There seems to be alot of 'kats in my part of the sand. I'm a little ol' DF at Ft Bragg, NC. My motto is "Fearless after 50!" I've been addicted to meerkats since I was 14 when I read an old scifi story about a space cowboy with telepathic meerkats for sidekicks. The ones in the story were so cute I had to find out what they were. I got readdicted in '02 when National Geographic covered the KMP. Check out the site for some of the cutest pics you've ever seen. I'm old enough to retire and live out my dreams, and the KMP has been a fantasy for years. It might just happen next year. Three pups (dogs)of my own, and lots of adopted ones in the Army - most in other deserts right now - Like Mozart, I love 'em all. I love chocolate too and make the meanest brownies in NC! Happy scent marking everyone

Bloo, we have a lot in common. We both love the Reeses, we both think that Meerkat Manor is the best TV show, we both enjoy Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, we both love God, and we're both under the age of 20!

I agree with Melba and Jack; Annmarie Lucas is totally hot, as well as smart and tough, proving that we "Barbie-looking" girls cannot be stereotyped as dummies!

I'm 51 and got hooked on Meerkats with first the National Geographic Special about Digger and his family (sooo heart-rendering I can't watch it again, I just hate the loss of any Meerkat). Veteran of the philosophical wars at AP. Promoter of Flower as Time Magazine's person of the year for 2007, on the philosophical side, I am of the protect and preserve Meerkats persuasion- Sanctuary! Unabashed Hannibal hater! Writer of long posts that I hope are not too verbose and sayings such as: Soon to be card carrying member of the Meerkat Liberation League: If not YOU then WHO? If not NOW then WHEN? and 3 choice words for the KMP about the Meerkats: LET THEM LIVE! Very Respectfully, 2dear_2me

Susy....I know just how you feel, I lost one of my kitties not too long ago as well, it is the most terrible feeling in the world! I am not too far from you...in Fairfax, VA. Originally from Texas. I am a DF still searching for my Zaphod, but I don't let that get me down... I am fearless and fabulous! I share my home with 2 crazy cats and a spastic chihuahua/jack russell mix dog. I am a paramedic who works in the Emergency Room and am heading to the Kalahari in September 2008!

How attached we are to our furbabies. That is probably why we are so attached to the meerkats on MM. I am proud to be scent-marked by this group

Hello Folks, I have been part of this board for a couple of weeks now and thought should interduce myself. I am a 40 something YO stay home Mom of two teens pups. I've live in Minnesota my whole life and Autumn and the changing of the leafs is my Favorite time of year as well as Halloween. I enjoy bonfires and northwoods,Fantacy and Si-Fi storys movies/TV and art,Ghost Storys/movies and hunting[hence my name Theirhere].Feeding the birds, squrrels[flying ones too]wild mice and watching them interact, and ofcourse, Meerkat Manor as well as Meerkats themselfs, and other wonderful wild life. My spirituality is extreamly important to me. I try to understand everyones point of view and except them for who they are and where they are in life. We currently have the pleasure of sharing our lifes with 1 Dog named Brisko,2 Cats, one named Abby who is Deaf and the newest member of the family ,our boy named Peaches, our mouse named Rayne and a tank full of gold fish. I like Pizza and Chocolate [so do my pups] and coffee is the Juice of Gods!!! Mozart,Shakspear,Flower,Zaphod,Mitch,Axel,Sguiggy and Flutternutter so far are our Favorite Meerkats, but I think we have room for more:}. I hope to get to strike up some friendships here with other people and contuine to learn more about our furry little meerkat friends. I think it would be so Great if we could get Meerkats in the Minnesota Zoo and would like to find out if its possible and how to make that happen. Thank You for allowing me to be Sent-marked. Bliss

Well, there's Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. Mozart also makes chocolate liquors. Pretty $$$. Quit drinking long ago, so can't say how they taste. I'd probably puke. I love Reese's too! But it's the peanut butter..I'm a PB nut! Especially chunky. Probably why I'M chunky,LOL! It's nice to see all of the animal lovers here!

Well, Hello there fellow MM co-watchers and burrow-mates! So glad to be a member of this group and love hugs and supporting mob-mates, so please scent mark away! I'm 54 and have been a devoted MM fan since season 2. My burrow is in Arlington VA, bordering on the Falls Church and Alexandria burrows, where I live with DM, Bart. We have no pups, but support a number of animal and human programs. We also are sci-fi fans and our faves right now are Dr. Who and Torchwood. I maintain the burrow by being an Exec Ass't and Tech Writer and DM keeps the burrow clean free-lancing in metro area "Kalahari" as contractor/woodworker and all-around handyman. Favorite treats are dark chocolate, rum cake, and those gooey, sticky caramel rolls with Pecans on the top. Interests are bead-stringing, mosaics, writing sci-fi stories and balcony gardening (we live in a burrowminium ) DM's interests are politics roadsters and debates [he's a precinct captain, helping keep his precinct mob-mates politically informed and involved]. Anyway, again it's sooo great to be a part of this forum; I feel really at home here being able to share my love for Flower and all these marvelous Meerkats! Will go for now as DM and I need to go forage for lunch, but will be back soon. Sending virtual tasty morsels to all!

bloomeerkat, my daughter wants to become a veterinarian, too. She wants to go to UT Knoxville to undergrad and play softball-big dream of hers- and then to their vet school. I don't let my kids get on the computer much, but with all our wonderful pups and young adults, I may just encourage her to join here. She loves MM and all the kats, too. We have the best group of kats anywhere!

