is it true that monster garage is doing a vw drag car? i read it at cal-look forum but just wanted to make sure. anybody know anything aobut that.

"Ron Lummus NHRA driver on the team as a special guest on the popular Discovery Channel show Monster Garage to turn a few wrenches with host Jesse James to help transform an innocent 1951 Beetle into what will surely become an intense, jaw-dropping machine.


James hand-picked Lummus to assist with this project since he brings years of knowledge and experience as well as one characteristic that separates him from all other candidates.

While few details of the project have been released, one can only speculate that between Lummus’ experience and James’ imagination , the 1951 Bug will quickly become a terrifying über-Beetle."

Look for Lummus on the Monster Garage fall season premier at the end of August on the Discovery Channel.

Side note, once this show airs MG will have built all three of my cars into monsters. Is that a record or something?
I own a 2000 New Beetle, a 1960 Beetle, and a 1964 Lincoln Continental.

It was tough seeing the lincoln chopped in half. I hope the Split fares better. I am sure you guys took great care of it.

The build was an incredible blast, what an awesome experience, most fun Ive ever had busting my hump for a week !
