I haven't had good lasagna in a looooong time. My sis make awsome lasagna. I have put in a request for a Sunday dinner. She said in the fall. Summer really isn't lasagna time I guess. Though I'd eat it for breakfast if I could..hahaha.
DAM..it was windy here today. Lots of people lost power. We were lucky I guess. We don't usually get wind like that here.

Evening Meerkatmike. Its a good night to crash. Quite cool here, in the 50's. Lots of wind damage from Ike. We had gusts around 75/80 mph so there are lots of downed trees, street and traffic lights but otherwise ok.

Had a peak of sun this afternoon but then rain again but nothing bad.

The DM made spaghetti and salad. Had sauce left from the lasagna. Twice as good on a cool day.

Sunshine today, can you believe it? Cool though, of course its mid Sept so 60's are not that bad.

Hi Meerkatmike. Late again today. Turned out to be a nice day. It was supposed to be in the 60's but it got to 85. You're right about the nights though. This time of year is the best for sleeping.

Had a doctors appointment after work. Been feeling whooped but he didn't know. Stopped on the way home at this wicked frozen custard stand. They have the best chili dogs and got ice cream too. DM was happy. He loves ice cream.

Busy day tomorrow. Should get some zzz's.

kokl, I like chili dogs too. Actually, I'm not picky..my mama taught us not to be and actually, my dad didn't make alot of money when I was a kid so we ate what was put on the table. There is only a couple of things I REFUSE to eat.

LOL Remember the Big Boy restaurants - there's only one left in the area and its about a half hour drive. The same with the last Arthur Treachers. Boy how we love both so we make the trip once in a while because I can't find anything else that tastes like them.

Hey Titus, I'm not picky either. Back in the day, parents required us to eat all of whatever there was, I think that's why so many of my generation have weight problems. I don't like lima beans and okra. Never did, never will. Got spanked for leaving those on the plate. Heehee.

KOKL, we were made to eat everything also when we were children and I do agree also with that being the reason as to why so much of my generation has weight problems. Food was not something that we wasted. Daddy worked too hard to provide for the family. We were treated to Arthur Treachers or pizza every great once in a while, that was definately splurging.

I looked online re the Arthur Treachers. I was surprised to find out that Ohio has more than other places. There are actually 3 around here, but 2 are pretty far to drive just to eat.
There are a bunch in New York too. Are you anywhere near Liverpool, Mike? Some places they are known as Pudgies.

Sorry Titus, none in Florida, but there is one in the Cayman Islands if you have time to travel for fish. Of course my guess is there is better fish to eat if you are anywhere in the islands. Nothing like fresh.

Hi Meerkatmike. Sorry you are ill. It seems that there were way too many people with summer colds or viruses this year. It seems like everybody got something. Who knows what Winter will bring.

Titus, there is nothing to compare to fresh fish. One of the greatest things about visiting Florida is the seafood. Just thinking about it makes me want to hop on a plane. I had a friend who lived in the keys for a while. That would be the life.

Attila, did you lose power because of Ike? Do you live in Texas? We had a lot of Ike problems here and I'm in Ohio. I never lost power but some close by did.

Lazy today. Just grilled up some ham, cheese and tomato sangies on marble rye. Good kosher pickles. Who needs meat and potatoes every day?

Hi guys! Yeah Krazol, I live in Ohio too and a lot of people lost their power because of the wind storm caused by Hurricane Ike.
Mom kept saying "It makes ya wonder how the Amish do it..." over and over. I think it was some kind of coping thing for her. She missed the shower most while I was mourning my inability to get on-line.

Feeling better today and I took tomorrow off so, I'll be well rested. Been battling with the phone company over my phone service. Was going to go with time warner for digital phone and when they tried to transfer my number it got all messed up. I haven't been able to receive calls since Monday afternoon and won't be able to until tomorrow sometime (IF I'm lucky). I've already signed back up to go with my old carrier. What a pain in the southside this had been. Well, it looks like pasta in this Kat's house tonight. Not that I can taste much of anything. I had a good day the other day simply because I was in a good mood. That... and it was pizza for lunch and the day I go to church! The only bad part of my day was when I fell and scraped my forehead on the sidewalk, resulting in a big red mark.
(shrugs) Oh well. I found it amusing that everyone made a big deal about it except me. After if happened I just got up, grinned and walked into the building.

Hey Attila, glad you had a good day, that sounds like what I would do, pick myself up and go on. One time my son hurt his knee when he was about 10 I think. He was rolling around on the floor and said he hurt himself bad. It was really kind of funny. He just had a scrape.

Had to do a lot of shopping. Groceries and new towels, etc for the bathroom. Boy I hate to shop. Its nice to have the fridge full and a fresh bath so I guess its worth the trouble.

Made turkey breast with herbed redskin potatoes, green beans.

Hi, meerkatmike. You should have a good drive this weekend. That is one of the most beautiful parts of the country in the Fall.

Tired as all get out tonight. Nasty rain here all day, with the exception of one peek of sun around 3PM. Such black clouds, too. It was practically dark at 4.

Lots of extra work with this economic problem. I need to get more rest tonight, not looking forward to tomorrow.

Fajitas sounds good. How do you make them? We shared a ribeye and salad. And DM had his ice cream.
