They were fired by the show's producers because they didn't bring enough drama to the show, but on the show Kat made it like they left to pursue other interests. Just more of LA Ink's continued fakery.

There was plenty of drama till they got rid of Pixie.
Unfortunately, I think they are trying to "add" drama with "characters" like Aubrey. I'm pretty annoyed. People watched the show for the art, not for the drama. AND now, fake or I beleive STAGED, drama. I don't beleive its for real.
You know who else is missing? The shop manager that is Kat's friend. Petite and very competent she was! She came in after Pixie. Now she knew what she was doing. I wish I could remember her name. She represented the shop in front of the city council when they put up the wall art out back.
Oh, yeah, she was great! Naheed Simjee - she's the girlfriend of somebody in Modest Mouse. But, yeah, she's pretty, smart and actually got things done. Unfortunately, she wasn't a freakish drama queen, so TLC dumped her, too.
If it is true that Hannah and Kim were let go by TLC, why wasn't there more press about it? I would like to see them interviewed and hear what happened from them.
Thanks for posting the link with Kims interview, that cleared some things up. As for TLC...Kat should tell them where to go, sign with a new network and then produce the show herself. That would end the immature drama being fed to us week after week.
Yes! That's exactly what she should do. Nunez and Ami did that and are producers for their new show. I think they even made their own production company.
Nobody else wants to carry this type of tabloid television. Every year TLC programming sinks to a new low taking down the I.Q. of the average viewer with it. Remember- TLC is funding the whole John & Kate debacle. We can only hope there's a thorough housecleaning at TLC and they get back to television worth our attention!
The following needs to take place if the show is to survive: First, TLC should fire the producer that fired Hannah and Kim. Then bring Pixie back or someone like her to replace Aubrey who gets on men's nerves. By the way, men viewers don't want to watch a soap. The show should be about the tattoo art (how its done) and reason behind it and the beautiful talented tattoo lady artists like Kat of course, Hannah, and Kim. Some drama will automatically follow. Make it happen TLC! Later-

You know, I go to New York frequently and I love it.
That being said, any tv show about anything - ESPECIALLY reality shows - is fake. So, sorry to say, and no disrespect implied, but it would be just as fake in NY as anywhere, because fake drama brings ratings, and ratings bring ad revenue.
I have to say that the loss of Kim and Hannah really took the wind out of why I "used" to love this show. Where else can you watch art from conception to finish with a little 'shrink' action on the couch to boot. I love Corey and Kat, but the two ladies really rounded out the show and I am heart broken that you handed them their hats purely to bring some formula conflict into the mix. I am going to miss watching the show I used to look forward to.
I agree with all who miss Hannah and Kim. How many shows with an ensemble cast of well-liked characters could survive after half the cast bales out? This isn't the Kat show, it's LA Ink and the strength of the show was in the original cast of 4 talented artists. This season we're left with Kat and her enormous ego, Corey abusing Aubry, Aubry being abused, Dan Smith (the refugee from H.R. Puf'n Stuff) and a skanky shop manager with the personality of a female prison guard.
Someone should start a protest. I may do that on facebook. We have power to get TLC to cancel LA Ink and remove the fakeness from the show. It was a great show idea killed by producers idea of what we wanted to see. We owe it to the people Kat has screwed over since the beginning of the show...Pixie, Hannah, Kim, Kat's boyfriends (poor guy with the hippie hair and glasses), and now two tattoo artists messed up by Kat's HUGE ego.
^ I can see that. If that's true, for his sake, I hope he realizes how bad his behavior is making him look and turn it around. It would be more fun if he wrote a tell-all book!
I wouldn't worry about Orbi too much. He's stinking rich and lives by the beach. Despite having the appearance of a skid row wino he still manages to get a lineup of girls waiting for him.
I thought Kat hired Hannah and Kim because they were her friends? Why would she let TLC fire them? If they meant that much to her they would still be there.

