I think kat should be ashamed, trying to steal this idea to the guys of miami, after all they did for her. i like kat but she is not a tattoo artist, she can only do black and white, an artist should do it all.. Not to talk that Ami, Nunez, Garver, and Darren are so much better tattoers than kat..give a little time to yoji ! And l.a. ink doesn't have any dynamic , it's boring. sorry for bad english, all this to say i like them all, but kat you will never be as good as the boys! MIAMI INK RULES !

Yeah Miami Ink is better.... if you like to watch a bunch of whining sissy guys be lead by an egotistical maniac. But if you like to see some Amazing Tats then look no farther than LA Ink. At least you don't have to be caught up in their petty BS and can gaze upon some serious Art.

Rebelryder--Whining sissy dudes? Yes, that's worse than an arrogant, childish one-demensional 'artist' that can decide which guy she wants to be with (there's a word for that, but I won't say it).

I would so prefer to get tattooed in a shop where I can have hairless cats rub against me, breathe secondhand smoke, and have some skateboader fly off the ramp into my artist's tattoo machine, thus stabbing me. Oh, and have you seen Kat's office? I keep thinking there's gonna be some kind of sacrificial ceremony with all those creepy red candles. YES! TAKE ME THERE!

Something tells me you don't know what a good shop is...

There IS some serious art going on in BOTH shops...and as far as the "BS" level...I think Kat wins that one, hands down. This show had the potential to be really good...the OTHER tattooists there are serious about their art and seem to conduct their lives with some class and dignity, from what is shown on-air, anyways. But the LEAD of this fiasco is WHAT MAKES IT ONE....an infantile megalomaniac that is just NOT the type of person who should be running her own business...or lead a show.
I have read several comments on her Myspace page lately where people have said that going to her shop is like going to a weed festival, and that the people there were rude to these fans who went there to get a tattoo, or just to get a pic with Kat. They were NOT happy with their experience at all. One was a 14 year old girl. I feel bad that she had to learn the truth about her "idol" in such a manner.
Daisy...somehow I KNEW you'd be answering this post...I SO look forward to seeing what you have to say! Cool

I am a fan of both shows. I recently got a tattoo from Kim, The incredible Raccoon Budha. It was an amazing experience. I met all of the artists, everyone was friendly. There was no skateboarding going on, no one smoked in the shop and there wasn't a hairless cat walking around, it was being carried. If you watch these shows and think they are true to life, you are mistaken. The people behind the scenes were just as friendly.

Qween-
You were there being filmed. The experiences that I read about took place when the cameras were off. I got the feeling that things are quite different then. When TLC's around, it seems as if everyone is at their best behaviour, but not quite so when things are "business as usual".
What is presented as "the everyday experience" is not quite what REALLY goes on. You had an artist that is there for filming purposes ONLY -she does not represent the everyday worker there.

My everyday experience in a tattoo shop, pryor to L.A. Ink, was horrible. The tattoo artist was drunk, I asked for another one. That one had to step outside for a smoke every five minutes. Visiting the shop and then seeing the portrayal of my visit, were true to life. There was alot left out though. You didn't get to see how real these artists are. I got to meet them, I overheard them talking about normal everyday things. They are just everyday people, with a camera in their face. Their artwork is some like I have never seen. Just like every show on television, they say or do things for ratings. I will continue to watch, they rock.
