Hey Meerkatlover, yes I do know where the Irvine Spectrum is. I lived there for a few years before I had my pup, then moved to Ks. Moved back in 1996 and we stayed with my Dad for two years. He passed away and we moved back here to Ks. My DM has relatives here and my mom lives here. I realy do miss living in Riverside. Good luck on that race! Yes, chicks do dig scars! Big Grin

Ok, finally posting this in the right place. Please send good thoughts my way. My 11-yr old kitty goes in in 12 and a half hours for surgery to remove a lump on one of her back legs. I'm feeling pretty optimistic now, but yesterday I wasn't, and I don't know how tomorrow will be. Anyway, I figure we could use all the good vibes we can get.

Hey Radiostar I love your name Big Grin I saw you on that please disregard topic, I just couldn't resist Big Grin I'm sure your kitty will be fine that happened to my 12 year old dog a few years ago it took 2 surgeries to get rid of it but in the end he was fine of course he is gone now but he didn't die of that, I'll keep my cross my fingers for your kitty though happy thougths Big Grin

Keschameerkat the humidity took it's toll It was like 95 degrees were I was the race consisted of 3 heats I made the mistake of not drinking enough water so I got really dehydrated on the 5th and 6th laps and started to get lightheaded, so I slipped the clutch going around a turn and dumped it, and had all of my 250CC bike land on my right leg I managed to finish 4th then after drinking some gatorade and taping a bag of ice from the cooler to my chest I won the second heat and got 2nd on the third so now I can move on to next week Big Grin I think that was really nice of you to stay with your dad, So I'm guessing KS stands for kansas? I'v been there once or twice, I know what you mean about family living in a different part of the country all my family lives on the east Hopefully in 2 years when I'm on my own I will make enough to keep living in SoCal, Big Grin

Well, got a call a little bit ago from the vet. He said the tumor was starting to eat into the bone a little bit, so could either send her back with some meds and wait for the biopsy results, or he could just go ahead and amputate her leg, and after considering a little bit, I decided on the latter option. If it was eating into the bone, that was probably just weakening it a bit, and this way, she won't have to go through another surgery later (hopefully,) and the tumor will be all gone. It's going to be hard to get used to, not the three-legged thing (I have another cat with three legs,) it's just going to be weird to see her with three legs, because I've seen her with all 4 for 11 yrs. But if all goes well, and if the tumor didn't spread anywhere, I should have her for a few more years, at least it's what I'm hoping.

meerkatlover775-Just curious, why do you like my name?

Meerkatlover, yes Ks is Kansas. My Dad moved to Redlands when he retired from the Sherrifs Dept. He got a real nice ocean boat and learned how to drive it. It was his dream. I loved him alot, he was a great guy. I'am glad I got to spend time with him.
You need to drink that water dude when its that hot! Did you hurt your leg at all? I'am glad you were able to keep going and do pretty good. Big Grin I hope you can live in California if thats what you want to do..

I like the name radiostar because it's really original and it has a cool ring to it Big Grin I feel so bad that your poor kitty has to go through that kind of pain and you too Frown Just try to think positive+++ thats what it's all about, At least it's not fatal or anything like that, I'll
send some positive thoughts your way+++

Kescha your dad sounds super cool Big Grin I'm glad he got to fulfill his dream, thats a coincidence because I just came back from wakeboarding on big boat a few hours ago Big Grin I'm glad you got to spend time with him, I don't get to spend much time with my dad but we have some good memories, like when he helped me build my first car and stuff Big Grin I'm sure your dad was a great guy, he sounds really nice Big Grin
My leg is aching a little now I really felt it this morning Roll Eyes I ride a honda CRF-250R
with dual yoshimura exhaust, and a totally overhauled engine plus a whole bunch of parts I replaced with Carbon Fiber and lightweight Aluminium, it gets up to like 45HP *shakes head* I'm starting to ramble sorry Big Grin What kind of street bike did you used to ride?

Natalka I'll keep my fingers crossed and pray that you get exactly the job you'v been looking for, I'm sure something will come up, everything happens for a reason right? I'll send positive thoughts for all of you Kescha, Natalka and our newest member radio star Big Grin

Oh Radiostar ~

My heart and prayers go out to you and your kitty. I know that God has special plans for her as you caught this early and so had the opportunity to rid her of this which was attacking her bone.

I'm sure it was a difficult decision to make, but you obviosly love her so much as to have been able to decide upon what's best for her regardless. You're lucky to have her, and she you, and I am sure that the love you two share will heal her well.

Bless you both ~ Auntiemeerkat

Hello Auntiemeerkat, it looks like alot of us have kittys here.

Hey Hildy! Big Grin

Natalka, thinking of you sister! Cuddles

Hi Meerkatlover, I used to ride a Yamaha, XV535, Virago. Me and my friends used to have alot of fun. Your Bike sounds cool. Modified to suit your needs. 45HP, thats pretty good. Hey I have done wakeboarding too! Thats alot of fun. I have swam in the ocean and snorkled too. I can see how the best swimmers can drown. I sure miss the pacific ocean. We used to live off of Dana Point every weekend.

Thats realy cool your Dad helped you build your first car! He sounds like an awesome guy too. Take it easy with that leg, you have more races comming up!

