I went to the store today and picked up some more fruits and vegetables.
Is frozen yogurt better than regular ice cream? I looked at the labels but the only difference I could tell is that frozen yogurt has less calories and regular ice cream.

Frozen yougart is better than real ice cream but it is also a starch, so if you eat it, do so in moderation. I left you a message.

Good evening all. Did pretty good today. Better than yesterday. I think, a good carb would be a small sweet potato, right?

A good carb would be 40 calorie bread a whole grain type and only one piece, Natures Own makes a very tasty one. Sorry.

Good evening everyone: My name is Dmoo and I'm a chocohalic.

Fell totally off the wagon guys. Not a happy day - polished off half a pan of brownies without even thinking first. I guess that I need to know some way to slow myself down and think when the stress hits. So now, I'll get right back up on the horse that threw me and start all over.

dang.

dmoo, happens to the best of us. Like you said, just get back up on that horse. We're here for you. Brownies do sound good, but I re-think things everytime I put my pants on and can hardly breathe. Ha! Try getting some strawberries. They are low in natural sugar and you can have them to curb the sugar craving. Or you can also get sugar free chocolate pudding. Tastes like regular, or pretty close to it. That will take care of the chocolate craving. Good Luck!

The sugar free chocolate pudding is really good. Put a little dollop of cool-whip on top and you're good to go.

Yes, do not kick yourself and get back on the wagon, we are only human and not perfect, we did not gain this weight over night and it will not vanish over night either, I know it is more fun to gain the weight than to try to lose it.

The southbeach bars are good, but I can not keep them here because I would down the whole box in one day Roll Eyes

Hi everyone. Did pretty good today. Imas thanks for the tip about the bread. Sometimes, the critical time for me is after dinner and before bed.

Thank you burrowmates. I felt like such an idiot there for a bit. I forgot all about things like strawberries - yum, by far my favorite fruit. Okay, I'm up on the horse: instead of bread, I use wraps or low fat tortillas for sammies. Turkey and low fat cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a little avacodo in a wrap fills me right up and hits all the right spots. Wink

Does anyone know anything about the foods that are supposed to have an affect on feeling full? I read about that somewhere.

TWO, FOUR, SIX, EIGHT!
WHO DO WE APPRECIATE:
BURROW MATES, BURROW MATES YEAHHHHHH!
That is our cheer for the day. Weighed in this
week and I lost one pound. It is a start.
Knowing we have each other has been such a big
help. If I feel like snacking in the evening
(that is my worse time of the day) I log in and
feel the warmth of the burrow. Like our little
meerkat friends we are all on the look out for
each other. ((Hugs)) and Nuzzles to all of you.
I also have a sweet tooth. In fact I never met
a candy bar I didn't like. If you would like
a special treat try diet rootbeer and fat free
or low fat cool whip. It makes a awesome
root beer float.
melba, dmoo, cordee,FMF, shocat, kittykat, Absentfriends, meerkatsoul, susybear, imas,
auntimeerkat, titus, hildy, keschameerkat and any other burrow mates I have your back just
as you all have mine.
Together we are like the mighty Whiskers.
Everyone keep up the good work.

Congrats on the pound loss mitch4me Smile!

I did scan the postings here after not being able to log in for a few days.

I saw chocolate was metioned and have tryed a good low cal treat I wish to share with you all(some of you might have already tryed this).

Its two chocolate Graham crackers with fat free coolwhip between the crackers.
Once put together wrap the sandwich in plasic wrap and freeze.
Then take it out when ready and eat.It does really taste like a Icecream sandwich and is only about 100 Cals.

Also if baking something like brownies or cake and you need less fat and cholesterol you can use unsweetened apple sause in place of oil.
I've tryed it in cookie mixes but it do not seem to work as well.

I hope today is a good day for everyone!!!!

Congrats mitch. Keep up the good work. Also to everyone else, keep positive thoughts. Everytime I think about sticking something I shouldn't have in my mouth, I just think about the pants that are waaaaayyyyy too tight.

Anyway, found out something good for those sweet tooths. Jello, Sugar Free Cheesecake pudding. YUM. Sounds not too appetizing, but you'll be surprised.

Good luck to everyone. My weigh in is on Monday so I'll let everyone know how I'm doing.

Kitty, that sounds awesome, but I can't have the graham crackers on the Atkins diet. Maybe later on when I can submit carbs back into my diet, I'll give that a try. I love icecream sandwiches.

Anyway, off to work. Good luck to everyone today.

YYYEEEAAAHHHHHH! for mithc4me! Good job!!
I have been busy past few days but it looks like everyone is doing good. dmoo, Don't worry about falling off the wagon. We all do. I did the other night and ate a bunch of peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Dang sweet craving. They are bad the first few days for sure. I am not a big fan of all this sugar free stuff. I read a book about artificial sweetner that really opened my eyes. I was having some problems that have resolved when I cut out the artificial stuff. I think it made me crave sugar & carbs even more. To each his own. I am trying to cut out refined sugar/flour and use only natural sweetners like honey.

kittykat, I have heard of that before. Sounds yummy!

Well, you've all given me inspiration and I hit the gym last night. I couldn't believe the energy I had when I got home!! Did a ton of housework. Still lookin for something to do at 9:45 pm! At this rate I won't have any to do on Saturday and then I can spend the whole day at the gym. Big Grin No I don't think so!

Just wanted to thank all for the tips, snacks, stories, weigh-ins and encouragement!

...and another pound down, and another pound down, another pound bites the dust! Back on the bandwagon and one pound down. I stuck with no carbs since my lapse, and am 1 lb down!

The chocolate graham cracker will be my weekend treat. And the peanut butter trick is great. I'm not going to set any kind of goal here, just one step at a time, and see how many calories I can burn, doing the M4M cheer Wink

Wow everyone here is soooooo awesome!
All this support is just what I needed on so
many levels. When I got off work today I had to go to the gorcery store. I was soooo hungry.
(not good) but thinking about all of you helped me to stay on track. Picked up turkey and salad for dinner. I feel so good. Thank you all so much.
Shocat I know where you are coming from. I am here for you. I eat when I feel stressed too.
Hand me your paw and I will lift you back up
on the wagon. Like our little Mozart we may get down but never out. ((hugs)) and nuzzles.
Kittykat thank you for the graham cracker and cool whip idea. I picked them up this evening.
You all hang in there. Mitch4me has got your back.

Hi everyone, well I messed up and got on the scale this morning and ooohhhhh how depressing. I'm not supposed to do that until Monday. Showing that I've only lost a pound. You know, it's so easy to put the weight on and so hard to take it off. Just doesn't sound right does it? I've really done everything I'm supposed to be doing this week. NO CARBS AT ALL and a whole lot of water. Maybe it'll show something better on Monday. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED. This is how I get discouraged.

shocat, stress is a terrible thing. Keep your head up. We all fall off the wagon, you just gotta get back in and take the reigns. I may need this coming back at me on Monday.

mitch4me, thanks for starting this thread. I think we all need a little support where we are weak. A little lift goes along way!
