With all the new screen names and exciting posts, I can't help but wonder if some of you would like to tell us a little something about yourself.
Ground rules are a must, for your safety, the Internet has many snakes in the grass as we know.
Our dominant female Mod_kelly watches her pups (us) like a goshawk...No "real" first or last names, no nicknames, no addresses, a general indication of where you live is OK, no phone numbers or email addresses.
If this does happen, we can expect to be deleted.
Also some of you may post and an electronic review devise will detect a pre-programmed "Trigger" word. Your post will not be posted until reviewed by a living breathing person. If it is deemed acceptable, it will be posted. It not, it will end up in the Kalahari Desert in a bolt hole! That is the way of mod-kelly and AP to keep this a *nice* place for all of us to visit and talk about our meerkats.
So this is an invite to all to say hi, but if you do not that is ok too. Enjoy our forum.
Hi, im like da newest litter. from mom (mob_kelly). im still getting used to this stuff but i dont know how to add a question. can u plez tell me? I have something really important to ask.
Up at the top there is a tab called -new- with a yellow folder, click on that and it will open another window and just fill it in with a subject and then your question in the body of the message.
I'm really new here but not so new to the whole meerkat outlook. I wanted to post here first to introduce myself so it doesn't seem like i'm just posting randomly in the forums.
Hi, Good to see some very new screen names to talk about Flower, Zaphod, Naughty Pups and the Whiskers, the Lazuli and all the other mobs.
Not only am I totally facinated by these little fuzzies, but I have 3 cats. I think I am right when I say all of us here are animal lovers. We have cats, dogs, rats and some of the cutest ferrets you have ever seen. As you check out the posts you will see links to pictures of pets.
I even suspect most of us would like to have a meerkat, but that is against the law. They are wild animals and I can just see them digging in my sofa.
Hi, I have been here for a bit - November maybe? It will say on the side of my post when I registered but I was reading posts for about 3-4 weeks before I registered and replied -
I live in NJ (pretty big state - not too specific) I have 2 dogs 6 cats 3 rabbits a mouse - 5 hamsters - and some other little critters - frogs, toads, fish - etc. You would think I was a kid but no - I am 39 again!!!!
I only have 1 dog, a yorkie named Stormy Dragon who is 13rs old and my faithful companion. Of course my daughter and family are living with me right now and they have another dog and a cat so I do have my share of animals in the house
My Granddaughter and I have been watching MM since maybe the 4th episode in season one. Brianna is 8 and she knows all about CL Shakespeare and Tosca, she cried when Tosca was banished.
I would not want to have a meerkat as a pet because they need to be in the wild with each other but I would love to have the chance to go there and see them. Maybe in another life I will come back as a meerkat?
I am 36yo and i cried when Tosca was evicted!!!! I have a dog that is part Chihuahua and Papillion. Picture a chihuahau with the big Papillion ears. I have taught her lots of tricks but my favorite one she does is called the meerkat-she sits on her haunches and looks up at the ceiling but sometimes when i tell her meerkat she thinks I am calling one of our 2 cats over. I also have a fair fish for almost 1 1/2 years. Oh i also have a 10 yo daugter who likes to flip around alllll the time. I think meerkats are the cutest animals in the world, but i worry so about them.
Hi. I started watching when the first episode aired last summer. I'd seen a special on meerkats a few years ago and thought they were adorable and fascinating. I read all the posts on both boards for a couple of months before I joined in November. I'm a semi-retired computer geek with only one cat; my dog died 17 months ago. At one time I had 4 cats and a black rabbit.
meerkat1212 I am so sorry to read about your dog. I know that this beloved pet is waiting on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge as are so many of my adored kitties and the pets of many who post here. Playing with them are many sweet meerkats.
I would also like to invite all to read the thread on this page of the East Coast Meerkat Society and to visit our web site
www.meerkatsrule.org.
We started as meerkat lovers and we still are, more than ever, but we have changed our mission to helping meerkats where we can.
Thank you, ccatz, for the lovely image of my dog (and my 8 late cats and 1 rabbit) playing with meerkats. I hope they were there to welcome Tosca, if she did pass over.
I have been here since October 2006. I have three dogs. A female Shih-ztu named Rosey. I have male Maltese named, Butch. I have a female Yorkie named Toby. I have a big orange cat named Big Tom. I love to write poems. I have poems posted on the spolier site. It is entitled "My Odes to the Whiskers Family." Please read and enjoy. And again welcome to you all.
New
This is my first time on the forum. My screen name is squirrellygirly because I feed the squirrels and chipmunks every day in my backyard, my neighbors think I'm "nuts". Meerkats remind me of my squirrels sometimes, but meerkats are much more social. I'm 41 years old and a marathon runner. Wish I could run as fast as a meerkat!
I have a lot of pets. Too many to name. Yes, I'm probably the youngest member here. I am an expert on animals, so I knew what a meerkat is before MM, but I didn't get into them until MM started. I joined in...I forgot. November I think. My favorite animal is a Grevy's Zebra...and that's all for now.
Welcome everyone!! It's great to see so many new fans have joined our mob! And like the Whiskers, our Mob only gets better the bigger it gets.
I've been around this burrow for a while now. This is actually the first forum I have ever participated in, and when I started out I would have never in a million years guessed it would have led me to where I am today with the meerkats or the group of people I have come to know through it! I don't know if this is true of all forums, but I tend to think that ours is a special one.
I have been roving since the seasons finale and have not spent any time here recently, but it is good to know that you can, in fact, go home again.
I too love all animals & am owned by 2 cats myself. I have had a variety of pets throughout my life from pythons to skunks but cats are always going to be my favorites.
I have shed many, many tears during the first 2 seasons of MM and I expect to shed more in the upcoming Season 3, but I still can't wait for it to start.
