ok new question i believe... this is a little hard to explain

Question: say i go to port moresby, theres 3 crewmembers i can hire but no specialists. will the SAME 3 people always be there untill i hire one and a new one pops up? or they rotate once in a while? understand??

The available crew won´t change until you hire somebody. To hire the specialists you´ll need to hire somebody else before.

Follow a similar strategy to what I gave the dude07 above, it's more or less the key to getting started in the game, in my opinion. The thing with gas can be annoying and if clearing cash, moving a little closer to port, and all the other suggestions out there don't work just go sailing and hope for the best. There have been reports of some people sailing for days on an "empty" tank. Your next two achievements will come in just a few more dives and they have good cash bonuses.

As for the movement issue, are the waypoints clearing when you tell it to stop? If not it will continue to travel. Also, even with no waypoints set, the speed will default to normal but you will not move and will not burn gas.

i ave no waypoints when i do this. i just want my boat to sit and regenerate stamina without losing fuel. I have enough fuel to stay close to the shark and get me back to port so im trying to dive a few times to get money to hire new crew and more fuel. But yeah ill have the boat sit and after a while it will start moving unprovoked.

Hmm, what reference points are you using to track your unprovoked movement? Is it smooth or sudden, and how fast? I have had cases personally where I have reached a waypoint and then been magically "teleported" back to where I started my journey. It happens rarely so I attribute it to the excess volume on the servers. If you're experiencing a smooth, steady drift covering several hundred miles, or waypoints appearing on their own I would report it to the developers in a new thread using "DEV" in the title.

no it really doesnt move much that i can see,but it still wastes my fuel.

I've heard that was a common glitch last year, best I can say is let the Dev's know.

My question is this: To complete a shark do you need a specialist to get certain information (i.e. reproductive) ?

To complete a shark you just need at least one piece of each type of data from a single shark. No specialists are required. A specialist will also not increase your chances of gathering a particular type of data.

What exactly are the benefits of being in groups? Aside from just having people to talk to.

My question was prompted because people were speaking as if by joining a group they could "help out" in whatever it is the objective was, i.e.: taking down those dasturdly imop, or completeing research projects.

I would like to find a spreadsheet, or listing, of my accomplishments. Is there a place to see which sharks I have visited how many times and what equipment I have used thus far...or should I have just been keeping up with it on my own? I know there is limited data here & there, ut I'm searching for the Holy Grail of data!

I had bought chaimail, but see no mention of this on my boat info. s it implied that have it...or did I not receive it? How do I know that I have it?

Alright, I am new at this.. but as I said in my post ports CAN rip U off. If U have money and R close enough go back to the port and buy gas again. Otherwise, it will cost U a 10000 tow fee!!!

Sometimes the server is a bit slow and it takes a while for the data packets to go through. Just refresh the page a few times, maybe walk away for an hour or two. Whatever you do, don't buy it multiple times because that's just throwing money away. When the purchase finally goes through it will say "already purchased" in the store and the item will be visible from the "boat info" screen.

ok there is an acheievment that says u need to get the completet set of data on all 10 tiger sharks. I counted the sharks and only found 9 cna i have some help? and also this is the same for the reef shark data collected achivemnt i only found 9 of them too
