TLC what are you doing? You have managed to ruin the Gosselin family, promos for OCC infer that there is trouble between father and son, and now you are you are filming Matt and Amy is such a bad way. How can any of you sleep at night knowing what you are doing to these families? I guess ruining families is what makes money. Ratings, rating, ratings that is all you care about. I am sick of TLC!!!

Have you noticed that ever since this family has been experiencing tension, these boards have lit up? The tension stirs ratings. I'm sure this cable network is thrilled that we care so much.

I think we are wiser now. I don't plan on watching this garbage again.

I agree. Let's all boycott the message board and the show. Just maybe TLC will stop and leabr these families with the dignity they have left.

why are people blaming the show?

We are blaming TLC because they are the ones who decide what will be shown. We see about 40 minutes of their interactions, but the producers can manipulate the contents toward a particular bent. They had good viewer numbers when the couple on one of their other shows broke up. I would guess that, based on those results, they have decided to show us the controversy in the Roloff house. But I also think they miscalculated. People expect more of the Roloff's and have been turned off by the latest shows. We shall see.

I'll bet against you based on the trainwreck analogy. People can't bring themselves NOT to look.

Wanna place a $10 cyber bet on this? Smile

Not a betting woman. Smile Don't you think we are really just offering our comments based on what we see and what our own experiences have been. Some posters are quite emotional in their responses. Someone said that six months after this show, they are still together.

Of course I do. I was just bein' sportin' about it.

All in all, we're all a bunch of people poking our noses into other people's business. What's entertaining to me is how upset/angry/emotional some people get when you disagree or indicate that you don't take them seriously. I take so much of this tongue-in-cheek yet some people get downright indignant and post "you're not the boss of me" kind of posts, which really amuses me. It's been a long time since high school for me.

Oh, live a little. Take me up on my bet. What're you afraid of? That I'll send out a goon to collect? Okay, maybe I would've.....

Six months after this show is off the air (including reruns, if that's possible), most of us will forget the Roloffs.

I've forgotten what the bet was about!!!

I have too much time on my hands, I will admit. I have piles of paper, receipts, cards and letters, paid bills, magazines and catalogues, bank statements--all needing to be filed or discarded. It is what I should be doing instead of coming here. Ah well, there is always tomorrow, I think. At 77, one is never quite so confident.

I hear you (about the Alzheimer's-like affliction). I think it's pretty funny since I never forget anything very important. When I miss something important, however, I will lose my sense of humor.

I was just betting you that LPBW (as a TLC program) will thrive through all this strife because strife is what people like. But geez, it's no good betting against someone who forgets so easily. I can hustle you for 1000 cyber bucks instead of 10 and you'll willingly "pay" and what would be the fun of that?

Smile

Buy green bananas, regardless.

Why green bananas? Some kind of code? I try to keep up but this is new to me.

If we lose our sense of fun and humor, life is tougher. I exercise with a lot (notice: there is no such word as "alot") of women in their 60, 70s and 80s, and we are always kidding and laughing. Keeps us young.

George Burns of Burns and Allen (recall he lived to be 100 or so) always joked that at his age, he no longer bought green bananas (because they might outlive him).
