Bear,
Not to be rude but i noticed that on your show you never end up with a five o'clock shadow or any facial hair after being stranded in the wilderness so one is led to belive you are stoping to shave what's up with that?

Re, handwarmers: You can also get reusable hand warmers. They're pretty neat -- you just boil them and it resets them.

Re, bear's cold fingers: For entertainment, watch the original version of the iceland episode where Bear talks about how miserable he is and how cold his hands and fingers are when he's "surviving" in a shelter at "night", and watch the revised version side-by-side with it. He's a good actor, that's for sure! Wink

Re, bbr128: Survival is not "fun". Survival is misery. Survival skills are an attempt to reduce the level of misery. Skills which you don't learn from this show. If you really do want to learn survival skills, please join a survival forum and talk with people in there, pick up some guides, and *practice* the skills before you go out. Nothing is "easy", and nothing is assured.

As for where you are, you're lucky -- California has some really beautiful wilderness! Go camping, backpacking, or even RVing in the state and national parks.

what kind of hiking shoes do you wear? I have Plantar Fascittis(strained foot muscles)and it is truly painful watching your show sometimes with all the hinking that you do. Do you use a special kind of hiking shoe?

You do realize that he's not hiking between each of the film locales, right? They just film a couple hundred feet off the side of the road. Many of the consecutive scenes are dozens of miles apart.

It depends on what you are interested in. There is something like a hundred and seventy forums on Disco. What else are you interested in?

Never left AD, just spent a few years in the G-3. Finally got back to a team. Was going to be deploying out at the end of this month. Just found out I have a ruptured eardrum, so I can't dive or jump. Now I am stuck here doing nothing for now. But I was also told that I was flagged for recruiting. But the jammer is now telling me I should be able to get out of recruiting because I am in a critical MOS. So hopefully, soon as I heal I can go to another team and pump.

Does the G-3 deal with plans or am i thinking of something else?

The G-3 (same as the J-3 in the Army) deals with Current Operations, Future Operations, Training, AFTP, EOD (EOD kind of falls under AFTP, so does CBRN), language, several other things and G-3X (this one is difficult to explain on an open forum, just think Black SOF). Plans is kind of an Army word, and we do sometimes use it as a name for a section, but yes.

Well here's to a speedy recovery and getting you back to a team. I'm sure you'll be fine. Oh, and enjoy your "doing nothing" while you can brother.

Thanks brother. Six months and I should be able to dive and jump again (according to them anyway. I feel that I am ready to do it now). But I have done nothing for far too long (if you ask me).

Ive never been on that board. I tend to stick to areas I have an interest in (Science, weapons, survival, etc). While I am a Marine, I am also aware of the fact that no matter how big or tough you are, there is always someone better. I may just have to stop on by and check it out.

That gave me a smirk, my son had to learn that lesson the hard way. I warned him it would happen sooner or later but he always thought he was a "tough guy" He laughed it off-Joking that he will never get into it with someone who knows how to wrestle, since he did'nt like being twisted into kissing his own @ss.

Typ- how the heck did you puncture your eardrum? Gosh talk about painful.

I had a cold and had to dive the other week. Couldn't regulate the pressure. Didn't hurt too bad.

Horse wasn't wild. It was from a nearby trekking center.

Best Bear I love your show and I look a lot. I really apreciate what you show us and learn us. But I had a question. I got Arthritis in my joints. But I like to be outside and do a lot etc. you maybe know something that's not to hard but that's easy and fun to do in the wilderness ? And would people with arthritis have a chance to survive ?

Dear Mr. Bear Grylls,

How are you? I was wondering how you survive the thin air in the mountians? I am a fellow adventurer and I am also a hunter and I was amazed at how you survived the lack of oxygen!
Sincerely Yours,
Chelsea
P.S. My three-year-old brother loves your show and when he feels like watching tv, he says: "Momma, I want watch Man!" as you may have guessed, he calls you"Man."

Dear Mr. Bear Grylls,

How have you been Mr. Bear? I would like you to know that you are my idol and one day, I hope to be the youngest woman to climb Mount Everest! I will also remember to keep you, your wife, and your two handsome boys in my prayers, maybe one day they shall become like their father. I was wondering how you start a fire with flint rock, I have try, but I haven't yet succeeded (sorry my spelling is terrible!) to lite a fire. Also, I was wondering, how would you survive in the mountains of North America?

Sincerely Yours,
Chelsea

Hey Bear,
I looked through a few pages, gotta say 40 is hard to look at,but I posted a thread before and didn't get any replies, and then seen someone said to post here and possibly get an answer. So, I was wondering what kind of boots/shoes you wore during your winter survival shows? I've been wanting to get a pair for my dad's birthday but don't know what to get him, if you could reply that would be awesome! Thank so much Bear! <3 Danyale Big Grin

Hey Bear,
I've been wondering, your camera crew is out there with you too, right? So will you ever have an episode where you will recognize your crew?
