Back at the end of season 1, Flower had a very adventurous pup named Columbus. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Columbus as a pup was played by Kim, later he was played by Machu Pichu.

This year Machu Pichu played Mitch.

Meerkat Manor sometimes changes names of meerkats, or uses stand-ins to play certain meerkats. A pup called Kim by the researchers was called Columbus in Season 1, but for Seasons 2 and 3 they used Machu Pichu to "play" Columbus, because they wanted to keep mentioning him. In Season 4, the real Mitch roved away from Whiskers with Zaphod, but apparently wanted to strike out on his own and look for a group to join where he could be dominant himself instead of Zaphod. He eventually left the area (we are hoping he is alive and well with his own group outside the area the meerkat researchers observe) and Machu was then used to portray him. The producers didn't want to lose his character. So in a way Columbus and Mitch are the same meerkat, in the MM universe...
