I like old school music, even though I am from the 1994's, the music's just so understandable, and not overly explicit. Here is another one of my favorites.
Music... I love all kind of music but like everyone got my favorite I really like medieval music my best singer is Loreena McKennitt Here is my favorite song for the movie The Mist Of Avalon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45kOPkUtZZs
All kinds of music from R and B, to classical, to punk and classic rock, to today's music, too. Not a big country music fan, though, but I can tolerate bluegrass. I love REM, The Clash, Ozzy, Heart, love Evanescence, too, the Police and Sting, the Eagles, Luther Vandross, Alanis Morrisette, Scorpions, 80s and disco. lol I just love music!!
i'm starting to like punk rock better that goes along with me starting to turn punk but thats a whole other story and i don't want to explain but if you ask me punk rock ROCKZZZZZ
ooh, I don't think I could live without music! I absolutely love Evanescence (my faves are My Immortal, Bring me to Life[aka Wake Me Up Inside], Everybody's Fool, Whisper, Imaginary, etc...), and I love Avril Lavigne's music when she was a teen, but I don't like her new music. I can't stand rap (unless it's Lose Yourself by Eminem), and I only like a few country songs (mostly by Dixie Chicks). I guess I like mostly rock, but I enjoy a wide variety. Thank goodness for iPods!
Oh my, I don't recognize much here at all! I'm scared to say my favorite - but here goes!
Tocca and Fugue in D Minor by anyone Pony Man Gordon Lightfoot O mio Babbino Caro Puccini Tiptoe Dancer Karen Marie Garrett The Dream Moody Blues Dark Side of the Moon Pink Floyd Everything on Shepherd Moons Enya 1812 Overture Tchkavsky (I know that spelling ain't right )
Meergato, you have great taste! I love old timey c&w, Hank Williams, Sr, and James Blunt, and Irish ballads, as well as Rick Springfield
ccatz, I forgot to add bluegrass. I have developed a taste for it just since I've moved down south here. I just love Alison Krause; have to look into this Seldom Scene - they sound really great
Pie Jesu, especially the version by the Irish choir Anuna is just beautiful. For the same reasons, I love 'Redemption Song' by Bob Marley. Those two always are a reassurance, whether you can decipher the lyrics or not.
Electric Light Orchestra is just great, although some of their songs can drive me insane...'Xanadu', 'Rockaria', and 'Strange Magic' are my favourites.
There's also 'Voodoo Child', by the Rogue Traders, though I've only heard it on the Doctor Who episode "The Sound of Drums". There are various other songs I love but do not know the names of, perhaps someday I will be able to post 'em.

dmoo753, Alison Krauss & Emmy Lou Harris are favorites also.. I first heard the Scene in the early 90s.
[ Ttheir founder John Duffey also founded the Country Gentleman, both groups, not traditional old time bluegrass, but magnificent. Their early music available on DVDs...a must hear.
When Duffey would hit those notes, the hair on your arms would stand up, with chills in your spine
Just like with Pavarotti's Nessum Dorma
I am another who cannot live without the music I love.
Great post Wilson

ccatz I second that thank you to wilson. I'm learning about more music to love, there is even some rap that I have listened to since this thread started.
I used to go to Sun Valley and see Emmylou in my younger days.
Maskedmeerkat - I love ELO too, Mr Sunshine is on the list too!.
Kescha'kat, you are going to have to ed-u-macate me; I don't recognize much on your's or Southern's list! Is that cuz I'm getting old and already deaf?
I went to Humboldt State in the 70's & lot's of folks came up to do concerts there. Really miss that. Had everyone from Santana (got on the plane I was on!), Norton Buffalo, Johnny Cash, Doc Watson, Woody Herman & more. Intro to Reggae there too.
Other favorites Los Lobos (now playing in car) & Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass (why I learned to play trumpet). Big on Broadway musicals too. Also love ELO! Hottest version of Roll Over Beethoven ever!
I guess I am old because I do not know alot of the songs mentioned, but I do enjoy listening to many different types of music. Nothing wrong with variety. Love most musicals and the Andrew Lloyd Weber....Phantom of the Opera and Cats...
My favorite song has been and always will be "Yesterday" by the Beatles. Beautiful song and beautiful melody. Simple, yet perfection, to me anyway!
I have not seen anyone say the group IL Divo. But I like anything that they sing. They are a group out of the U.K. who Simon Cowell got together. They are breathtaking to listen to and not bad on the eyes either. My husband and I went to their concert (Greek Theatre, Los Angeles)and he likes them also.
Thanks ccatz and dmoo i just felt like this burrow needed a music post i mean c'mon almost everybody loves music.I know i'm going to get it for this but i absolitly just can't stand country exept for one or two i never ever listen to country but thats only opion.
