I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my second child. I recently went in for my first prenatal, only to find out that I had a urinary tract infection due to Group B Strep. I am now on antibiotics and am freaking out. I don't know much about it and won't be relieved until I see my Ob next week. I have stopped reading about it b/c everything I read makes me terrified. Is there anyone out there that was also tested positive for this that can shed some light for me? I'm worried that something horrible will be the end result for my unborn child.............

I tested positive during one of my pregnancies and was told I'd need antibiotics by IV during delivery. I was tested later on, maybe around week 32, or 36. Well..I nearly had that baby in the car, so didn't have time for any meds, and all was fine. My doctor had told me it's no big deal to test positive. Relax and best wishes!
