Iam going to make a tribute to Michael Jackson. He was the king of pop, and no matter what anyone thought of him, he was very creative, and very talented. Hes had some controvesy, and problems, but those things seem to go hand in hand with the very creative, and genius minds. His Thriller album, holds the world record on sales, 41 billion copies world wide, and no one has been able to surpass that so far. Its shocking, sad and a tragedy, it seems he was lonely, and misunerstood. He leaves a hudge legacy with his music all over the world. Here are some of his videos. Rest In peace, Michael Jackson. Lets remember the great entertainer he was.

Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

Michael Jackson - Beat It
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uqxo1SKB0z8

Michael Jackson - Black Or White

This is one of my favorites, because it so true. We are all people, not a color.

Yeah, kesch it's a shame that such talented people are usually surrounded by folks who care more about their meal ticket than they do the person. They are afraid to take strong action to get the person to change their behavior, for fear of being kicked off their gravy train. It's the same thing that happened to Elvis and some of these other entertainers. It's sad about Billy Mays, too.
Anyway here's that oldy.

Kescha, thank you for the tribute to MJ. He was so incredibly talented. I grew up dancing to his music. I think his song Childhood is very telling.
Peace, Michael, you rocked the world.

Dave, so true, so tragic.

A couple of my favorites by MJ,
Another Part of Me and You Rocked My World. I don't have the links.

Loved the selections Kescha! Was doing my own dance (belly dance) moves to them. I saw a group at a belly dancing show do "thriller" dressed as zombies. Very bizarre but entertaining. He will be missed. I do wish he had not done all the plastic surgery, he was quite the hottie before he went under the knife.
Such the entertainer to sell out 50 concerts even now. Note: wearing unflexible, non-slip steel toe shoes, even sketchers makes doing the moonwalk very difficult. It's possible, but not pretty (maciemeerkat, you know about steel toes).

Farewell, Michael. Enjoy jamming with Elvis & the other musicians no longer with us.

Whenever I think of The Coasters I think of the one song they have called "Down Home Girl". I start laughing every time I hear the line-"every time I kiss you baby, you taste like pork and beans-you're so down home". My DM has that cd and it cracks me up every time Big Grin

I like Snow Patrol. They write interesting songs. I also like the Fray. I am strongly opposed to the Jonas brothers, Miley Cirus, and rap. I like songs with more personality and heart in them.

Hey Dave, my mom does the same thing, lol.

Well its time to do a tribute to Woodstock. Its the 40th anniversary!

Woodstock went down in history as one of the greatest music festivals of all times, with musical guests including Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Santana, and Jefferson Airplane. The place to be during the summer of 1969 was upstate New York at Woodstock. Woodstock was a three day music and arts festival held in Bethel, New York on August 15, 16, and 17, 1969. Woodstock received its name because it was originally supposed to be held in Woodstock, New York; instead it was held at a 600 acre dairy farm in nearby Bethel. The festival was planned to have about 50,000 attendees but over 400,000 people showed up. If it wasnt for Woodstock, we would not have the concerts like the one Iam going to see, tomorrow. Heres some videos. I know there are some hippys out there, so come on people now, smile on your brother, lets get together and try to love somebody right now, lol!

Kesch, I agree with you on your selection. Except I never could get into CSN & Y. I still love watching Grace Slick singing Somebody To Love and You have to love White Rabbit. One of the greatest songs ever written. IMOO.

It's funny I saw this today because me and the DM was looking for Little Wing- Hendrix and I listened To SSB on youtube. I listened to 3 of the songs you listed.

I also love Eric Clapton, Cream, (Badge is my favorite.

We still have most of our albums from the 60s and 70s.

We are big Who fans and have all the albums and listen to them.

My neice Tori is introducing me to all the new groups now. She is a hard rock fan so I feel like I have done my job.
