I Love your show!! You should do a show about the adirondack Mountins in upstate new york! i live around there and there are a lot of stories about lost hikers and missing hikers. I hike there an awful lot! and it would be good to know some survival tips if i ever get lost there!
im not sure if you will actuley ever read this but i watch your shows and learn and mabey some day i might meet you. how old were you when you first decided you wanted to make a show lik man vs wild? dont listen to any of the poor commets they like you they just dont want to admit it i hope your show goes on forever have fun!
Also, I was wondering if you would ever come to Pittsburgh, Cumberland, or West Virginia. I think you would be surprised at how remote and beautiful this part of our country is.
LOL TIBA! Do you really think he does it for the benefit of the ladies? Or maybe because he is a little boy at heart. He seems like such a playful kid.

I think he does it for the same reason any other man in good shape would do it. Ratings, money, etc.
He knows that bored housewives (not saying that you are one) fall all over him every time he stripps down. So does Disco.
The only other reason out there (a minor reason because of his crew of cronies standing behind him) would be so he has dry clothes when he gets out. BUT anyone with common sense would know that if someone fell into the water on accident (he says he is showing you how to get out of the water incase someone does fall in). So this moots the whole taking off of the clothes.
Hahaha No I am not a bored housewife. I have 2 kids, one with autism,(which takes up a lot of my time) and I am a supervisor for JCPenny. It is really busy this time of year. I like Arnold too. Well, in his old days. Ever see Pumping Iron? I honestly dont think about Bear 100% of the time. I am way too busy. But when I do watch the show thoughts do enter my mind. But not just dirty thoughts. Thoughts like "Why isnt he wearing crampons or gloves" Or Why would he climb down a waterfall?" Or "Why doesnt he hold out a hand to help grab a cameraman's arm insted of just saying "cmon" I like him very much, but I am getting tired of watching him eat things and commenting like "tastes like dirt slime sour cream old" hahahah.
And no offence but it seems like you are trying to convince yourself of something here. Why else would you have told me all of this?
No, i am not trying to convince you of anything, except that I am not bored. I do some rock climbing, some in pittsburgh, but most in west virginia. I recently trekked from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, which was awesome. I have skiied, but never ice climbed. West Virginia has awesome parks. Blackwater Falls and The New River Gorge are great places to go. What I don't understand is why Bear went to Patagonia. I mean who would go there? Maybe if you were crashed in a plane, but unless there are other people there to eat, what was the point of that?
I watch you show every Friday night with my Dad and wanted to let you know you are the coolest. What place did you enjoy most so far upon all of your visit's? Please be safe and I hope to hear from you soon.
hy there id love to come with you in one of your adventure i love the wild and i realy want to gi with you in one of your adventures pls response to my question
Q: I greatly appreciate your show; however, was it really necessary to kill the turtle in the Everglades? -- Respectfully, Macwild
A: Killing an animal is always difficult. If it has to be done I make sure it is done as humanely as possible, and only when I am showing people what they might have to do if their lives depended on it. It is the reality, though, of survival, and one day it could save your life. But I love animals; I own both dogs and sheep myself.
If we want to help animals, we need to cut down on our meat consumption. We don’t need lots of meat protein, and it does our bodies no good to eat so much of it. Eat more fruit and veg and save animals!
Q: How do you decide when it's the right time to start drinking your own urine? It baffles me that, in the Kimberly, you made this decision at the beginning of the show, yet you haven't done it since. -- as128
A: It is only an option if you have a good supply of fresh water to supplement with. If you are already dehydrated, avoid drinking your own pee as well. It is a last resort that would work only with the right conditions. If in doubt avoid doing it. But read one of my favorite books, "Skeletons on the Zahara: A True Story of Survival" by Dean King, for a great tale of urine survival!
Q: In the Patagonia episode, while you are on the ice field, you stumbles upon a bug -- "Ande-perla-walinki" is how it sounded phonetically. I've searched all over the Web and can't find anything about it. -- MasterMisfit
A: It is named andiperla willinki after the man who discovered it. It survives on dust particles in frozen in the ice. It is amazing!
Q: I'm a huge fan of the show; I've gotten my family and all my friends hooked on it as well. We were all wondering what kind of boots you're wearing for your shoots? They look very rugged and must be made for all kinds of terrain not to mention the amazing climbs you preform in them, so what's the story with them? -- torgo64
A: They vary for the terrain I am in. But as my old sergeant major used to say, it is the person inside the boots that matters, not the footwear! So my advice is to buy sensibly and train hard.
Q: I was wondering what are your favorite and least favorite types of landscapes you go to survive in? -- beargrylls4life
A: Favorite is temperate! I have been in the last few months from -40 Siberia to +45O Sahara. Both are hell, and a blooming nightmare to function in at all!
I watch your show regularly and always wanted to ask you many things.
-how many days does it take for you to complete your expedetion after you land in the place excluding the time taken for research?(we dont know that since the show is of 60 minutes?
-are you planning to come to india (it has various geographical varieties plains,islands,mountains,plateau,etc.. plzz come here?
-how often does the crew help you in escaping?(always or only in extreme conditions) we love your show ..

dear mr. grylls I wanted to know that how often does the crew help you in escaping ,only in extreme conditions or always? how much time does it take for you to escape from a place (we dont know this bcoz the show is of 60minutes.)? we all like your show very much and plz keep up the gud work.all the best
Mr. Grylls, I'm a huge fan of the show, and enjoy the radical nature of the content. However, I find some of the jaded, often bitter commentary on this board baffling..possibly disturbing.
IMHO, such incredulous remarks regarding implied viability are inane at best. These long-worded diatribes belie any credibility that the authors seem so anxious to destroy. Yeah, peanuts have tons of protein...I've scouted them. Water is a direct solution to dehydration...I've enjoyed my share of sulfur.
Yadda-yadda....go mend.
My question has to do with when you jumped into the glacial river. See, I've been thrown into a bathtub full of ice water for no reason...just because I was taking a nap. In retrospect, my languid condition prevented any heightened heart rate, nervousness, etc.
How would you rate your plunge into the glacial river on a 1-to-10 pain scale?
Fist, hats off for the show Bear! Love it and dont miss an episode! I served in the US Army Infantry active duty for three years and am still in the reserves with a total of seven years in. I was in Iraq for 9 months and I can definitely appreciate the Sahara episode's!! I just have a quick question though..and it is rather heartbreaking, I have seen a video up recently about the lava fields episode in particular with some of the scenes taking place very near a road, and fog machines as smoke? I am just curious and figured the only way to find out is to ask!...Either way, great TV and I will continue to watch!...ps, thank you for your service to your country and the world...strike and kill Sir, airborne rangers lead the way! .