Hi Kescha ~
just so happen to have one of my three meerCats in my lap right this very minute! Typing w/ one hand, scritching behind the ears w/ the other.

I finally had to place a ruler in the area of my laptop between the keys and the monitor, as it has become a common walk way for my meerkitties, and the power button is smack in the center of there and they kept turning off my computer in the middle of whatever I'd be doing by stepping on it EVERY SINGLE TIME they'd walk across.

Now, all they can do is type, as I can't very well cover up all the keys when I'm typing too! I suppose it's nice to share...

You can see a lot of really great things snorkling! I scuba, but have seen some amazing stuff in the shallows too.

I used to ride before I moved out here from California. I do not recommend Death Valley in August. Perhaps even hotter than the Kalahari!!

I can't wait to hear how Radiostar's little girl kitty is doing today...

Hi Auntimeerkat, I can see your kittys doing that! Too cute, I have a desktop pc, so they like to lay on the desk and block the monitor. They are all staring at me right now. I have a diabtic kitty, and I give him his shot when I feed them. Its dinner time, LOL. I always wanted to scuba dive, I bet that is realy fantastic! I better go feed these guys before get in the attack mode! I cant wait to here about RadioStars kitty either. Have a wonderful evening Auntie!

My thoughts are with your kitty, radiostar. My late baby Floyd had kidney cancer and lived beyond the Vet's expectations. My current 5 meerkitties are pulling for yours. Auntiemeerkat & kescha, No pc at home, but my "Feral" (I use that term loosely) at work tries to push me & the chair away from the pc if he's in my lap. Doesn't like competition! My 5 pile on me the moment I try to sit anywhere, so when I get a home unit, I'll have to sneak into another room to use it.

Wow lots of cat people Big Grin I'v always wanted a cat, but my bro's allergic, but I do have a wiener dog who always like's to climb up onto my macbook because it's made of metal and it gets nice and warm and he loves to just stretch out across the keyboard when I'm trying to type! Roll Eyes He is sleeping in my lap right now Big Grin the's black and tan and he's a mini so the biggest he'll get will be like the size of a meerkat Big Grin

Kescha my dad used to teach my scuba Big Grin he almost got attacked by a barricuda once! I checked your bike out on the web it's pretty sick, My friend has a diabetic cat, it always pains me to see him have to get the shots and everything Frown He's still really nice and he's happy all the time though Big Grin Thanks for reminding me I have to feed my dog Big Grin

Radiostar Thinking of your kitty hope he's doing well.

Thanks Auntiemeerkat, keschameerkat, meergato, meerkatlover, and everyone. I thought I was going to be a basket case when I picked her up yesterday, but I actually held it together, and I think all the well wishes are definately part of that. I saw some video of what the damage from the tumor was, and that was extra confirmation that I did the right thing. I think Gaby's doing pretty well. I think what's probably bothering her the most right now is that she has to be seperated from the other kitties and she has to wear an Elizabethian collar. At least she hasn't taken the collar off today! She'd had it off before we'd even left the vet's! She's not too active, but I think that's because of the pain meds. I've gotten some squeaks out of her today though (she's part Siamese and pretty talkative,) so I see that as a good sign.

Keschameerkat, I hope your diabetic kitty's doing ok. There was a diabetic cat at the animal shelter I used to work at, and I had to help my boss check his blood sugar and give him the shot. Later my boss adopted him, and the diabeties went away. My cats like to stare at me at when it's dinner time, too. I come home from work, and most of the gang is by the front door. And any time the alarm clock goes off, I usually see three or four stroll into the room.

And Meergato, my three boys have done that to me before! I used to come home from the animal shelter, and they would play kitty-pile! They still do that sometimes, and their sister is starting to get in on the act a little too.

Well, that's enough of a novel for everyone tonight. I should sign off and get ready for work. Thanks again everyone.

Morning RadioStar, I'am glad to hear that Gaby is doing good! I'am sure it does bother her that she has to be seperated from the gang. Poor baby, it wont be for long. Its good she hasn't taken the Collar off. Shes part siamese, I bet shes a cutie. My mom has a blue point little female named Raptor. Shes a cutie, and a mess. She will sit in your lap if she chooses, she does not like to be picked up! Mom has a five kittys too.

Thanks for asking my diabetic kitty. His name is brother bear, we call him Bo bo. He had a twin named Bear, who was also diabtic and we lost him last year to kidney failure. I had a hard time regulating their diabties. Finaly the vet wanted me to try some different insulin. Humulin N. Knock on wood its doing pretty good. Bo Bo has two shots a day, along with diabetic cat food. I dont think his diabeties will ever go away.

I will keep Gaby in my prayers for a speedy recovery! Hugs and Nuzzles.

Hi Meerkatlover, I bet your dogs addorable! I also have dogs. Two male German Sheppards and a half pit half lab female. Shes going on 15 years. The dogs and cats get along realy well. A kitty outside is on its own though, the sheppards will sure chase them! I was raised on a farm with horses and dogs and cats.

I forgot to tell you my Bike was a 1990 model. LOL. I had a bad accident about ten years ago, a car turned left in front of me, and I skidded about 100 yards with the bike on top of me on my left knee. I should have rode a smaller bike. Took the skin off almost to the bone. I did ride after that, but just dont ride anymore. So do you scuba dive? I think that would be the bomb!
