In the rain-soaked jungle he comes face to face with a 9 ft boa constrictor and feasts on the creepiest of crawlies. Following in the footsteps of the pioneers who ventured here in search of gold over 100 years ago, Bear fights his way across frozen glacial wastelands, battles to stay afloat in treacherous white water and finds himself deep underground in an abandoned gold mine. It's a tough terrain where humans are well down the food chain. Black bears, grizzlies and polar bears can all be found here. The Yukon will be one of Bear's hardest challenges yet.

On the Snake River massive white water rapids transport Bear down miles of vertical gorge. The River then becomes his friend as he fishes for his meal while making shelter for the night. Bear finally makes his way out to civilization by picking up the trail of a hunter from a recent kill and tracking his way out to safety.

This is no walk in the park. Finally Bear heads underground; He follows a subterranean river through dark underground caves in the hope of cutting beneath the torturous terrain above. Sneak-Peek Man Vs. Wild Full Episode Descriptions:
Zambia, May 2
Bear Grylls ventures into the landlocked country of Zambia in Southern Africa. Before heading into the bush, he shows you how to survive some of the world's biggest rapids. Flashfloods mean the Zambezi River is bursting at the banks and in the Batoka gorge 12ft waves and vicious currents regularly claim the lives of canoeists and rafters. Armed with a body board, Bear drops into the heaving waters and manages to make it to shore. With a healthy population of crocs and hippos, commonly thought to be Africa's most dangerous animal, in the river, he needs to climb a sheer rock face to get to the safety of the bush. And when a tree branch breaks, he nearly doesn't make it. Its rainy season in Zambia and Bear amazingly comes face to face with 80 elephants. A nearby leopard kill means food for Bear, but unfortunately it's not long before Bear suffers from diarrhoea. Coupled with the heat and humidity of the African bush, he struggles to make it out but, as always, he has plenty of ingenious survival strategies ready to face any impending danger.
Namibia, May 9
Bear Grylls shows you how to survive in one of the hottest, emptiest and driest places on earth: Namibia. His journey begins on the notorious skeleton coast, a lethal 900 mile stretch, which has wrecked thousands of ships and claimed thousands of lives. Dehydration is the biggest survival obstacle. With treacherous temperatures and not a drop of fresh water on the coast, Bear makes a solar still, a very simple way for distilling water, powered by the heat of the sun. Bear deftly gets some of the 10 litres of fluid you need to survive in these conditions using this survival tool which dates back to 1551. In the scorching Namibian desert, he encounters a puff adder - one of Africa's deadliest snakes. But the quest for water dominates, even in the presence of this deadly reptile. With rivers running 15ft underground and water riddled with rock salt, Bear finds the plants that could save your life. Bear eventually meets up with the masters of desert survival, the San Bushmen. They reveal their water secrets and show Bear the joys of porcupine hunting.Boom Outtakes -
