Right now we use the bottles with the liners and they only hold 6 oz. My son is 7 1/2 months old and he seems to be still hungry after having one bottle. I've looked for bigger bottle that uses the same nipple size, but I can't find any. Does anyone know where to get some bigger bottles or have a better idea?
I don't know of any bottles that would take larger liners. However, I use the plastic Gerber bottles. They come in packs of three and you can get either 6 oz bottles or 9 oz bottles. I switched my daughter to the 9 oz bottles at around 6 months because the 6 oz just wasn't cutting it anymore. I would recommend getting one pack for now and making sure it works for you (giving him the full 9oz of course). If they work for you (and I'm sure they will), 6 bottles (2 packs) should be enough to handle your daily bottle feeding requirements. Good luck!
Lostmommy - which bottles are you using? I switched to the Gerber NUK Orthodontic Bottles because I couldn't find anything that would fit with the same nipples we have now and these nipples are the same shape as his pacifier. Anyway I was wondering if you have the nipple with the air venting thing. I don't know if it works right with my son, but he seems to do fine with it. when he starts eating the nipple with colaspe after a while. My husband tried the fast flow nipple and my son choked after a while. Do you know how it works exactly?
It took me awhile to figure it out - I was having the same problem. I learned it was the collar. If it's on too tight, it totally blocks the air holes. Of course, if it's too loose, it can leak. Once you find "the sweet spot" of collar tightness, you won't have that proble manymore.
