Since I have lost fittv, I have been looking for other ways to tone, firm and lose about 5-10 pounds. Can anyone tell me if you can weight train to lose weight and firm at the same time? I recently read in another site that weight training can help with weight loss. I have a home gym and have been steadily using it for about 7-8 days. Since I started, I feel like I am getting bigger or fatter (I guess), but feel like it's a bad thing. I don't want to get bulky or fatter, I just want to lose a little extra weight, tone and firm. Can someone give me a few tips about this? Since I started this I have gained 1 inch in my hips.....YUK! My current height and weight is: 5'7" and 140lbs. Goal weight is 130-135. Any suggestions, tips, and or opinions?

Joyce,

You should check out Kettlebell training. You get a great weight training and cardio workout at the same time. Plus it won't take you longer than 30 minutes. No joke. And this is not a Curves workout. ;o)

There are pictures and info on my website at NoFearFitness.com.

I would love for FitTV to do a spot on KB training. It has been featured in many magazines recently as well.

Check it out and let me know what you think. Also, if you have any questions let me know.

Best,
Lisa

WOW Lisa,
I just saw your web site for Kettle Bell training and I got goose bumps - I'm very impressed. Not only a different way to train - But I also like the psychological perspective you have. This type of training reminds me of the old school - where there is no fancy machines - but real good results. I love your motto:
No Fear = Having Courage
No Fear = Stepping outside of your comfort zone
No Fear = Striving for excellence
No Fear = Accepting responsibility for yourself
This is a much different perspective than I'm used to - I am definitely going to try this type of exercise.
Good Luck Smile
