Hi Meerkatmike, thanks for the prayers for Dillenger. He was very sick. He also had some pancreas disase, so we had to put him down today. He would have been four Oct the 22. This has been very hard and depressing for me. I need to help my other Shephed through this. It hasnt been that long since we lost our Stormy girl, and Brutal and Dillenger were very close. My pup and his cousin Ryan burried him the back yard next to Stormy. We wanted him here so Brutal can have some closure too. Anyway, not much else to say. Bless you and the DF.

Kescha I feel bad for poor Brutal. Do you think you'll get another dog to be his companion? I know that's hard to think about now, and of course no one can take the place of sweet Dillenger.

I made pasta with broccoli over the weekend, and I brought some of the leftovers for lunch today. I love leftovers!

Not much going on here. I only have 2 more races left this year, a 5K next week and the Richmond Marathon in November. After Richmond my racing season will be over until February, and I'll just train through the winter but no races.

Kescha, I know Dillenger would have been four tomorrow, and I wish him a Happy Birthday. I know this must be a very hard time for you, but hang in there sister, as we are all praying for you.

Meergato, I've heard of Bear Creek stuff, but have yet to try them out. Sounds yummy. I'm not one to make home made soups, but I'll try the pre-made stuff it they are any good.

Meerkatmike, sorry to have been gone so long. I'm eagerly awaiting the holidays, though we are not doing much for Halloween, just handing out the candy. I bought about six bags and may need more, for we have tons of kiddos in our hood.

Squirrelly, good luck on the races. Do you actually train outdoors in the winter? In my old hometown, my physical trainer did the Polar Bear Express, in which she ran about 15 miles in the dead of winter when the temperatures were in the teens. I asked her is she was crazy, and she said she was fine and dandy last time she looked, lol.

Titus, I think WW treats are yummy. They have cookie bars for 100 calories, and non-sugar ones for about 140, which are bigger and tastes very sweet to me. I've ransacked some of the Halloween candy(the horrors), but I'm sick of that now. Had to buy more bags. Have to be careful around Thanksgiving, so I don't regain weight, but thankfully turkey isn't chock full of calories, just the stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce...mmmm.

We are expecting rain this weekend, that figures, but everyone have a good rest of the week!

Josnaj, as a base, the Bear Creek soups are great. I can never just cook something just out of the bag or can without adding to it. The chili turned out good. A friend brought me back some clams from her clamming trip yesterday & I added those to my left over BC potato soup (w/leeks & garlic & bit o pepper) & had instant chowder. Some more tonite. I'm trying to eat healthier to go along with my 2 more intense dance classes this session. Learning to move my hips in both Egyptian & Turkish. Never knew there were languages for that!

Squirrelygirly, have fun on your last races. You're an inspiration. Broccoli & pasta -yum!

Titus, I made a mistake about the WW cakes. The stuff I buy are called Tasty Kakes, and they have diet as well as the high calorie treats. There cookie bars, low calorie are pretty good, but Tasty Kakes may be regional. I don't know if they sell them in your neck of the burrow. But I have tried WW treats before, and I enjoyed them as well. Problem is, I can't stop at one, lol.

Kescha, I'm sure Brutal would welcome a new friend. When furbabies are accustomed to having others with them, they do tend to bond with new friends. I hope this is the case with Brutal. By the way I do looooove the cold weather, just not the rain. It's still too warm here to wear sweaters, bummer, and my winter sweaters are begging to be worn.

Meergato, Egyptian and Turkish dance moves? That must be awesome, and your classes sure sound like a lot of fun. I would try something like that, but I'm afraid too many things would fall out of place, lol.

Hey SG, & JOS, BOY ! Did it ever rain here today. We were in the car and it came down in buckets. Went to a home show because my best friend builds custom kitchen cabinets and had a display there. Meerkatmike, I checked out those cabinets, and my eyes bulged out of my head. What a talent your friend is! The first kitchen(the one that first pops up when you get into the site)looks like my mom's kitchen, with the brown woodwork and granite countertops.

Eeek, we are supposed to have a wet rainy week, starting Tuesday. I guess the kiddos will have to brave the wet weather for Halloween. They better come soon, cause those candy bars I have in the pantry look too good to me!

Hi everyone,
Well, it was an expensive morning. I started out getting the front struts replaced on my vehicle. That was $300.00. Then I added an oil change for another $35.00. Lastly, the garage called and said the stabilizer links were bad. That was an additional $120.00. I'm broke but at least my vehicle rides like new...hahaha.
Hope you all have a cheaper Monday than I have so far. The day isn't over yet...maybe I can win the lottery and recoup some of the funds spent. Have a great day and I'll see you all tomorrow. God Bless.

