Lately I have been on a diet for about 16 days, I have added Cardio to my daily routine of approximately 30 mins. My daily Caloric intake is between 1000 and 1200. Before I started my diet I was on the Adkins low carb, No carb diet for 7-8 yrs. and quit one day because I was always tired and managed to gain some weight.
Since I have started this diet I have gained 3 lbs. I am not sure why.My current weight is 149 my height is 5'8". My measuremens are 36, 30, 40. Am I at the right caloric intake for my weight and height? Is there anything I can do to help me lose at least 10lbs.maybe something that I am not already doing. If there is anyone who can give me an opinion on this matter, I would appreciate it very much.

Try Taebo. That is the key.

Losing weight is always hard...but here's a tip. Weight is mostly just a number. That's why they usually give you multiple numbers when you do a fitness quiz/test/whatever. Here's why: MUSCLES wiegh MORE than fat. So when you first start your workouts you will gain WIEGHT, but start losing "inches" and most importantly body fat. Keep that in mind. I have to keep reminding myself of that every time I go in for weigh-ins. I'm training to join the army (not doing so hot right now, but I'm still working at it) and sometimes looking at that scale so depresses me that I say "I quit, I'm done, screw it!" But I know that my dream is to one day be a soldier, so I have to keep going...and so I take all those numbers--waist size, wrist size, forarms, thighs...all my areas. Try it.

coraz,
has anyone helped you figure out what the standard is for your age/hieght/ and weight for the army?

let me know if you need some help. I'm a LT in the army been in for 16 years( Prior E-7) never scored less than 290 on the Army physical fitness test and I have to be taped after every PT test. It's great to see that you want to join. I hope that you acheive your goals please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.

I appreciate all of your help. It has been a while since I posted this, but here's an update of my weight. In May I underwent some surgery and was unable to workout or even get out of bed for a while. I ended up losing about 10 pounds. I thought..."Thank God, that's 10 ugly pounds I don't have to worry about getting off."
Now, instead of the 20 pounds I originally wanted to get off, I only have 10lbs to lose.
For the last week I have been using weights, hoping that if I use them I would drop weight and tone all at once. I take measurements on a regular basis and it seems that I have gained 1 inch in my hips. Can anyone explain to me how this happened or why? I feel fatter after every workout or bulky, I can't really tell which of the one I feel more of. Please give me an opinion.
