take addition and required classes to maintain our notable chosen profession. I will never cease to learn because I will never cease to educate my awesome students.

Cordially,

Beth Leinwand

My name is Janell and I know that my show idea could bring even MORE viewers to your already great network. My idea is for a talk show. Not just any talk show though. Think "The View", but with REAL, every day mothers. Any mother that has been to a play group or a "Mom's Night Out" will tell you that the BEST information comes from other mothers. Rather it be the best diaper rash remedy, to how to get that romance back in your life, REAL moms have it. Think of the advertisement revenue that would roll in? Every episode would be like a playgroup (without the yelling and dirty diapers!).
There are mothers of all types...we all have different ideas and different views on things. WE have a voice too that needs to be heard!
I can't wait to hear from you to get my show started! I know we could find other fabulous women to do the show with me!

How about giving the board regulars webcams and doing a relity show of the TLC boards?

I can only imagine what some of you must look like sitting at your computers typing away and the comments to others in the room that don't make it to the boards!

We could have a special cam for Mod-Ivy, she must have tons of stories to tell!

And every week there could be new trolls!

I think they should do a show about Alaskan Natives that way they can clear up some misconceptions about us and show that we have some feelings, especially about what they say about us. They can show natives who live in a village and natives who live in cities and show their hard adjustments.

Please consider it. Greatly appreciated

ok So I know this family that is the best! It is a single young mom with 4 kids, her older sister and 2 younger brothers. This Family is fun busy and the kids keep you laughing and on your feet. Both women are young, beautifull independent go to school work full time attend the gym & give the kids all the attention they can. I think this is a great idea to motivate single moms and independent women!

I was so excited to see this topic because I have been wanting to propose my idea to TLC for a long time. The majority of reality shows that are on the air now deal with families in extraordinary circumstances. My idea is to have a reality show that deals with the things that real families deal with. I am a 33 year old highschool teacher, wife, and mother of 5. We are from Brigham City, Utah which is a pretty small community. However, our story is interesting because we have had a colored past and many obstaces to overcome to get where we are now. My husband and I have been married for three years (we also have a great love story!) When we married, I had 4 children of my own and had suffered a 7 year marriage to an alcoholic. My story includes starting a family at a young age, marriage, divorce, putting myself through college, working two jobs, and being a single mother. Now, our issues deal with blending our family together, raising kids (15, 13, 8, 6, 1), working, and just making ends meet. My family is amazing! We are down to earth, fun, happy, hilarious and willing to share the challenges we have faced and are still facing, to help others who share our trials. We would love an opportunity to thank those who have helped us along our difficult journey. I have so much more to share about our lives and situation, what we hope to accomplish, and what we see in our future. We see a great opportunity to share our real reality story with TLC and the rest of the world that is dealing with our same issues.

I think Native Alaskans, probably in a family, would be a winner tho! And it truly, for most, would personify the Learning aspect of the channel's name. Not a subject that has been written to death already.

I think TLC should limit the shows with each familiy to six months, because when they go longer than that, the fame and money from the show drastically changes their lives. It would be interesting for them to stay with different families all over the world for 6 months at a time, just focus on one family at a time. Perhaps one conseravative family in Japan, and one that isn't so conservative. Just so we get a different perspective.

I think it would be very interesting to see how others live around the world.

I would like to suggest a reality show about a Mormon family from Utah. There is a great misconception about the Mormon religion especially outside of Utah. Yes, there are Mormons who are zealots, who are over the top, and rather self righteous. But there are a great deal of them who are down to earth, real people. We don't practice polygamy, wear bonnets and pioneer dresses, and home school our children. We are just like other families... We fight, swear, make bad choices, and screw up just like everyone else. We would like the opportunity to show the world that we are normal, good people..... without horns.....and 7 wives....... and 54 kids...... You get the idea!

I have to agree with the comment that reality shows should follow families for a set amount of time...six months to a year. Because it seems that after so long, the reality is lost and shows become scripted.

Hello- I like thousands of others came up with what I think is a great idea for a new show. My idea is instead of kids you have seniors. You take two seniors and move them in with their son and daughter-in law, taking them out of the city and moving them to the country. The seniors have some health issues but are active. The daughter in-law becomes a stay at home activity adviser, care giver when needed. On top of that you put the daughter-in-laws two very active senior parents nearby. The show could show the joy and stress of senior issues. Two seniors are like taking care of 8 kid!!! I have a cast already. The show would be limited to one year. Please tell me what you think.

As a senior (77) I can tell you that we are pretty much invisible in most situations. I doubt that a show about older people has commerical appeal.

By the way, I left NYC to move into a newly built apartment at my daughter and son-in-law's house. It is working beautifully.

I read about Dogs, trained in prison to help wonded soldiers.

I think a show featuring different types of service animals every week would be cool!

We all know about seeing eye dogs but dogs do lots of other assistive things too.

A good reality show would be "The Secret life of a REAL Military Family." know the true story behind the uniform. our family would be good for this idea because what the military does not want everyone else to know how they deal with a family in crisis. Also what they put our military family through for the pass 2 years. you would not believe our story. if interested in our idea please contact us at the e-mail above.

I know they can do a show on my family. I am 31 and my husband is 34, we have 8 children none were on fertility treatments just one right after the other. We have 4 boy and 4 girls ages 9months to 10 years old. Crazy, yes! however we are hopefully done since my husband is going in to get sniped. Smile We have had a few business in the past that have failed and now we are just trying to survive like everyone else. My husband works his butt off and is gone a lot, his job just dropped his pay do now we are beyond tight but we are sill living. I cant seam to get my kids quite under control and struggle with keeping the house clean and organized. I am about to embark on homeschooling them this year so that ought to be fun. We have been trying to buy a home and have been going thru the process of a short sale for 3 months already and have been on edge because of our finances changing and how it will affect our ability to house now. We both came from messed up childhoods are are trying our best to make it better and break the crazy cycle so our children can grow up better than us and have a better shot. To keep the show real how about not getting any kind of payment until after the season so that people can see how we deal with the chaos of life on a daily basis, maybe bring in people to teach us how to do it right. Show us how to keep 8 kids from driving you nuts at times and how to keep the house cleaned and better organized. We can show how we struggle to keep the utilities from being shut off and the rent paid and how we may have to get creative on the food side. I have plenty that goes on in a day with my children that would entertain anyone for hours. Smile
