I'm reposting this, because for some reason, my posts are heavily monitered.

As for the eating...
-The mouth open: I can completely understand chewing with your mouth open. I don't have a malformed jaw, but I do have a huge problem breathing out my nose. I guess you'd label me as a mouth breather. Some of it is allergies, but there are other underlying problems. I find it very difficult to eat without my mouth open. When I am at home and it's my wife, son, and I... I chew like a cow. When we eat in public, I try really hard, but sometimes I still chew like a cow on bad days. On good days, I can manage to eat with my mouth "cracked."

Eating with the hands: Certain foods it's acceptable. Certain foods it's just gross. Spaghetti? My two year old uses a fork (most of the time).

Spitting out the food: In a napkin, please! If you want to give it to the dog... by all means... go ahead. Just wait until AFTER the meal. I am guilty of feeding the dog at the table, but I don't just hock random things up.

You know what, that comment was uncalled for. As an overweight person myself, I'd like you to know that these kinds of remarks hurt my feelings. Large people are people first. We have all the same feelings, hopes and dreams that you do. When we go to the movies or anywhere else we like to enjoy ourselves just like you do. You might not realize it, but you are causing pain for others with remarks like you made. Think about it.
I agree with you winnie! What an ignorant statemen to make. I struggle with my weight all the time, and for some remark like this from an ignorant person, just makes my blood boil! I wonder if this person is ugly? I think its hight time that we start picking on ugly people.

Although the LPBW premise is about the struggles LPs have, on a larger scale, many of the challenges, stereotypes, cruel remarks, and ignorant misperceptions can be related to by persons who are considered something other than 'normal' or 'average'.

It amazes me how inconsiderate and rude so many people actually are. I often wonder if it's their lack of self esteem that promotes such negative and hurtful behavior.

Being an LP, having a weight challenge, being disabled, or any number of 'differences' is likely not what one wished for. If judgmental people were made to "walk a mile in their shoes", maybe, just maybe, the world would be a better place. Sadly, that is never going to happen and 'different' people will continue to endure what inconsiderate souls dish out.

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

autumnrain416 ~ Because you’ve labeled yourself, how did you write it, “I am after all this boards new appointed spelling cop thats me Jeneliyan”, would you be so kind as to not engage in such judgmental behavior? I feel the need to point out a few OBVIOUS errors in the content of your post… may I?

1. “hey everybody” – ‘hey’ is the first word in your sentence and the first letter of the first word in a sentence is capitalized – ‘Hey everybody’ and you could add a comma afterward.
2. “interested, but” requires a space between the coma and the word but
3. “wait lets go back” should have a comma after ‘wait’ and ‘lets’ is a combination of ‘let and us’, therefore it requires an apostrophe between the t and the s – “let’s”
4. “i’m full of it” – “i’m” requires a capital “I” – “I’m”
5. I don’t have the time to go into the lengthy, run-on sentence that you wrote. It’s horrible.
6. “name calling too because” is grammatically incorrect. A coma is required between ‘calling’ and ‘too’, as well as between ‘too’ and ‘because’ –“ name calling, too, because”
7. “thats just me” – multiple errors here. This statement should stand alone. “thats”, again, should have an apostrophe between the ‘t’ and the ‘s’ – “that’s” – that is.
8. “and lests not forget” – makes no sense. I’m assuming you meant to type “let’s”, as in “let us”. No matter, it’s still wrong.
9. “Just for further reference.” That is an incomplete sentence if I’ve ever read one.
10. “three hundred pounders eat” – the word ‘pounders’ has an ‘s’ to show possession and requires an apostrophe after the ‘s’ (plural) – "pounders’"

At this point, I’m going to give up on correcting the multiple spelling and grammatical errors I haven't pointed out. Guess what? There are gobbs of them!

Do, please, reconsider being the board’s, how did you put it… “I am after all this boards new appointed spelling cop thats me Jeneliyan,, LOL dont mess with me!”. Either you’ve not done well in school, or it’s been too long since you’ve had any grammar or spelling lessons. It is my recommendation that you "Don’t mess with the board".

