Bear,
I was wondering, IF you could take one additional item beyond the flint, knife, and watch.(not counting parachute cords, or food) What would you also like to have in a survival situation?

Mr. Grylls,

You seem to really be able to handle the cold environments well. Does your past training mostly cover cold situations or warm... or both evenly?

Thanks for taking time to answer our questions... I love the show.

Hey Bear how are you. Hey I was wondering do you know a man by the name of John "Lofty" Wiseman. I am reading his book "SAS Survival Handbook:How to Survive in the Wild, in Any Climate, on Land or at Sea." It is a great book and I noticed you use some of the same technices. Well anyway I was just wondering. Thanks for your time.

Mr. Bear Grylls, I have a place you could go to survive. This place is called Nebraska. Just kidding wouldn't make much of a show. I think you sould try to survive aflot in some sea or ocean with a life raft and try to strand your self on an island or find a ship or something. Or maybe you could show us how to survive at home if a natural disaster struck. Maybe a tornado, hurricane, volcano, and earthquake. Just a sugjestion. Thanks for your time.

Hey Bear.
First let me just say how much I admire what you do and how much I have learned. The show is fantastic! Now, a couple of questions:

I was watching your show the other day and when the finishing credits rolled by I noticed two things.
1. Who is this "survival expert" and what is his role?
2. Why are the cameramen that follow you around (doing most of what you do) NOT listed in the credits?

I have been reading the posts, . People poking fun and questioning not just the show, but your integrity as well. I do not know what goes on behind the cameras, but I see what goes on in front of them. You are the man. You do things that many of these people that question you would not dare attempt. One person, however, mentioned that you should do a show where you take a person with you. That, I agree with. Most often when people go hiking, they go in a group or at least a pair. I notice that a lot of what you do pertains to only one person. Have you considered taking another with you? To me, that would be a bit more realistic for the situation and would change the survival tactics. I myself am a naturist, hiker, camper, rock climber. I would love to have the opportunity to do what you do. Of course, I can do that now, however I would prefer if you were there. haha. Is this even a consideration for future shows? If so, I will sign the insurance waiver and follow you to wherever. And with a great big smile on my face!

Last thing...I am very impressed by the show, by you, and by the way you teach. You have found your true calling and I have found my favorite show. Thanks very much!

Peace in all you do, and be safe.

Doc

Hey Bear. I'm a 19yr lesbian... and I would soooO do you! You rock! Keep up the good work and keep the shows comin'. I like to go out to our mountains and hike with my friends... they bring a compass and such... all the things that we would needed out there... but I usually ignore what they have and use some of the things you've shown the world... it really annoys them when I tell the time by the sun when they have cell phones! Hahahaaha!

Dear ilovegrylls
How much would u pay to see Bear in real life? I would give my life he is such an inspeation not just to be but to ALOT of other people. And my family calls me obbsesed over him.lol

Dear Bear
I wanted to make a point. Everyone says Survivor Man is way better because Bear cheats. Well i always tell then that is not true. Becasue you have to climb down some pretty steep rock cliffs and that sort of stuff so u need a camera crew to be able to climb and sometime u climb up trees WITH the camera urself. Thie is not an insult at all u are my idol i was just saying what i said to Bear haters.

Bear you are such and inspiration. i can't even explain it. i watch your shows all the time, repeat or not. i'm just completly in love with what you do. and i was already a nature nerd but after falling in love with your show i feel an even deeper love for the world around me. sometimes i just sit outside and listen to everything, its truly amazing.....kinda like you!! haha and now i can't even walk down the street with out thinking, "hey i bet i could climb that tree" and you even got me curious on trying some of the crazy things you eat!

maybe one day ill be good enough to go on one of your little adventures, so keep me in mind if you ever need a buddy

You are truly the greatest

Hello. I'm just a fifteen year old who has been interested in your show. I'm impressed by most of the stuff you do and how many people really look up to you! Though, this thread is about questions and I have one:
Have you ever had such a terrifying experience that would make you just want to stop right there?
P.S. You're really brave. I envy you.

Mr. Grylls,

I'm another 15 year old who loves the show. My question is, have you ever concidered doing a show in Maine? I live here but up north in most places you wont fine anyone for miles. Towns are named with numbers. I believe it would be a fun show for you, there is a lot of wildlife and plants for food and various uses. If u havn't consiered it, I suggest you look into it. I think that you would like it.

Hey, I have a couple questions for you:
1) how long do you take off between trips?
2) why don't you try surviving in less extream places, but still wild, like a forest that's not a rain forest or anything like that? just a normal one found on the east coast of the US?

thanks and best of luck on your trips!!
