susybear, you have quite the entertaining job.....Prague.....Vienna.....WOW! Sounds like fun. I hope you do get to enjoy your trips every now and again and it's not all business all the time. Do you have to travel to these destinations alone? Company would be much more fun.

korkie, thanks for all of the updates on our meersis.

kescha, you let us know what those test come up with. I will pray for the families of the soldiers......that is so sad.

meerkatmike, I'm doing well thank you. How are you doing? Well, atleast you can stay up and watch the Sunday Night Football games and not have to worry about having to get up early Wink Sometimes Monday's are very hard because I have to see the games. I pay for it that's for sure.

I hope you all have a great day.

Hi everyone,
I thought I was having a bout of allergies ( I never have problems in the Fall) but, now I'm thinking it might be a cold. My nose goes from runny to stuffed, my throat hurts when I cough, I'm sneezing and my head feels like a balloon ! Not good.
Kescha, glad to see you back (a little anyway). Please do keep us posted.
This kat is off to bed. Took a couple extra strength tylenol & a shot of nyquil. That should help me sweat this out.
Hope you all had a good start to the week. I will catch everyone tomorrow.
Stay safe and God Bless.

Susybear, I hope you have a good time in your travels. You really must be looking forward to your long break.

Kescha, I'll pray for the fallen soldiers and their families. Sad news. And we are all praying for you too, meersis.

Meerkatmike, does sound like you've got the cold. Get well soon.

Titus, Fall may be here, but it feels like summer again in my area. Humid today and warm. I did see all the fall decorations in the garden shop and fabric stores, and they got me pumped up. I can't wait to make an apple crisp in October when all of the apples are out and the weather is cooler.

Paw waves everyone!

I think it's going around in my area (SC) also; some of my friends have gotten it. I'm trying to avoid everyone this week as I'm heading to Florida Thursday to visit my 96-year old Dad in his ASF.
Mmike, hope you're better soon.

meerkatmike, rest is the best medicine. I hope you are feeling better today.

josnaj, it has not cooled off here yet at all. Humidity is high and it's been in the low 90's. Kinda stinks really. I'm so ready for cooler weather so that I can open my windows and let some fresh air in. I picked up a cinnamon broom the other day and decorated it with fall ribbon and fall flowers. It turned out quite nice I should say since I'm not an artsy type person. I have it hanging in my bedroom. I just love the smell of it. I've got pumpkin going in the living room.....mmmmmmmm, the smells of fall.

scmeerkat, you be careful heading down here to the Florida burrow. I hope you enjoy your visit with your dad.

Kescha, big paw hugs meersis.

Talk to you all soon. Have a great day!

Hey Titus,
I'm feeling quite a bit better. Not perfect but better, thank you. Must be some type of fast moving flu or something.
SCmeerketfan, nice to see you. Have a great time in Florida. Bring us some sunshine will ya' ?
Not too much else to say tonight. Hope all my burrow buddies had a good day. I'll see you all tomorrow. God Bless.

Hello Mike and everyone. It's been very busy in my burrow lately...end of the Government fiscal year and all.

Titus, you asked if I was traveling alone...not really. Three other people from my office will be going to Prague and about 120 other people will be coming from all over Europe, as well. Most of them I know, at least slightly. The trip to Vienna will be solo but there are folks there that I know, once I get there. I really don't mind traveling alone...I can always find something to amuse myself...crossword puzzles, crochet or reading. And in most of Europe, even a lone female can safely walk the streets most of the time without fear. I can't say the same thing about many of the U.S. cities.

Mike, I'm glad you are feeling better. There is a lot of "crud" out there this year. Many of my co-workers have been sick in the last few weeks and I had a cold a few weeks ago.

Kescha, I hope you have gotten some good news about your diagnosis and are on the mend, as well.

Gotta go rustle up some dinner. Hope all are having a good Thursday.

Hey Susy,
Sorry you've been so busy lately. I hope you can find some time for some fun soon.
Feeling even better today. Still coughing like a fool but I think the worst is behind me now.
One more day 'til the weekend ! I'm hoping for a relaxing one.
Well, it's time for this kat to take some nyquil and hit the sack.
I'll see you all tomorrow.
Stay safe and God Bless.

Scmeerkatfan, have a safe trip, going to see your dad.

Paw waves everyone.

Hi everyone!

I'm back! Maine was great, we had lots of sunshine. The rain didn't start until after we got back home (Saturday afternoon) and it's been raining ever since. We did 7 hikes, lots of running, biking, and kayaking. The weather was calm enough that we kayaked on the ocean 2 days. Acadia National Park is absolutely beautiful, I'd recommend it to anyone.

I have lots of leftover lasagna and pasta in the fridge, probably be eating it all week.

