I've seen a lot of people complaining about the show and how it's unrealistic, bad for nature and how they're all big cry-babies. I can partly understand where some of you are coming from.

Granted, they did start with a cabin, a bunch of tools, and food. And most of them made some really stupid life endangering mistakes. But people are sitting at home in their heated/air-conditioned houses with comfortable furniture and a computer in front of them.

A lot of posts have been made about the killing of the animals and how it's hurting the environment. Overall, they killed less than 15 animals, most of them being small. They cut down just enough wood to keep themselves warm and there's probably the same amount or more wood in the houses we live in. So for those people who think this show is hurting the environment, why don't you look at the big picture. The only reason why you're complaining is because you're to lazy to look up current events that might actually effect the environment. You saw a show on Discovery channel and decided to be a tree-hugger because you thought it was bad.

I know this post isn't going to stop all the people who think this show is bad, but please, at least read this and understand where other people are coming from, don't made automatic assumptions.

I find it difficult to judge how well these people did because I wasn't there. A lot of people on these forums are criticizing most if not all of the people on the show, but what you forget is that the producers purposely choose the juiciest parts of the show with the best arguments to get more people interested. I'd like to see you live with your family while always ravenous, completely exhausted, in an unknown environment, and with cabin fever. I would probably do just as badly with my family or worse, because I'm not nearly as polite with them: they're family. The other groups were either couples or friends, there's a natural politeness with friends.

keep your illogical arguments to yourself

So those hosts in the show are better, what were they doing before? and what will they do after the show.. sit in a non a.c , uncomfortable furniture..

Yep! It's perfectly OK with me and it's not a crime either.

No, what I'm saying is that there has been a lot of complaint about hurting the environment, when I say look at the big picture, I'm saying that the people complaining about it need to realize the amount of other things going on all around the world which is MUCH worse then this show.

And about keeping my illogical arguments to myself, you might want to follow your own advice.

I'm also not understanding the constant harping on the girls' weight and how much they did or did not lose. Some people are heavy, others aren't. Weight should be as much of a non-issue as race.

Hey, D4V3, when did you get appointed "Defender of the Lame?" And the show is lame to the max. Putting a bunch of yahoos out there and having them kill animals for no reason other that to have a show is lame.

And you're lame for defending it. And you're probably a bit of a sissy too who got beat up a lot so you like seeing small things hurt.

And it's chunkleheads like you that cause us to have to buy foreign oil and support terrorism. You can call others treehugger for wanting to save the environment, but I call you terrorist hugger for not being bright enough to see what happens when we don't. You pansy.

I just got done watching the episode with the 100 yr old photo comarison and the humpback whales. In my opinion the kayakers got entirely toooo close to the whales. When they took their boat to the shore to trade it out for a kayak that was a mistake. They intruded on those whales space. These actors portray a concern for the glaciers and ice shelves for the longevity of the animals up here but are not respecting them in the present. All in all, wild animals should be viewed and admired from a distance as to not interupt their lives. This show is a contradiction with each moment that passes during each show.

There are NO episodes of the Alaska Experiment showing kayakers anywhere near the whales. By the time Jeff and Elizabeth were paddling in the ice... the whales had already migrated towards baja mexico or hawaii!!!
