Welcome to the burrow, brownabbycat!

Mozart was my favorite, too. I love them all, though.

Hi everyone!Have something to add to almost all the posts today....

luvin-it's going to be cold here tonight, too! Down into the teens and light snow/sleet/rain mix expected for the weekend. My pup's b-day is Monday and for the last 2or3 years we've had to postpone her parties because of snow, so I'm predicting we'll get 6-8 inches of "flurries".

wildaffair, HANG IN THERE, IT WILL GET BETTER! I quit almost 14 years ago. (ps to luvin-I still get cravings!)

SMMD-thanks for asking the question that's been bugging me as well. Hamsters would be a very small and wiggly target.

titus-my goal for after the first of the year is to loose 30 pounds also...interested in being diet buddies? I've heard it helps!

DarkDreams- so sorry about your gg, remember luvin is right about her being in the stars now. Hope things go well with your new fur baby!

luv4flwr- hope you feel better soon!

WHEW!!I think that was everything....oh, wait, I almost forgot....

brownabbycat, Welcome. There isn't a person here who wasn't deeply saddened by Flower and Mozart leaving us. This is a wonderful place to help heal you heart.

Ok BAC...hehe...enough of the serious and a little but of fun....now cover your little eyes. You'd better cover them better than that! You have no idea what's coming your way! Big Grin

Are you ready...hehehe

FBSMom, Green chilies in the can have no more heat than a green pepper, but they have a ton of flavor. Just buy one can and tastes a piece. If you don't like them you can mail the rest to me...hehehehe

I can see it now, a manilla envelope with green stains all over it! Eek Big Grin

Luvin- I am a needle phobe too. My Nana has diebetes and got this blood sugar tester thing. My Dad decided to test mine. I went into blind panic and managed to wiggle away probably about 3 times. When he finally had me in a death grip, I kept my hand balled up into a fist and he had to pry my finger out! I'll probably never be able to give blood either because I tend to freak out when thinking about veins, arteries, or tendons. Buuurrrr!

Southern- IDK. When managed to hit it by holding the muzzle real close to it. And yes, it was a very mean and vicious hamster.

Welcome, brownabby, we have a warm and cozy burrow here. Glad you decided to join in!

ILFF, you went to Churchhill to see the polar bears??!! Color me sooo green with envy! Hurry, I want to see all the pictures. It's on my list of things to do before I get much more decrepit Wink

I was extremely shocked to read that a dad threw a guinea pig against a tree just because it ate the rabbits food. Then to allow the poor animal to suffer for an entire day before it finally died. Sorry but I'd say he has some issues with anger or something and is in need of some major physicatric help.

Also the one about shooting the head off a hamster because it killed another hamster.

I'm beginning to wonder whats wrong in this world when you have adults acting so abusive to animals. They are helpless pets that are real, breathing creatures that you have brought into your home and this is how you treat them.
If the hamster was that cruel to it's fellow cage mate then put it in a another cage or return it to the pet store you got it from not shoot it's poor head off.
Yea I sympathize with the one whos head was bitten off but you have no idea what went on in that cage that caused them to fight.
No-one has the right to play God with an living being whether animal or human.

I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone but I don't know how a person can live with themselves for being abusive to an animal and in my opinion they should NEVER be allowed to own another animal whether it be a dog, cat, bird, turtle, fish and especially a hamster ever in their lives.
We are here to be their keepers not their abusers.

If some are upset by what I've written I'm sorry but I'm a huge animal lover and it irks me to no end to hear about someone abusing a poor little animal.

Angie, I have to agree with you. I've been very upset reading about the abuse these animals had to suffer. I agree, separate the animal, give it away, don't hurt it. They are ANIMALS, not people, they don't think like we do.

Dx4, be glad right now that you aren't getting the rabbit because you still have the Doxie and yes they are hunting dogs bred to hunt vicious animals in holes. Guess what, rabbits like to live in burrows. Would it be fair to bring another baby into a home where the dog has already killed? No, not fair to the bunny or fair to the dog.

Try forgiving the dog and cherish him/her while you have them, and get a small animal after they are gone.

Sometimes Mom's have to make really hard decisions, and this might be one of those times. Try to understand where she is coming from and if you need to cuddle, then cuddle the dog or your stuffed animals. I have a 55y/o teddy bear with LOTS of tear stains.

Sending a tail hug,
Mamalur

I need to disagree on some point here.

Sometimes its nececerry to put a animal down, but you have to, do it quick, and painless, so it wont suffer.

Some exampels are rabies. One of my neighbors dogs was bit by a coon, and he contracted Rabies. The owner put the dog outside and shot it in the head. And that dog wanderd round the neighborhood, he could have bit me or someone walking. Which wouldnt be good.

But Im tryin to say, only kill an animal if its truly nececerry. And deer huntins okay, theres to many of them anyway, as long as you eat what you kill.

Thank you melbacake and wildaffair for your welcome.
Wildaffair, I did go to the story of Butterfly Kisses and read it, now with tears. It is a beautiful story.
I believe we will be with all of our loved meerkats again and be able to play and love them, but in the meantime...well I hope some new ones come next season that can be new favorites.
I have now I think read all the stories about our beloved meerkats being taken home. I liked them all, but somehow the one I remember from time past is the one when Mozart meets all her pups.
Until I read the Butterfly Kisses story I had not found one about Kinkachu.

Go to the Ouray Toys Inc website and instead of going to any brand names just go to Keywords and put in Meerkats and it should take it right to them....they are standing ones in pkgs of 3 . If you cant find them email me at Love4Meerkats@aol.com for the link

ok going back to bed still not feeling too good.

Why are we talking about dead pets, tortured pets, abused pets, or any other type of pet trama? I'm not scent marking anyones poor little pet that is dead. It's the pet owners job not mine. Frown Frown

I guess someone needs to start a thread about the death of animals and how that death occured. Please spare the folks that visit Scent Mark all of these gory details. It turns my stomach. It's AWFUL! Frown Frown

If they can't scent mark or jump on the trampoline, or climb the sentry tree or hang out with all the fun folks that hang around in here, why are they in here? They're dead! Frown Frown

Ok, jump all over me again. Give me your best shot. I can take it. But come on guys, enough with the gory animal killing already. Frown Frown Frown Frown Frown

No scent marking from this kat today. Frown I'm afraid of what I might stumble over or step on. Frown Frown

**foraging for the sad Frownscent of death*** hmmmm

**I wonder????*** ***looking***

Mamalur, FBSMommy, I'm leaving a trail. If I'm not back by December first, send out Uncle Youssie 007. Eek Eek
