I looked for information about Kat's shop and all I found was a form about how to be on the show that asks "why are you special?" Well, I'm not. I don't care if I'm on the show. I like Kat's personality after seeing her on Miami Ink and am curious about her shop and the philosophy behind her and the other artists' work.

I have a single tatt and I'm mostly happy with the design but not the color. I was referred to "the best shop" in the city I was living in at the time and explained to the artist what I wanted but still came away less than satisfied. Somehow, my idea of black, even after pointing it out on other tatts, came out green.

I don't know the art. I don't know the technique. I have an idea of what I want but not an image. I've seen examples but they don't quite fit the feeling I'm looking for. I also don't know what's possible. Are there shops where you can consult with the artist and go back and forth on the design before committing? What's the difference between a koi facing left or right? Rising or falling? What is the difference between a leopard extending its right paw vs. its left? My experience has been like walking into a museum and having the curator stare down his/her nose at you when you ask a question and feeling embarrassed so you don't ask more questions...but but the experts are there to answer questions, yes?

I'm in SF NoCal and SoCal isnt very far away and I want my tattoo to have meaning.

So, my question, why Kat's shop?