Ouch! All that money to fix the car has got to hurt. Our mechanic is a former co-worker of my DM, and my DM does inexpensive house painting for him in exchange for inexpensive car repairs. It's a win-win deal.
Good to see alot of you on Facebook. I recognized Mike,Kescha,Josnaj, Korkie, and Krazolkat. Some of the other names I couldn't figure out if I knew them or not.

I'm going to make pasta again for dinner. I have broccoli and ground beef to throw in with it.

Nice to see you guys actually remember me. ^^ I think I already told you about how I'm a mod over at my pokemon forum now, right? Anyway, we've been having several problems with fighting and misunderstandings lately and I remembered how we were so much like a family here and always stuck together even through the rough times, just like a mob. It always felt so warm here. I wanted to share that with my other forum. Then I remembered how long it'd been since I'd been here. Hehehe, strong call to go home I guess.

Takes forever to get something to come up and then when you minimize, part of the screen is left there. What a mess. I guess I'm going to have to get another one. This one is ancient anyways and I don't think my computer man can put anymore memory on it.

Kescha, sorry you and your pup are sick again. Hopefully, it won't be nearly as bad as before. When I get the flu or a bad cold, I have to take antibiotics, because I tend to have trouble breathing since it settles in my lungs.

I dressed up as L Lawliet from Death Note as school today (Google if you don't know who he is), but almost nobody knew who I was, just that I looked way different (a friend or two didn't even recognize me XD). Oh well, I'm a bit fat to be L anyway.
But something bugged me about the other people's costumes. So many of the girls were wearing tiny skirts and the ones that were supposed to be nurses looked like... well, I think you get my point. I love autumn and Halloween used to be my favorite holiday, but now I'm not so sure. I still love October the most out of all months, but Halloween has turned into an opportunity to dress trashy or as a complete stereotype, which I detest with my whole being. *sigh*

Attila, I looked up L on Wiki, and I must say, you probably had on an impressive wig, lol. All I can say about young ladies today is that they are growing up very fast and want to look older than they actually are. Not ALL of them, mind you, but there are those who do look up to Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus...you get my drift. Take pride that you don't fall into that category; you've grown up to be quite an awesome young lady, Attila.

In my time, we wore those plastic Halloween costumes with the masks that you could barely breathe out of. But we all had a ton of fun. I stopped trick or treating when I was fourteen, though, and that was a sad time. Tonight, we celebrated Halloween in my neck of the burrow, and it was fun to see the children with their wonderful outfits. I had to give away the excess candy to my friend's kids though.

Hi Mike, Boy it was gale force winds today in Hamburg. I only live less than a mile, in apparently the beginning of the NY southern tier. Only had 8 brave kids for candy, too windy and cold. Spent the day quilting. Let the doggies out for a run a while ago, they ran right back, too cold.

Hello Mike and friends! It's been a long time since I've been here. I spent 10 days in Prague on business and have spent the last week trying to catch up both at home and at work. Prague is a beautiful city but the weather was not great...it was cloudy, cool and rainy most of the time. I took a few pictures and will try to get them posted in the next few days.

Kescha, so sorry to read about Dillenger. I know you miss him. Give Brutal an extra hug for me.

Titus, I just bought a new mini-computer yesterday. It's another Gateway...that makes three of them for me! After schlepping my big 17" one through TSA security on my trip, I decided a little one would be a LOT easier...and lighter. You may not really need a new computer..you may have a virus. When my older Gateway started slowing down and exhibiting the symptoms you described (the windows not closing completely), I did a system scan and discovered a virus. Once I got rid of it, the speed came back up to par. I had been running anti-virus software but somehow that particular virus sneaked in anyway. There are a lot of free system scan programs out there that could help you. Mike might be able to give you the name of a good one. I run Norton anti-virus now and it seems to find and block EVERYTHING...no more problems with viruses since I installed it.

It was drizzly but warm last night and we only had 8 trick-or-treaters. Living on a cul-de-sac, we only get the local kids and there aren't many. This neighborhood is full of older, retired folks with only a few families with children. There was one group with two mothers and two walking kids, with another one in a stroller. The baby in the stroller was dressed in a furry lion costume, complete with a tail that was draped over the side of the stroller. He was adorable!
