Sorry about last post. Lap cat competing with laptop for lap. Let me pick up where I left off. I don't know if trains run from Cleveland to CA, but that would really be a fun way to go. I know I can't do the drive anymore.

Ya Hildy, I think I am the old lady around the burrow. +10. The problem now is the old DM, Shady Pines, as we call him. I would not be able to leave him, he often has bad days and doesn't see well enough to drive anymore. Thinks I am losing my mind when it comes to the meerkats, but he'll spend hours watching fish swim, so we all have our vices.

And then it seems any time I want to do anything, I trip over my job. Not ready to retire even tho I can. I like what I do, like to think I am pretty good at it, and it pays well. I get a lot of vacation time, but it is best taken in Jan or Feb job wise.

Again, thank you so much for your thoughtfullness. Who knows, anything might happen.

Hey Hildy sounds like you had alot of fun at Pams! Iam kind of surprised she remembered me and Dmoo, she meets so many people. You are lucky you live close, you get to meet lots of burrow mates too! I will give you a call tomorrow. Love you sis♥

Hi Hildy, Sounds like you all had a great time at FE. I'm counting the days now to my FE & LA Zoo visit & getting stuff ready to send to my mom's UPS to avoid the 2nd bag fee (cheaper). Christmas stuff going too (yes I shop all year round to get it all sent in time). Hola to all!

Hiya Hildy. Hope everyone is well, safe and enjoying life. 90 here today and muggy. Oh well it was a beautiful holiday weekend. Back to the old grind.

I took Shakes to the vet today. Dr P. is just the best. She is so good with all the animals and tries to save you bucks whenever possible.

Turns out Shakes has a respiratory thing, swollen tonsils, wheeze, and a temp of about 106. Wish it hadn't been a holiday weekend so he could have got there sooner, but he really didn't seem that sick except for the upset tummy. So he got shots and pills to take for 10 days. Usually he doesn't mind veterinary trips, but it must have been because he was puny, he fussed about getting in the carrier today. Then when I took him out in the doctors office, he had peed, so he was all wet and the carrier was puddled. I never had a cat do that before. With that long hair we had to clean him up before he could be examined. Poor baby, I swear he was embarrassed. Most important, now he will feel better in a day or two. Lets hope none of the other kitties gets it.

Meergato, I have always used UPS when we travel. It's great if you have someone at your destination, but you can use the mailbox system too. So much easier at airports. With me the problem is usually on the way home because I buy so much along the trip.

Hey meergato..word for a minute...Pam welcomes everyone..but she is kinda getting fatiqued. of everything she does and says on You-tube!! When you get there..if you do not have video camara...say you know Nancy...otherwise not!!! You will so enjoy your visit!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Hildy, I really enjoyed meeting you, Jen and Pam at FE. I loved meeting the meerkats and interacting with them. I am sending Pam one of my meerkat bags. She is such a good person and really cares so much about the meerkats and her visitors. Can't wait to go again, when I can scrape up enough money to adopt. Hot again here, as you well know. Hildy, yes I'm a quiet person, until I get to know you, then watch out. At least that's what I've been told. The quiet part doesn't help when I go on interviews. I'ts like taking a test, blank mind. At least we had Jens and Pam to keep the coversation flowing. both are very interesting people.

krazokatlady, I've been reading your posts and you are very funny. Glad Shakes will be alright after he takes is medicine.

Hildy, LOL on watching a movie starring "The Rock". Saw him on SNL, he's a funny guy. Gato means cat so who knows what the Rock was after, could be some bejeweled statue? Like the maltese falcon??? I'm looking forward to seeing Pam again. She did mention last time I was there that she has to watch what she says anymore because of you-tube etc. Didn't need to worry around my definitely non-pc correct bro & sis & me. Kind of disturbs me people would do anything negative to her. We've been hovering around 80 so I should be fine at FE & I cannot tell a lie, spent yesterday chopping down, well at, the cherry tree. Needed some limbs down. Should make the pie soon - been freezing the cherries. Didn't realize how long it takes to pit enough for a pie getting much faster at this.

Hildy, I've had the pleasure of visiting FE twice last year (my bro adopted 2 kats for me) & love talking to Pam & would just hate to see her have to stop the visits. I wouldn't mind paying a higher adoption fee to be able to visit . I will definitely ask about your quilt when I go in July! Last trip I talked Petco into selling me a closeout ferret couch for $1 & hauled it down for her (Even had them check stock for more). TSA probably wondered about that one in luggage search. Buffalo, huh? My grandparents lived in an old farmhouse up that way for awhile. Never got the opportunity to see it tho. Hear it's beautiful there.

Kescha, yup, freezing the cherries in pie amounts. No time to bake until after my trip. Last night of pitting - yeah! What, the Rock over Tom Flowers ??? Rock is a hunk ...

Evening Hildy, Kescha, Korkie, Cordee, Meergato, Titus and anybody I'm forgetting right now. Lovethemmeerkats, glad you are enjoying my dysfunctional existence.

Late night tonite, have to work late so I can pay for this wireless and all the other luxuries like food and gas.

I'm mad at Shakes today. These pills that he has to take are about the size of a dime, and even cut in half are pretty big, so I was really surprised when he just swallowed them down yesterday and the day before. Well today was another story, he just kept refusing to swallow and ejecting the pill. I cut it again and managed to get one part of it down, but not the rest. He was so unhappy, he was crying and growling at me. Hope Dr. P. has some ideas because none of my furbabies eats soft food so I can't bury it that way.

And then there's the deer. My neighbor told me last nite that there are not 1, not 2 but 3 deer living behind our garages. Animal control was supposed to come to take them away but no one showed today. There's no where for them to go around here, so the animal warden will probably have to tranquilize them and haul them to a safe area.

It is so dangerous for all animals living here. Last year I was driving near here on a main road at about 1AM and hit a deer. I was only going about 35, and the deer ran off so I don't know if he was hurt badly, but the whole front end of my car had to be replaced.

Krazolkatlady, I so hear you about your Shakes. I had to give my Bobo some pills awhile back. My fingers about turned into hamburger. I finaly had to wrap him up in a towel and have my pup help me. I'am sure keeping my paws crossed for you, that the vet has an alternative! Boy I sure hope those Animal Control people get it together and help those Deer!