Josnaj, I have 2 good books to recommend to you. Carlos Ruiz Zafon is an excellent writer, his 2 books "The Shadow of the Wind" and "The Angel's Game" are both great books.

Kescha hope you are getting over that lyme disease, sending grooming and tailwraps your way Smile

Kescha, you should be getting those test results any day now, and I'm relieved that you are feeling better. Keeping my paws crossed.

Squirrelly, I'm glad you had an awesome time and that the rain didn't come and ruin it for you. I've heard about those books from Zafon and have one of them on my wish list on Amazon. I've heard his books are excellent and I've definitely gonna read the first one. Gosh, you must be beat and quite fit from all of those activities...I've been to Acadia years ago and remember it being quite beautiful.

Meergato, Titus, Susybear and Meerkatmike, I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the cooling off in the weather department. I know I am! Paw waves!

Hi everyone!

Josnaj, I'm lucky that my community library is excellent and I almost never have to buy books anymore. Our library has almost every bestseller, and even gets in a good selection of sci-fi and fantasy books. It sure saves me alot of money and bookcase space.

Hey SG, welcome back. Glad you had a blast in Maine. There is just something about the ocean. I'm hoping the DF and I can make it back tp Cape Cod for a few days next summer. My family used to go almost every summer when I was a kid. Just LOVE the Cape.
Weather is cool and damp here. Not much else going on. Time to go make my lunch/dinner for tonight. Have a good day and God Bless.

Hello all! One more day in the fiscal year and then FY2009 is history! Things have been busy but are finally slowing down. There will be some last minute rushing tomorrow but in general, this has been one of the easier years to get through.

The weather here was beautiful today. A real touch of autumn in the air but still warm and sunny. The trees are just beginning to change color but it will be a few weeks before most will be really pretty.

SG, glad to see you back and to hear you had a good vacation.

Hope everyone is doing well.

squirellygirly, the things i liked best was watching the dolphins swimming out to the ocean to feed after spending the night in the Delaware bay,and then watching for their return in the evening.Really an awe inspiring site.if one didn't know better they might think they were a sharks, with their dorsal fins out of the water like that

Hi folks!

Kescha, so glad to hear it was not lyme disease since that can linger for a long time.

Well, I now have my new car: a silver Scion XD. This is only the second car I've ever owned, so it feels weird to be driving a new car after 18 years of the old Toyota Tercel.

Leftover buffalo chicken pizza for lunch today... yummy.

In case anyone didn't see, I posted my pics of the Pittsburgh Zoo meerkats on a seperate thread on this Welcome Board. I finally got my Maine vacation pics downloaded, I'll put the link up as soon as I can.

It's a gray windy day here. Another month or so and the chipmunks will start hibernating... not a bad idea.

Hey Squirrellygirly, those are nice little cars. Congratulations. I hope you get as much out of that one as you did your last.

meerkatmike, that petition is doing well huh? Any news on the job hunting? I'm trying to find something part time to help with the bills, or atleast give me some spending money but have had no luck there either.

It's HOT here with no relief in site. You all enjoy your cool weather and think of me please. Have a great evening.

Hi Everyone!

Squirrelly, congrats on your new car. Sounds like a beauty and I love the color too. You know, I know quite a few people who borrow books from the library too, but I love owning them and gazing at them on my bookshelf when I'm done reading them. I've unpacked most of my books from the basement a few days ago, and my shelves look glorious.

Meerkatmike, yes the petition is going quite well and a part of Kescha's letter to the editor at the Orlando Sentinel got posted on the e-edition of that paper. Keeping my paws crossed.

Titus, I have a friend from Florida who complained she can't get motivated to decorate for Halloween when it's a broiling ninety seven degrees. Sending cool Fall breezes your way, and hopefully it won't be too long till you cool down.

Everyone have a great Wednesday evening.

Hey Meerkatmike, I have been busy working. Sometimes theres not enough time in the day. We are having thunder storms, with rain all day tomorrow. November rain, its pretty chilly here. Suppose to have a hard freeze this weekend. Yippie, winters on the way. Have you heard anything about TSO being in your area? They are suppose to be here sometime in November. Bless you and the DF.

Squirrellygirly, thanks! Congrats on your new car, I love the color too.

Josnaj, thanks sister, we did make one news paper, so hopefuly we can get the petition in more. Iam like you, I buy alot of books, and love to look at them, and read some of them again too. I have an impressive Stephen King collection with a signed copy of the Stand. It will by sons one day, if nothing happens to them.

Titus, I wish I could send you our cold air.

Kescha,
A signed book by Stephen King... that's impressive! I've read all his books and his son's 2 books too.

