Ditto what ccatz said. I have heard Il Divo & they are wonderful! Amazing how someone as grouchy as Cowell can put together such a group. As for country, new & old rocks. The ultimate album (mainly bluegrass) is "Will the Circle Be Unbroken Vol.1". Nitty Gritty Dirt Band got some of the greatest (& most now latest) artists together for the ultimate jam session. Looking for the CD - my LPs have warped.
oh this is just fun Wilson! No right or wrong -just a bunch of music and meerkat lovers sharing. I enjoy it when people share their experiances and opinions, I learn alot from it!Now I have a bunch more good music to experiance♥♥♥
Dmoo and Catz your both so right. We are all different and thats a good thing.
So on that note, I have to agree with Wilson on the no country. Its good, I just grew up listening to rock. So heres some different metal bands that are really good if you like metal.
Rammestein- Amerika, and Du Haust(songs) A great German Metal Band
Launa Coil- Our Truth, and What I see (songs) A great Italian Metal Band
Skindred- Nobody (song) Great Metal Band from Jamaica
Maybe not alot of people have heard of these, thats what makes it interesting. P.S. I love Il Divo too! I love music and listen to lots of different things.
I'll have to check those bands out - yes I like the metal too. Favorite album is a mix of metal & classical has Metallica & the San Francisco Symphony - gives me goose bumps.
Cool keschameerkat-I didn't think anyone knew of Rammstein lol. My DM saw them in concert a few years ago-and the lead singer set himself on fire! Du Hast is such an angry little song isn't it? lol

Hey Marypatwhiskers, yes it is an angrey song, but I just love the sound of the guitars. Wow, the lead singer set himself on fire! That would be something to see. Its good to see you sister!
Meergato, I love Metallica and the San Francisco Smyphony, it gives me goose bumps too.
Dmoo, Lacuna Coil is really not hard like metal is classified, its really beautiful music! I think you would like it.
Oh being someone who lives in ohio and gos to alot of football games i hear Hang On Sloopy ALOT!!That is the only one of those kinda songs i like.I love this other song it's not what i'd like in music but i do like it ALOT!!It's Independent by Webbie.

I googled "Come Go With Me", it was first recorded by the Del Vikings in 1956; they were the first integrated pop group to have a charted record. They do this song on one of the Do-Wop shows on PBS. I encourage anyone who loves music to watch these shows; the lyrics, the harmonmies, and just the good feelings these songs give, are great, and are still current, to me.
Yes, thanks for the info! I also have watched those specials on PBS & never tire of watching again. They make me want to dance! Also love all the old Motown songs. Have lots of favoties . Being a S. Cal gal, there's always my Beach Boys. God Only Knows is my fave. I think I've seen them more in concert than the Grateful Dead.
Actually wilson, you might love some of these older songs. For instance, Frank Sinatra sang before I was born (and after), but I still like some of his real old songs. I would suggest that you find an "Oldies" radio station in you area and give it a listen; or if your parents have XM radio, you can go to channel 6 and listen to their "Sixties at Six". I think you would enjoy it.
I have tried to listen to older music but nothing less than 1955 i only like 24 songs from the sixties 3 from the 50ies 40 or more from the 70ies none from the disco age and then from 1985 till now about 2,000
Excellent choices Debbe!! I have Chicago & the Jefferson Airplane new on CD (yes, I also have the vinyl - aging hippies rule!). Love the Doobie Bros & Bowie - Rebel, Rebel's my song.
Debbe, Will try that station! Lot's of good people you've got listed there; I like all you named and a bunch more from the 60's and 70's, just a few since then.
wilson, You sure know what you like and that's great; I guess you're right, we all like the music that's popular while we're growing up.
Another out of my top ten is................... Showdown by Electric Light Orchestra
I found these two songs that rock one is GodSmack i stand alone there's another but it has lot's of bad words so i won't say anything about it but it's by GodSmack also
Hey Dave, I love the Bee Gees, my mom has been a fan for many years! I love one of the new ones, which was before Maurice passed away. Its called, This is where I came in.
Yeah, kescha! Nice to see you! I like the song, especially the beginning. My favorite songs are:
(I'm not Gonna Write you A) Love Song by Saraberelies Only me when I'm with you by Talor Swift Taerdrops on My Guitar also by Talor Swift Anything to do with Chris Daughtry
There's more! Lots more! So much more, in fact, I can't even post them all!
Laws yes, count me a bee gees fan. lol Beatles, too! I still like Whitesnake, too. They were one of my favorite bands in the 80s. I always tried to fix my hair like Tawney Kitaen (or David Coverdale either one). lol
LOL. A lot of girls at MY school try to dress like Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) This is something I'd NEVER do. However, I might dress up as Taylor Swift (She looks exactly like me, except she's got longer hair.)
Hmmm....I've got such a long list...it's hard to narrow it down. Anyway, here's my top 10:
1) Sweet Home Alabama (Lynrd Skynrd) 2) Jessie's Girl (Rick Springfield) 3) She (Harry Connick, Jr.) 4) Pour Some Sugar on Me (Def Leppard) 5) Don't Speak (No Doubt) 6) I Need You Tonight (INXS) 7) Blue Light, Red Light (Harry Connick, Jr.) 8) Walk This Way (Arrowsmith feat. Run DMC) 9) Open Arms (Journey) 10) Hot Blooded (Foreigner)
Good choice with Need You Tonight, geneibelle- I LOVE INXS! The INXS with the very talented and very missed Michael Hutchence, not JD Fortune, although I have nothing against him. I saw them live in concert in 1997 less than 3 months before he left this earth. My most favorite part of the concert was when he stage dove into the audience and I ripped his shirt off his back- I still have it framed-good times RIP Michael.

Old gal here..alot of Celine Dion...especially the Titanic song...My Favorite Things..and I have Confidence in Me..Julie Andrews...Sound of Music...Moody Blues..."Nights in White Satin"...gosh have I stumped the new babies yet?..Good..it is old Aunt Hildy
I'm also a Moody Blues fan, Hildy. My folks went to USSR (then & also a fav Beatle's tune "back in the...") & brought back a Russian version of above album. I can probably stump the young'uns with Electric Prunes "I had too Much to Dream". Marypatwhiskers - way to go on the shirt!!! I am so jealous & impressed. There's a few shirts I'd like to rip off, like Rick Springfield's , Woo-hoo, calling Dr. Noah Drake, stat!!
LOL ccatz-it wasn't the whole shirt, just the back half It looks like it could be a Versace design-its thin sheer mesh with like a sun and celestial type design through it. Lol @ meergato-notice we like the Australians-Michael, Rick and hey that Take Home Chef is nice too