And Pixie was her best friend, right? So much so she had Pixie's face tattooed on her hip? Yeah, right.
Like Kat cares about Hannah & Kim. Anyway, it's not Kat's show - TLC runs the whole shebang, and TLC fired Hannah & Kim because they wouldn't let them film their personal lives, or participate in scripted drama on the show. They just wanted to educate the viewing public on tattoos and have the chance to get their art & perspective seen. I read in a recent interview that not only did Kat not even bother to show up to the meeting when TLC fired Hannah & Kim, but she never bothered to contact them afterwards, either. Some friend.

Agreed. But when Kat pressured Orbi to ask her to marry him, then Orbi asked Kat's dad for "her hand in marriage" on the show and then we find out she's thrown him over for Nikki (who was Orbi's friend, too) - man, that was terrible. And to do that to him on national tv? Unforgiveable. Sure, the dude's set, but people who watch the show will always remember him as the jilted guy, you know? That was pretty classless of her! Cringe-o-rama.
While we're listing Kat's worn-out and obnoxious phrases, the list would be incomplete without "It's Hollywood, BABE", and the perennial favorite, "DO YOU LOVE IT???" repeated after completing most tattoos (going back to Miami Ink days and probably before) That is Soooooo RAAAAAAD!
To those involved with this new format... Are you even reading these posts??? I got on here to point out how the show has sunk, and here I read all the stuff I was going to point out written by multiple people... Get back to great tats and real peoples stories. This show was real until you started this "soap opera" crap. I'm pretty much done with it unless it goes back to a real people format... not this "un-reality" that's being puked on my set now.
To anyone wondering where Hannah and Kim are...they are at home watching this and thanking God they were removed from production. I hope they are able to get together and watch the shows with glasses of wine laughing at what Kat and Corey have done to their reputation and credibility in the tattoo community

Nah, they don't care enough to watch the show. Kim's in L.A. and Hannah's in Chicago, so they're not watching it together, either. They're both just happy to be off the sinking shipwreck!
ok I'm confused they got ride of Hannah and Kim because they werent causing enough drama but they kept that woman hating Corey around??? And I love Pixie she was so cool and real. im sorry I was rooting for Kat back on that whole Miamia thing but I NOW SEE WHY THEY BOOTED HER. kat needs to get back in the shop. I dont care about her perfume or about what guy shes with. I want to see the art work. and Im sorry but Paulie did some beautiful work and kats not giving him a real shot. As for aubry she may be alittle slow on the uptake but she has a good heart. and Corey and Kat make her cry what a couple of bullies.

I think that Corey needs to go and kat needs to get her rear end back in the shop. No one cares about your perfume we want to see the art. No wonder they booted you in Miami
Since I don't watch the show anymore, what happened with the mural in the finale? Did ANYONE appear at all remorseful while painting over Hannah & Kim? You know, the original members of the team? Although I'm sure Kat doesn't even remember they were ever there...

What makes you think that TLC won't have fake drama in New York? They had fake drama on Miami Ink and LA Ink.
Chances are I won't watch anymore shows about tattooing on TLC until they learn. HA learn on the learning channel to STOP the FAKE BS. I really believe that Kat was fired from Miami Ink so she could do her show in LA. Which means she wasn't really fired, but it was made to look that way.
You're right on all counts. Ami actually came clean shortly after LA Ink's debut that Kat's "firing" was just that - scripted and fake, so Kat could go do a spinoff.
Welcome to the lame and shallow world of "drama" my friends. As a visual artist I found the original show & original cast riveting not because of the so-called soap opera drama but because of the ART DRAMA. It is sad to think the producers believed Hannah & Kim were not dramatic enough. Too bad they couldn't see that Kat had enough drama for all. Kat,Corey,Hannah & Kim, ALL great tattoo artists whose individual styles & techniques provided a terrific variety of choice for their patrons,& made watching the creation of their tattoos a fascinating experience. I have attempted to watch this new season but after the first few were more of the same drival I just let the episodes pile up on the DVR. I finally got caught up while being laid up from illness & I have to say they NEVER got any better. The creativity light has been switched off. Sorry for Kat Von D who truly is a creative being but unfortunately looks like she is heading for the old artist's block.
