I"m a mac person myself Right now I'm using an Apple imac with 3.06 GHz processing speed Core 2 Duo processor's 320GB HD disk + 1TB external drive, and 4GB's of RAM upgraded it myself I hate Florida weather it's so weird it can be 100 degrees outside and raining Oh well at least I only have to deal with it a month out of the year Have a good afternoon guys
Kescha and Meerkatlover I am in awe. Anybody who knows what on earth to do with the innards of these things is a god to me. I'm fine using this thing as long as it works, but when it has a mind of its own, I am screaming for help.
Fortunately my youngest son installs security systems and know volumes about computers. He takes the old arcade games from 80s(?) and computerizes them - like Pacman and Tetris - just for fun and small profit.
ML775 the thing about the hot FL weather is that there is always water around to cool off. There is ocean everywhere, pools and its air conditioned where ever you go and it showers all the time. Here in the Midwest it just gets hot. Either it is hot and never rains or its hot and steamy and rains all the time. We're having 90 or above all week, no rain. I don't have air in the house so its sticky. But then again, its not 20" of partly cloudy that you have to shovel.
Well It's not really as complicated as it sounds Thats cool your son can do that stuff, it's always good to have at least on Tech-Suave person in the family Yeah I guess your right, Just can't wait to get back to good ole' honest to god california weather instead of this weird tropical decieving weather LOL! I like Ohio weather I've been there twice and it's nice I don't know if I just got lucky or something but It was nice I know what you mean though about it being hot and no water to cool off I went to Indiana last summer to spend 6 weeks at a Naval Camp it was really hot you couldn't cool off anywere that is unless your planning on swimming in corn fields ROFL!
Hey Meerkatlover, you have an Apple Mac pro laptop dont you? I custom built mine. I have an Athalon x2 dual core processor, 3400+. 2 gigs of DDr3 ram, and two hard drives, 250 gigs. I also have Nivida chipsets on my mother board and an Nivida graphic card. I have to have an excellent sound card. So I can listen to music. It can be very hard to do some pc stuff. Like reformating. It can be real tricky to get the large hard drives to work with the full capacity. Things like that. I have been doing it for a few years though. I just prefer the AMD processors. They are great for gamming systems. Its just a personal choice. AND yes, it can be a real headache, lol. When do you go back to CA? Sounds like your ready!
Krazolkatlady, I bought a pc years ago and it just didnt do what I was wanting, so I just started doing research, and built my own. It can be very frustrating. You must have our weather down there too. Is very hot here with 90% humidity. I'am ready for spring! LOL!
Yes I normally would be using my macbook I have both, I'm on the desktop because I lost my macbook charger Their soooo expensive! hope I can find it! The macbook is 2.6GHz 250GB HD and 2GB RAM I only got it 4 months ago so I still havn't upgraded anything. the graphics card is a NVIDIA it's pretty standard stuff on that one. Thats really cool that you custom built your own computer There aren't really as many upgrade options for macs I miss my laptop though I'm so used to cruising the thread while I'm watching T.V. now it's run to my room during a commercial break LOL!

You both have my eternal respect. I'm sitting reading the tags on this laptop but I have no idea what they mean. It says I have 320GB (5400RPM)HDD, Windows Vista 64 bit version and a lot of other stuff. It has a webcam too but I have no idea what to do with it.
At work we have a lot of computers and a server the size of a small room but I really have no idea. I can do a lot of software but I am such a dummy at the rest. I suppose I could go to school, but I spent a lot of time in school already, trouble was computers were not invented back then. LOL Take pity on me.
Hey Krazokatlady, you have a very good system. 320 Gigs on the hard drive means you have AlOT of space. And vista 64 bit is support for 64 bit processors, which is fast. So you have a goodie! Just peeking before I retire, this place is addicting. LOL. Have a good one. Night!
Hey Meerkatlover, I hope it didn't sound like I was making fun of you, having to go from room to room to watch tv and post. I didnt mean for it to sound that way. I sure hope you find your charger! Laptops and notebooks are really nice these days! I'am not looking forward to this pc work. I would much rather do my other job. I clean and help take care of a couple of older ladies. Lot less complicated and alot more fun.

No I didn't think you were making fun of me I was kinda makin fun of myself though I did look pretty stupid LOL! I'm going to have to go to the mall today and pick up a new charger, just watch I'm going to find the old one under my couch or something right after I buy the new one always happens to me Hahaha this place is really addicting more so than myspace! KKL 320HD is really good for notebook! My desktop is only a 350GB plus a 1TB external drive. HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive I guess the best way to explain it is kinda like an old record player, but uses magnets to write and read data basically it is used to keep all the information when the computer turns off It's also the reason your computer makes those click/buzzing sounds when your working hard because it spins around just like a record player but ALOT faster and the magnetic reader reads the info and writes it onto the disk I use a Intel core 2 Duo processor, What brand does it say on yours?