Titus,
I'd much rather have our chilly fall weather than put up with the heat and humidity of Florida. Of course sometime in late January Florida starts looking mighty good Big Grin

Hey everyone,
We had a power outage last night for about two and a half hours. Due to high winds raking a good sized tree down. We had to work in the dark for a while but it wasn't too bad.
Stephen king...I don't read too many of his books. Like the movies though...hahah. I do read James Patterson though and John Grisham.
Not much else going on here. Time to make lunch/dinner then, off to work.
Have a good night everyboy. I'll see ya' all tomorrow.

Howdy folks.

josnaj, I can totally understand what your friend feels like. I have pumpkin and cinnamon scents in my potpourri pots just so I can atleast "kinda" get the feel for Fall. It's horrible here at the moment. Feels like late June early July all over again Frown

kescha, I wish you could send some of that cooler weather this way. If I wasn't so close to retirement in a few years..........I'd be soooooooooooo outta here. I hope I can catch you in the morning. Things should be on the mild side tomorrow........THANKFULLY!

squirrellygirly, I'd much rather have your cooler weather too. Wink It would be so wonderful to experience the four seasons.

Hiya Mike, Sorry about your power outage, that had to be ruff. Don't work too hard. Catch you tomorrow.

Hello everyone. It's been a busy week and I just can't seem to find time to post. Gonna have to schedule it, just like everything else!

Weird weather here the last few days. Yesterday it was 87 and today it's 65. They are predicting lows in the 40s by Tuesday. The leaves haven't changed color much...I'm afraid they may go from green to gone...with no in-between. At least there are lots of acorns this year....last year we had NONE. This year's crop seem bigger than usual and there are a lot of them. The squirrels are very busy carting them off to who knows where.

I leave on Friday for my business trip to Prague. I'm really looking forward to it. I bought a little Canon digital camera today...and I do mean LITTLE. It's the size of a deck of playing cards and weighs almost nothing. It will fit easily in my purse, which is great. Also bought a sleeve for my laptop so I don't have to take the big case. The sleeve will go right in my rolling carryon. The hotel has free WiFi so I hope to be able to keep in touch.

Hope all are doing well.

Hi Susy,
Hope you have a chance to snap some pics on your trip. I would love to see them if possible. Not a lot going on in Upstate, NY today. Cold, windy Fall day.Cold tonight with a frost warning. It's TOO early for this. Did I ever mention that I HATE winter ?
Well, I signed up for Sirius satellite radio yesterday. It is actually pretty cool. I bought a dock & play unit, and a home kit so, we can listen in my vehicle and the house. I got the music only subscription and I DO like it. Lots of variety and the sound quality is good. Just ordered a new cd player for the DF's pathfinder. I'll be installing that next Saturday. This thing does almost everything. I can hook my Ipod to it, the Sirius receiver, it has a front USB post to play music on a flash drive, it plays cd's and MP3 discs, and it has built in HD radio receiver and built in bluetooth for her phone. How cool ?!?
Well, I've talked enough. Have a great Monday. It's a day off for the DF and I. I'll see you all tomorrow. Stay safe and God Bless.

Now my shepherd, Dillenger is having some serious problems with his Perianul Fistual Disease. Hes had it for three years. Its a horrible thing, the fun never stops. My poor baby. I hope you have a great day, bless you and the DF.

Hi Susybear, it nice to see you posting. Some of our leaves turned over night, and some are just falling off. Strange weather is right. Have a safe trip, its sounds like fun, even if its business.

Morning Meerkatmike, Iam sorry you got woken up so early! I dont realy want to go into the details of what Dillenger has. You can google it if you want. The vet changed his meds a little bit, so hopefuly that will help. We have over 200 students at the high school out with swine flu. I think we have already had it, but Iam not sure. Have a great day, looks like chicken and noodles tonight. Bless you and the DF.

Squirellygirly, it looks like an early winter for alot of us.

Hey Titus, no change yet, but Iam hopeful. Hugs

Hi all. Been MIA on "vacation" (staying home & actually getting stuff from the move few yrs ago done). Back to work today with the 3am wake-up. Got spoiled last week.

Meerkatmike - the early wake-up is bad but at least they're repairing your sinkhole. We've got potholes almost as large on some streets. Offroad folks think it's great.

Squirrelygirly, congrats on the Scion. A friend just loves hers!

Susybear, have fun in Prague. My Grandmother went there & loved it. However, it was still the Cold War period & my Grandfather being a govt. guy at the Hague wasn't allowed in any of those cities/countries. Enjoy, it looks beautiful!

Kescha, I hope Dillinger gets to feeling better soon. It's hard when they can't tell you what's wrong.

Everyone with warm weather, please send some to WA! We're back to rain/wind/cold!

All paws waving!