Do stop, please, if not only to stop making a fool of yourself.

It's apparent that either you’ve not done well in school, or it’s been too long since you’ve had any grammar or spelling lessons. Don’t mess with the board.

Written with all due respect,
me

Maybe I'll have ritarig have a look at this, too. RITARIG!!!

Here's where you can shine, ritarig. I know you're chomping at the 'spelling and grammatical error' bit. Maybe it's me, but the above poster, autumnrain416, describes herself as the self appointed spelling cop! KRAAAAAAZY! Oxymoron in my book - spelling cop that can't spell.

Please excuse my ranting, fellow board members who are familiar with me. I'm having a stressful day. Wink

I forgot to mention one thing, I do not condone comments such as "While we're at it, why not complain about how gross it is to watch three hundred pounders eat at the movies? ", as I replied on 06-09-08, above.

My written 'attack' at autumn was due to her/his 'holier than thou' attitude.

Again, I'm having a stressful day. Boo hoo for me.

Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we actually talk about the show. What a novel idea on a LPBW board!!!! Big Grin

We might even want to talk about watching the Roloffs eat. Now, that is horrifyingly rude! And horrifyingly disgusting!

I just read this thread from the beginning... what a waste of space! This thread should be closed.

Why I added to it today, I don't know. I read the latest post (written about an hour and a half before mine) and took it from there.

I was embarassed to read how childish and ridiculous most of it was. I, too, am ashamed of, and embarassed for, myself - that I went all out to chew out a self-imposed 'spelling cop', and one who probably doesn't post any longer.

I'll try NOT to post on a stressful day... cross my heart! Smile

Hmmm... wait a minute - I'd never be posting if I eliminated stressful days! Wink

It did get off track. A few of us tried to bring it back to watching the Roloffs eat. Time will tell if it worked!

yikes! It did get off track.

I know a lot of it was about spelling and grammatical errors.
There are a lot of posts with errors, but if I can't read it because of the errors, I scroll by, and if I can at least make it out then I'll read it. To me, it's a forum, not an English or Language class, so I do not care if someone has bad grammar or spelling. There are WAY more important things in life to worry about.
Like the Roloff's eating gosh darn it! And even in the reruns I've seen off and on lately, besides Zach, Amy is the worst about manners, even when she is correcting Jacob about his! You would think the MOM would try and have some, at least to set an example. sheesh.

Message boards get off topic. You can only say so much about something. Bantering back and forth in a silly manner is fun. I don't take any message board so seriously that I can't joke around a bit.

But I will say that getting off topic to go on and on about a completely different subject that has nothing to do with the show at all and is not humorous, bothers me......

Yep, this is petty, but watching Amy using her fingers to put food in her mouth while simultaneously correcting Jacob for his table manners was confusing to me, to say the least.

Hey, I'm on topic!

I've read multiple times about Zach spitting food for, what, the dog, cat? I didn't see that scene, or maybe the episode. Did that really happen?

Oh, I did see Zach spit food out in the van once when he was with friends.

Yes, Zach does a lot of spitting. He spit food out on the floor for the dog and laughed and so did Amy. He spit food out in the van and he spit stuff out in the living room. He shoved game pieces up his nose, eats with his mouth open and food falling out and just does a variety of gross things.

I still like him. He is one of my favorite Roloffs.

Are you a 'closet spitter', yourself mort???? Just joshin' ya!!!

NO WAY! Amy spit her food out for a reason other than she was choking on it????

mort,

Yep..Zach got his spitting skills from his mother.
yep too..one of my favorites..and if I'm surprised unexpectedly by his "spitting" or "grossness", while I am eating while I am watching it, I too, am almost a spitter from about gagging from watching it..
but yet, I do.

Come to think of it, I hardly sit still during an episode of LPBW. Sometimes I hear it from a distance as I'm doing something in the kitchen or focusing on my folding clothes.

I've 'turned on' about 80% of the LPBW episodes, but of the 80%, seems I've missed intregal moments of grossness, thank goodness!