Carlosbabysmomma, you had a great idea. I needed to be scent marked, this is the only place for me to talk about meerkats. Thanks and a burrow hug for everyone!
Halloween is my fav. also. Love fall. I also like Anne Marie Lucas. Animal Cops is one of my favorite shows. Hard to watch, but mostly good endings. Yeah, they dont show Joan Sandono on the commercials. I'am not the only one who noticed. LOL

Hey there, 1Flowerfan here! I'm a 43 year old DF with a burrow in Norfolk, VA. I don't have/want a DM in my burrow, so I guess that makes me a roving female. I share my den with three crazy furry pups. 11 year-old Dog (that's Dog, not D-o-g) a Shepherd mix who just showed up on the door one day, Gazelle, a Whippet mix who was only 3 hours away from euthanasia when I adopted her, and Daisy, a Pit Bull who was rescued from the 7th Ward in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. I rule my manor with an iron paw, so I can stay on top in the daily struggle for dominance. It's the only way to keep 3 mischievious pups in line - you get some amazed looks when you can walk 3 regulation sized dogs at one time! Much thanks to both Cesar Milan and Victoria Stillwell for their training tips! I have always been a fan of MM, and loved Flower best of all right away. She is the only Kat I got truly attached to. I got sad whenever one of the Meerkats passed away, but only Flower's passing made me cry. I hope I can find a new fave one day. I think Axel is the cutest so far, probably because he beat incredible odds when Flower adopted him after he was lost by his family. But nobody can replace Flower!

I'm a 14 year old male and live in CA (which is why most of my posts seem like they are late at night- pacific time is three hours earlier than ET). I, predictably, LOVE meerkats, and I've been watching MM since Season 1, Episode 1. My favorites are (of course) Flower, Zaphod, Youssarian, Shakespeare, Motzart, Carlos, Buster and Suggs, Rocket Dog (I'd never heard of her before she became DF, but I think she's suuuuch a mini Flower) Axle (I've seen it spelled 3 different ways- Axl, Axel, and Axle) and Mitch. Wow that was a long list! I'll post a few more if I remeber. Oh yeah, and I KNOW people say AP just call random meerkats Mitch when they do something heroic, and it may be true, but he really does do alot of that stuff. I love chocolate, too. Live w/ 2 male cats (one is such a rover and the other is more of a stay-at-home). They're both neutered, though. As for spiritual beliefs, I guess I believe in god, but I'm not actually baptized or a part of any religon. I do like the beliefs some books like the Warriors series exhibit; after you die, you become a star, shining in the sky, forevermore. Besides meerkats, I love ALL animals EXCEPT BUGS (those I can do no more than tolerate). Like 1flowerfan said, it was sad when any of the meerkats passed away, but Flower's death was the only one that made me cry. Glad to join the mob, -youssarian

Wellll....I was raised in Washington state[Bellingham] but have lived the last three years in Oklahoma. I love horseracing, elephants, am very active in animal rescues and their causes. I share my burrow with 9 fur children, 1 DM and will be 42, 15 DEC 2007. I am next to the youngest in a family of 9 sibs [7 bros 1 sister]. Army vet, warehouse worker, truck driver, ex hazmat fuel handler, very chatty poster. I usually make these oakies angry with my constant calls to the humane society about the way they treat their pets as animals but i really do not care. If you will not spay or neuter your pet or refuse it to ride in the cab of your pickup instead of the bed, then you do not deserve to have the pet's friendship. Yes I am an activist which is a very sensitive subject but remember: the tiniest of meows could become the mighteiest of ROARS. Anne marie is one of my heroes. God Bless her.....

Hi Theirhere - Yea, another Minnesotan! I love bonfires too. The smell of bonfires in Autumn is just wonderful.
We have meerkats at the Minnesota Zoo! I called the zoo and the meerkats can be seen year-round as long as they aren't staying out-of-sight somewhere in their area. Check out the zoo's website under the northern trail section. I haven't been there yet but I want to make the trip to see them sometime in the near future.

Hi!, I am a mod on another site that helps people raise, and maintain farm critters, mostly poultry, but we have forums for other animals too. including pets. We also advise about treatment for illness or injury or other problems..and give support and sympathy when some cannot be saved. I love animals. I live in the southeast, outside of Raleigh, NC, but lived most of my life in Pennsylvania. I have become a meerkat maniac! I think they are fascinating little creatures, and love the almost soap opera like story lines. and I am glad to be here among other meerkat maniacs to share the joys of their antics and successes and the sadness when one is lost. I'd have to say my favorite is Mozart..it was a story line about her that got me hooked on Meerkat Manor. But others have stolen my heart, too.
Flower...sadly missed and remembered.

I couldn't agree more,I am new to this forum, but not to MM or AP. I am saddenend to see these little wonders when they leave our plane of existence, but if you have seen any of my posts in the MEMORIAL forum, you know my take. Flower gave us a great show. She was fearless, strong, loyal and very compassionate, everything a good leader should be. Her last acts prove all this. Her legacy is unmatched andwith daughters running two groups,(maybe more). I will be a wathcing to see what happens next. Remember my motto: We have season tickets, front row seats to the best show around and I for one can't wait to see what happens next. As Flower runs around her Rainbow Bridge with all who went before ..Shakespeare,Len,Squiggy and all the others ..even Carlos..They are joined By the Animal Planet Angel of all critters, Steve Irwin..I think her message to us, is much like his was. Live life to the fullest, and keep on keeping on.. I'm sure going to try. Just like Zaphod you have to go for it. Thanks for Most of you sharing positve thoughts and let's try not to war dance too much. Sheryl B MCAllen, TX
